Anyone telling you this gym is clean is lying. It is F i l t h y, and they bribe people with free shirts to leave them nice google reviews, which is very shady. They try to make it seem like its impossible to clean because it's 24 hours, when other gyms that charge less and have a bigger area can. It's a small area, there's no reason it should be that nasty. I've seen bugs plenty of times, the bathroom walls have smears everywhere, the floor and equipment is full of thick dust that makes me sneeze all the time. (I have pictures on several different days and several different areas of this filth, if they wanna try and lie). The only upsides to this gym are the 24/7 status and the variety of equipment. It's also not too crowded usually, but man that filthiness is insane. Gyms are already unsanitary, and for it to be that bad has to be a health hazard. You also have a ton of gross, sweaty men who get their sweat all over machines and don't clean them, and they never re-rack their weights. This is not necessarily their fault, but maybe if they enforced cleanliness and common courtesy more, it would not be an issue. read more

Absolutely not, all they care about is being a money hungry business. It isn't clean at all when you lay on the floor to workout all you can see is dirt and dust. I signup with two personal trainers only one cared to actually do there job and was knowledgeable about it. My husband sign up for training not only did the trainer just not show up multiple times. He then said, he was leaving the gym bc they weren't paying him. All they ever did was charge extra fee and say you signed up for contracts that never happened. Why would you sign a 12 month contract if you weren't happy with gym or hurt. Do not go here, you will wish you had never stepped in this place. The only reason I give it three starts is because I absolutely LOVED the group fitness classes. Les Mills is such a great group fitness program and I am so grateful that BODYPLEX had the classes. However, the gym itself just wasn't my cup of tea. I never saw anybody cleaning the equipment, some of the cardio machines were very loud and needed to be replaced, and the atmosphere didn't fit my vibe - there were people grunting loudly at times. The workout machines were pretty close together in my opinion. Overall, the staff were very nice & the instructors were awesome! BODYPLEX atmosphere just wasn't my flavor! read more

My family and I have been members of Bodyplex Grayson for a total of over 14 years and it has, unfortunately, gone downhill in the past couple of years (this may be in part due to its 24 hour status). The gym is not clean, especially the cardio equipment on the upper deck, which can only be described as filthy. The women's bathroom stalls have stains and smears on the walls. The group fitness area is very dusty; there are dust bunnies and hair balls rolling around on the floor. The other major negative is the groups of men who are using community areas as their "boxing rings." They are loud, aggressive and smell terrible; they completely take over these areas by blocking it off with workout equipment for hours and are also filming. This is unfair to others who also want to use the community space and pay to do so. I have requested in writing and also via in-person conversation with Sara G. to cancel my membership but have so far been denied. If you want a clean, calm and family-oriented gym experience, I suggest that you go elsewhere. read more

Excellent gym! Staff is super nice and they treat you like family. You aren't just a dollar sign there. A big variety of classes and they have a great daycare there. They also offer cross grind which is like cross fit. Olympic style lifting mixed with other exercises. Very popular there and will make you sweat! You won't be disappointed. read more

Came here to workout while visiting my parents three months ago and moved to the area two weeks ago and joined full time. The staff is great, they remember names, and are willing to answer any questions and lend advice without trying to push other services like personal training on you. There is a few small downfalls for me personally 1. They changed the small room located in the back to a boxing / elastic small group workout area which means it is no longer available to use if you wish to work out alone. I used that area on my first visit to do a circuit training which required a treadmill, workout matt, free weights and medicine ball. The upstairs where the treadmills are does not have enough room, and I feel people would be uncomfortable with me doing the work out their. 2. The fee for daily non members has doubled from 5 to 10 dollars which is bad as I have people in town and we can go to the YMCA for 3 dollars so sadly when friends are in town for a week or two I will have to go the YMCA part of the time. 3. The new classes double the cost of your membership. I am all for improving the gym and I fully understand the need for a business to grow each year and a gym is hard to do that but to add two additional style classes for "small group training " and charge as much as your normal monthly fee maybe a turn off to new people looking at the gym. They do offer a great deal of free classes with your membership which is great but a number of gyms do this, to add the great increase I have not seen that many people in the classes but hopefully it will pick up. All in all it is a great gym and I love it, never very busy the instructors in the classes I take are great, the equipment is never broken or being repaired ( exception is spin class but there is a list for bikes with issues and they handle them quick ). Locker room and showers I have had to only use once but were great as well, very clean. It is competitive with other gyms pricing and the staff at the desk really sells the place. So its a new year, get a new you and get to Bodyplex. read more

I have been enjoying my time working out at this fabulous gym! The classes are scheduled at very convenient times. The instructors are super friendly and VERY helpful if you can't quite keep up with the routine (like me!). The equipment is always available to use. Be careful when you sign one year contract! They told me I can cancel with 30 day notice. That was a lie. Also you will pay 12 membership payments plus an additional payment! 13 payments total. This is a lying staff. I paid my contract faithfully. After 12 months they continued to charge me even though I had not come in months. After the 12 months, management was nasty and rude and turned me over to collections. 2 wks over contract turned into $600. I enjoy this gym and my trainer. I have made vast improvements since joining. I haven't made use of lisp lex and don't LAN to. The classes are scheduled at decent times and the instructors are GREAT! They are very helpful and open for questions. I don't care for the head/lead trainer/enrollment guy. He got me in the door and doesn't have a clue who I am. He is the only one of the trainers who I feel is fake. The others are always polite and have genuine facial expressions. The locker room is always clean but it annoys me when there are no towels at the treadmill area to wipe them down after working out. It annoys me when equipment at the gym is worn down and really needs to be replaced for safety reasons but is still available for use. The front desk staff is really friendly and pleasant. I visited numerous gyms. There is something different about Bodyplex. The atmosphere is electrifying, staff knows your name and you don't feel like a stranger. Most gyms just sign you up and wave you on to a treadmill. Bodyplex actually sits you down and literally asks you how they can serve you. The most impressive evaluation is given, explaining how you can achieve your goals. They have so many different programs and classes. The place stays clean! I am hooked! read more

For the monthly fee this gym charges, it is nasty. It charges LA Fitness / Gold Gym fees and it does not even have basketball courts, swim or a sauna room that actually works. It STINKS all the time. I understand a gym will smell but this one reeks all the time everywhere. Of course, the people working out do not clean after themselves but for this fee, the gym should be cleaned properly daily. I've considered contacting OSHA. The showers are disgusting and have never seen a scrub. They probably just spray them down and that's all. read more

I was a member here. In addition to yearly dues, I paid $399.00 per MONTH for personal training. After apprx. a year and a half, my mother passed away and I was diagnosed, had surgery and brutal chemo for stage IIIC OVARIAN CANCER. Bodyplex just kept charging my credit card. I even met with management who understood the situation and guaranteed me they would no longer charge me for personal training. To this day, they still REFUSE to refund the $598.50 they owe me. They will not even acknowledge my emails. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS TERRIBLE CLUB!!! My cancer is now back. I need this money for medical bills. read more

This place and management have nose dived...it's unfortunate really. Using the equipment as intended, being asked to stop, AND STOPPING, then being told to leave?! Whats funny is that i was trying to help preserve their gear for other patrons by using the appropriate weight collars for the clean and presses I was performing with the RUBBER BUMPER PLATES on the gym floor. On top of that, I spoke with Lynda and not only did she not follow up with me as she said she would, she had Brian call and tell me that "she didn't care if my wife and I returned"... by the way, I spend over $300 a month there on personal training and special Cross grind classes....this is how I am treated. read more

I thought that I wanted to join this gym - however when I went to sign up the fees kept adding up at one point the young woman behind the counter said and, "about June you'll get charged a fee for new equipment so don't freak out." Great what began as a $7/monthly fee turned into my having to write a check for nearly $200. I was a member of the Bodyplex Grayson at Moon Rd and 20 for a couple of years, coming in the morning early enough not many people get in there before me. I began noticing issues with the cleaning services, like members blowing their nose with tissues they stuffed inside the cup holders and left when they were done and they stayed there for two weeks. Small pieces of paper on the floors that stayed there for weeks. Grayson Bodyplex does not vacuum every day, they don't clean the machines everyday and they really need to. I saw guys wearing tiny body shirts, working out with the weights, sweating like pigs, on the floors, on the benches, on the weights, everywhere they walked, it looked like it rained, and no one seemed to care, as I was disgusted. I did not want to lay down in someone else's DNA to work out. Maybe its just me, but that is revolting. When I complained at the front desk, they said he was in training and a regular at the gym. Was that suppose to make it all right for him to work out, drip his sweat all over the gym, up the stairs to the work out machines, all over the work out machines, back down the stairs, to the weight benches...This was one guy. There were many others too. All they had to do was wear clothes to catch their sweat and carry a large towel to wipe their brow. Instead, they shake their heads like a wet dog and splatter sweat five feet in all directions. I found myself trying to use my towel to wipe up his DNA and realized later I was tying to use my towel for myself and could not because it was covered with his sweat. This was before 6AM in the morning daily, by closing, that gym would have to be steamed cleaned daily to clean it to my standards and they did not even vacuum weekly let alone disinfect anything. I think the Dept of Health needs to go in there a few times and all the other BodyPlex gyms also, unannounced and take some samples off the floor, the machines, the benches, and everyone except me would be surprised at what they find. If they don't clean BodyPlex, Grayson, I doubt if they have different cleaning services at the other locations, they will all be about the same, filthy. read more

I don't know how the walls are still standing. Being a neighbor to this place is awful. Our drywall is cracking and falling off in chunks from the extremely loud banging from people dropping weight bars from several feet. Sounds like they are dropping thousand pound weights from 50 feet over and over again. All day. Our products daily fall from the shelves due to the shaking that occurs over and over. We have to sweep up the chunks of drywall that continually fall due to the trembling of the building from the noise at this gym. read more
