I hired them to install a new shower. The owner came in the 22nd of February to quote, installed…read morethe new shower the 2nd week of April and sent in the drywaller a week later. Little did I realize that they did not reinstall the shower doors (which I discussed with him at the quote ($2250), and he did not ever say that I would be paying for the drywaller or the new shower doors when I asked), which he said that they would see what they could do, but that they usually just replace them; nor do they include the cost of the drywaller to fix the shower. I am now in July and the shower is still not usable and the shower door frame was damaged during removal so I have to find replacement parts. After the drywall was done, I stepped in the shower to check it out and immediately heard a cracking noise, it went down hill from there. I noticed that there were several issues. The FIRST install was completely wrong. The water faucet was not centered by about 1.5 inches too far to the right, the shower stall was 1.5 inches away from the tile and the drain was all of a sudden noisy. I could hear the water rush through when I flushed or used the sink. Also, the drain does not appear to be done properly and I can see the copper fitting when has a ring around it. The ring will hold water and end up with mold and/or mildew. I told the owners helper about this and he said it was right. I spoke with the owner and he said that he knew the install was wrong when he stopped by to check out the installers work, but after the installer completed the floor tray but didn't tell him to fix it. He actually told me this face to face. He didnt notice that the faucet was off center. I asked him what he was going to do and he wasn't about to offer a solution so I told him it needs to be corrected. The shower needs to be installed properly. I had to wait another 4 to 6 to get the issues fixed and the new shower installed. I am now at 4 months for a 1 day install; 5 months from the day he quoted the job. When you look at this installation, the wood is not flush with the wall and it will be a pain for the drywaller to get it leveled. Also, the "replacement' walls are actually the first set that was installed; they have drywall around the edge from the first drywaller. I saw the replacement box in the truck, so I know that they had them. At the final billing ($2510) they added an additional $200 for a Moen trim Kit and Positemp Control and $25.00 for lumber, that was NOT included in the original quote, as these should be standard items for a shower installation. they also tried to bill me for the 2 x 4s used to install. They did remove the lumber on the final payment, which I paid to get them out of my house. Enough was enough. The end result is that I will have to find parts to repair the shower door, I will have to pay more for the drywall damage caused in the 2nd install because it was greater than the first time. and I will probably have to buy new shower doors to replace the ones that they removed, which will go upwards of $1000 for a basic set. and I will have to have someone come and hide the misalignment of the shower floor to the tile. Seems they did not know how to do this and the base on the right is slightly higher than the left side. Oddly enough, the owner did state that their main work is Heating and AC, not shower installations. I think they may want to highly consider getting out of the shower installation business.

We have used four plumbers since moving to Omaha four years ago. We just had a new kitchen faucet…read moreand garbage disposal installed by Hugh from Advantage. I called several plumbers, and Advantage was the only business that provided us with an estimate of the work's cost. The others all wanted to come see the job, provide a quote, and then we could decide to accept their proposal or send them walking. I wasn't looking for a firm quote; I just wanted an idea. Hugh from Advantage was polite, neat, and very efficient. The total cost was reasonable and lower than we had experienced with other plumbers for comparable work.

I had a great experience with Advantage Plumbing…read more Through Yelp, I requested help for a toilet and shut valve replacement. (The toilet has been having intermittent issues and needs replacement.) They immediately connected with me and offered to come out the same day (but I still had not gotten the new toilet.) We scheduled for the day after, and they were here by the promised time. The team quickly removed their shoes at the front door without being asked (not my general experience with many repair teams) and started working. They finished almost precisely at 90 minutes despite a minor complication. (The basement/toilet drain was not draining well which they augered out.) It was explained to me that it was likely a combination of time and a 20-year-old toilet (which did not generate enough force). Other than minimal dust and grime, they did not leave any bigger messes for me to clean up. They were professional, and their price was well aligned with other companies. They did not sell me on any additional service plans but did guarantee their service for a year. (There is a 4% for credit card transactions.)

My neighbor and I were out front discussing the trees we both have and decided it wouldn't be a bad…read moreidea to get somebody to run a camera through our drains to see what kind of root damage we may have. We hoped to get a slight discount if we could get them done at the same time, 2 jobs, no travel time, possibly 2 additional jobs in the future. My neighbor contacted Roto Rooter and found out that it would cost $350 just to run the camera for each of us (outrageous) but was told that that cost was only if that's the only thing we had done and if we got another procedure that cost would be taken out of that. We scheduled someone to come out and he agreed to $250 for each inspection. He ran the camera from my laundry room where the main clean out is easily accessible. Like I expected he did find roots in the line but not until the end where my line meets the cities connection. It was slowing the flow but wasn't backing it up completely. He appeared to try to push through the roots unsuccessfully. I was told that the only way to fix this problem would be to excavate and replace all the pipe involved and he gave me multiple reasons why no other procedure would work and told me they couldn't guarantee any other procedure. My neighbor's cleanout was even easier to access since his was outside near the sidewalk. Minimal roots were discovered in his line as he had his hydro-jetted a couple years ago. I paid $250 cash and opted to proceed by getting the lines hydro-jetted. I didn't receive a receipt and assumed that was because the job wasn't completed yet. Without an appointment set up yet the guy with the hydro-jet called and said he was available and I told him he could head my way. I was surprised to learn that the hydro-jet hose needed to be ran through the house, down the stairs into the basement and then into the laundry room. He took good care to protect property in the laundry room but nothing to protect the floor or carpet down the stairs from the dirty hose. (not too concerned about this as the carpet is old and the tile could be washed.) I told the tech I wanted him to do what he could do within an hour as I couldn't afford more than that. After some time spent on getting the remote control working (transferring it to another machine or something like that) He ran the hose into the line and I kept an eye on the floor drain in the service room. Once satisfied that the hose was far enough he turned on the water. I was surprised not to get any water coming up from the floor drain. The tech ran his camera into the line and discovered once he got to the point of the "root ball" it had been pushed through and upon pulling back the hydro-jet hose discovered it was into the cities line at least 20 feet. I think he pushed through the roots before ever turning on the water. He then spent the remaining time he had cleaning up the interior of the pipe. He wrote me up a receipt for $695 and I paid with a debit card. The $250 that I already paid completely slipped my mind at this point and I didn't realize I over paid until later that evening. When I realized they hadn't deducted the $250 that I already spent, I text messaged the camera tech and was then told that the $250 would only be deducted if I had excavation work done and not from the price of the hydro-jet procedure. The only reason I even agreed to getting the work done in the first place is because I was under the impression that the job would cost $650 not $945. A few years ago the hydro-jet service was only $450 and I thought THAT was too much. This job should have cost me $650 plus taxes, TOTAL. I have since learned that Roto-Rooter employees are paid commissions and their paychecks are directly affected by how much they can bilk a customer for and that tech would have absolutely had me take out a loan or get financing in order to pay for excavation work that did not need to be performed. Although I'm satisfied with the work, it was not $945 worth of work. In total they were here less than 2 hours. Even less time was spent at my next-door neighbor's house and he also paid $945. The job was straight forward with no unforeseen circumstances or problems; there wasn't any clean up afterwards and the neighbor's job was faster and easier than mine. Edit: The manager contacted me and apologized for the misunderstanding. He offered to give me the price of what I thought it was going to be before the job started. I appreciate that and accepted his offer. As long as a company does the right thing and attempts to make the customer happy I really can't complain but please keep in mind of what could possibly happen.
