A caring, knowledgeable practitioner, Dr. Walsh listened thoughtfully as I recounted my over-zealous activities the previous two days. Then he did a variety of stretches and worked in the deeper spaces between muscles and skeleton, explaining each step of the way what he was doing. He then showed me some exercises I could do on my own and me video record them on my phone so I could practice after I left his office. Thanks to Dr. Walsh, I felt like a new woman the very next day. I wish I lived there so I could have regular tune-ups with him! It's good to know that he's a "homeboy" with a special gift of art and science, because I go to North Tahoe twice a year and will call him if I ever injure myself again. Because he is a sportsman himself, Dr. Walsh understands a lot of what can happen to an athlete as well as a day hiker. I also appreciated how well he listens and explains things. I think he is the greatest!

I was and am still seriously opposed to both of those directions.... I had been through different physical therapists and not a lot had happened. I was introduced to a PT named Angie that worked on me at PT Revolution and she opened my eyes to the fact that I could live with my injury if I made my core stronger. However, Awesome Angie lives in another state and I needed constant care. I chose Josh to continue with me! He has methodically pushed forward with me when it didn't seem like I could get better. Although my injury does keep me from doing some things, if I hadn't found Josh I would have a much lesser quality of life and I am thankful. Blanca and Dom are great at helping me get my appointments and insurance lined up and I look forward to going there. If Echo smiles from a distance I don't mind him either. Ha. I am a competitive archer and was extremely concerned about my future in the sport, in fact it was all I could think of during my toboggan ride down the hill with the ski patrol. I called Tahoe Ortho's office and a live person quickly picked up the phone and she answered with cheerful but concerned voice, told her my situation, and I asked to meet with Dr. Swanson regarding my shoulder injury. She got me in to see the doctor in just a couple of days. So, i had none of those most hated robot phone systems, got a pleasant staff, and was rapidly scheduled in for an appointment to see a highly recommended skilled surgeon - excellent! The doctor took x-rays, showed me my AC Separation type 5, discussed the situation with me, presented me with my options, answered all of my questions, and never felt rushed. I elected to have my shoulder surgically reconstructed rather than letting it heal on its own. The Doctor got me into surgery at Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe just a few days later squeezing me into an opening; I really wanted to get this fixed quickly. I am not an expert in reading x-rays, but now my shoulder looks as good as new. Post op checkup with his PA, Michael Jaskot, a week later went very well, with similar attentiveness to the patient and was able to answer all my questions. I was told this is going to be a 6-month recovery with a lot of physical therapy - I am completely up for that, hoping it will get back shooting again post haste. Wearing my sling from the ER I got right after the accident got other people talking to me about their injuries, and I received three out of three people (accident skiers and dirt bike racers, etc.), unsolicited by me, who recommended Dr. Swanson. I recommend Tahoe Ortho and Dr. Swanson to all.

I'm glad to report that I had an amazing experience in all ways beginning from my phone contact right through to check out. I found everyone to be helpful, professional, thorough, and nice. When I called they were very helpful, and I had an appointment in a few hours. I saw a nurse practitioner who was very knowledgeable and professional -- and very nice as well. They billed my insurance for me (and I was there for an urgent care appointment). No muss, no fuss. I would definitely recommend their services, and would go back if I needed urgent care again.
