My boyfriend wanted to stop here on our way back from Houston. We thought we were allowed to get into the water but you aren't. It was very hot and humid so we were hoping we'd be able to cool off in here. The water is green so it probably wouldn't have been a good idea anyway. We enjoyed looking at the turtles and ducks in the water. You don't see too many of those in the desert so that was nice. FYI, don't feed the animals bread because it's bad for them. They can get really sick. You'll see a sign that tells you not to do it. This is a good place to relax and maybe even have a picnic. There are tables around the park. Kids will enjoy coming here. I would recommend it for kids who are 7 or 8 years old. You'd really have to monitor smaller kids because they'd be tempted to get into the water. My son was like whatever and bored but he's 13. Overall this is a nice place. It makes for a good rest stop location and park.

This is a nice, relaxing city park in a small Texas town. It's clean, safe, and has plenty of walkways and trees. Loads of ducks to entertain kids and old geezers alike. Parking is on the street or in a dedicated lot. Stop off I-10, visit Boerne, and take a leisurely stroll along the river. You'll like it!

So calm and peaceful during these rough times. Social distancing is enforced of course, but definitely give this place a go if you're looking to just relax outside

This riverside park runs alongside cibolo creek in Boerne. You can access it by parking on river rd, W. theissan rd or main plaza. It is a beautiful stretch of park to stroll along the cibolo creek with easy access to Boerne shops & restaurants. As my family walked the park after a hearty lunch at Little Gretel, across the street, we saw several families with their lunches on the the park tables enjoying the rivers view. We walked along the sidewalk passing dogs, rollerblading & scooters, noticing how cool it was the park had clean restrooms & a working soda machine.. We also took in the shade of one of the large trees. Resting our heads on soft green grass. The only reason why this isn't a five star park is with the proximity to the street & shops, comes the noise of the traffic. Such nice scenery, I wished had more quiet spots. This is a great park, good for walks, sightseeing of the river & shops. A must in Boerne.

Great place for pictures! Especially during Christmas when the city decorates with lights!

Everything is super maintained than most parks I've been before! I usually go with my MIL, my baby girl and our dogs to get them some exercise as well and try to do 1-2 miles each time we are here. Depending on what trails you walk/hike on, theres some with shade and some that you will hit up the blazing sun, but with fall upon it hasn't been horrible! Everyone who hikes here are really respectful with the trails/area which is such a pleasant thing as there's usually not a lot of people who do that now a days. Will of course be returning weekly to get our steps in and vitamin D!

Loved they had a dog park and a playground you can take your kids to. There are places you can even go fishing if you want or just sit by the water to relax. Loved how there were plenty of signs around too talking about the animals and plants common there. Good information about the park too and didn't feel I would get lost either (good flat paths you can take). I barely saw any trash flying around either and could tell they keep this park well kept. I absolutely plan to come back here in the future when I have time. Definitely worth the visit!
