Both of them came out the next day and gave me a quote on the spot and scheduled the tree removal for 2 days later. Darrell and his crew had the tree down and the whole area cleaned up, even reinstalling a down spout that the tree took out and propping up a plant that the snow had knocked over in less then 2 hours. They replied promptly to questions, and showed up THAT DAY, right on time and gave a bid on the spot. Samuel was super nice and we decided to try and schedule the work. He was a few weeks out and the weather was iffy, but soon after we received an update that he could fit us in much sooner due to changes in the weather. Samuel and his team arrived right on schedule and did a great job forming the whole driveway out within a few hours. The day of the pour they again arrived right on time, took care to mask off the siding, and were careful to not get any residual concrete down the storm drains and did an excellent job cleaning up before leaving. I could go on and on, but I was thoroughly impressed. The concrete looks fantastic, even better than I had hoped for. We had a brushed finish on our back patio, and exposed aggregate on the driveway, so two finishes on the same pour and I was worried it might not match the existing concrete. They cut down the tree and hauled it away. Then they found the wires and pipes. Then they used a track hoe to dig up the tree roots. It was huge mess but they hauled it all away. They also dug up a really big flower bed. They moved valve boxes, augmented the soil, and planted bulbs. They smoothed the patio area and filled it with layers of gravel and sand. They measured the grade and made a plan for drainage. They brought blocks and caps and pavers from a local source. They built the steps, carefully fitting together the corner joints. Then they built the walls and glued down the caps. To place the pavers, they started with a circle and wove a pattern around it. They added a border in a contrasting shade. To make the pavers fit together, they had to cut each one with a heavy saw. Every piece had to be measured and marked and cut. They did it with teamwork and rapid precision. They sanded the floor with polymeric sand to seal it. Then they helped me move the furniture and hang the artwork. The project took less than a month. Every day they left the work site as neat as a pin. I paid them very well for doing this work and you should too.

I bought 12+ bags of their composts and manure mixes, used in raised veg beds, planted starts and seed, and nothing will grow in it. Composts are mostly wood dust and fragments, no nutrients in it which is what compost is supposed to provide. In comparison in a different raised bed, I spent about 20% more for a rich potting soil/raised bed mix from a local supplier, my veggies have shot up and are remarkably lush, 6 weeks later. I am sick about this, wasted a lot of money and have done backbreaking work digging out and replacing the crap compost I bought at Swanson which is their own brand. Shame on you, Swanson for fleecing your customers with your horrible products.
