I attended a free consultation with Lodestar. Within a minute Dr. Isaac Halliday (Doc Halliday to me) could see the issue was my left hip, not the knee. I had been compensating for the hip and creating knee problems. His diagnosis led to an MRI and x-ray that found a labrum tear, bone spur and arthritis in the hip and sacrum. I immediately began a weekly regimen of physical therapy with the good doctor at his Murray office. He gave me a variety of personalized routines that included exercises and stretches. The office has a wide variety of exercise equipment where his clients learn how to first manage their pain and then overcome it. My nerve issues have completely disappeared, and the hip/knee pain abated. I continue to do the exercises and stretches religiously. While the hip issues will never go away completely, they do not prevent me from remaining active. I have resumed all the activities I enjoyed before the discomfort arrived. Dr. Johnson also strives to prescribe the cheapest medicine rather than taking advantage of the insurance companies, something I really like. The only complaint I would have, making it 4 instead of 5 stars, is that the walls are razor thin. When I arrived the day of my procedure, they were absolutely not certain of the costs, therefore, didn't really seem like they talked to my insurnace beforehand at all, like they said they would. The day of the procedure, I was told I would likely have $250 to pay outside of insurance. Okay, great, that's not too bad. However, I wanted to ensure that was the correct amount due to their sense of uncertainty, so I put off my procedure for about an hour to go talk to billing to ensure I wouldn't end up with a large surprise bill that I couldn't pay afterwards. Billing was 0 help and they couldn't care less for my concerns and the fact that I told them I'm low income and can't manage a surprise bill. They got me very flustered and stressed right before my procedure. They didn't care. I was told it shouldn't be much more than $250 and not to worry. So I decided to just move forward with the procedure, which I regret more than anything. Lo and behold, a short while after my procedure, I received a bill in the mail for $250 and then another for $730!!!! My fears came true! They were not transparent about the reality of how high the extra costs could be. I did everything to avoid it and it still happened because of the billing people misguiding me and not caring to investigate it further to ensure the true costs. Not to mention, the procedure didn't do anything for me or give any answers and the treatment at the place was mid in general. I'm still having all the same issues I started going there to address. So now I have a huge bill to pay that I can't pay and over the month of November they add TWO late fees! Two in one month really? I'm low income, and talked to them telling them I was going to need more time to pay it and they just proceed to add more late fees. They don't work with you at all. Today, only about 4 months out from the procedure, I received a bill in the mail stating that if I didn't pay the bill in 10 days (actually 6 days due to when I received the bill in the mail- took 4 days to get here from the date marked on it) then they will send it to collections and I will be charged a 50% fee. I've never heard of a debt going to collections that fast, and definitely never heard of a late fee that's that excessive when only 4 months late (it's not like it had been 6+ months of them not being paid). Scare tactics, really? So this is how you're treated when you can't afford to pay for a surprise bill that you tried to avoid up front but got no where because of the lack of care and knowledge from the billing department, and after they were already paid good money from the insurance company. No accountability or empathy at all. I wouldn't recommend this place, not only because of the billing departments lack of compassion and empathy, but also because of all the money I spent just to get 0 answers and to get better 0%. Such a waste. This is what's wrong with healthcare! Based on the other negative reviews that are somewhat similar to mine, I know my experience will be brushed off by management and I will be gaslit like the other reviewers that have had negative experiences have been. Management, I recommend for you and your staff to receive some sensitivity training and always run prior authorization beforehand. Give the patient as much info as possible and show a sense of concern and willingness to help. First- I'm not into hippie & I'm not into non proven medical practices, but I'm also open to non traditional practices. I'm not rich so a doctor outside of my insurance was a little scary. Whatever I pay towards feels like a gamble. I had great reviews for this office and both Dr. Peterson and Seibold. I'm still taking my time to trust they can cure me but so far my experience's been positive. Details of a few areas below. 1) customer experience: Office manager Meghan/ Megan was soooo sweet & also soo knowledgeable. Even after my appt with the doc, she answered in-depth medication questions I expected the doc to only know. She wasn't B'sing either. 2) Blood work & check in done by Vicki/Vicky. It was the smoothest & painless I've done. I usually pass out or get dizzy. She warmed a pad for me, chairs were comfy & she was so sweet. 3) Dr. Seibold sat with me an entire hour! Ok that alone was such a valuable experience. someone care and listen. I've felt so passed off by Dr. Berman at Uof U. but Seibold shared that even when he practiced in traditional medicine he would have passed me along too because that's how they are taught so they don't know other forms of treatment for bacterial, nuero, fungal viral etc. Seibold said he's been practicing more whole body care integrative medicine for a few yrs but used to be a traditional nuts & bolts type doc. Lyme journey I've gone the traditional route was referred by my GP at UofU for a lumber puncture & MRI even though I've been sick for so long. He saw the tick that bit me & still didn't order tests. I may spend less here than what I'd pay for normal out of pocket limit with my insurance, which is 9k. I think I could save money too if I lower my current premium with my insurance.; if these treatments work. I'm still at the testing but I'll report back to share info on future experiences. Seibald shared science backed options that were non traditional and also uses traditional approaches for Lyme, such as antibiotics. Now these treatments aren't cheap but so far I'm thinking it will be less than my out of pocket limit. They have things I didn't need like weight loss stuff but they didn't make me feel bad for not being into or needing it. Just stay your course. They do a lot of stuff and don't get sucked into any up sell unless you are financially fluid. Insurance: Most things are not covered by insurance, but they will try to help get tests covered if possible.

I am 55 and have had a lifetime of various physical illnesses that run the gammut from acne to chronic sinusitis to ruptured discs. He is one of the best doctors I have ever been to (CA and UT). He is kind, calm, respectful, and professional but approachable. He is fully present in the room when he is with you and makes sure that you have everything you need in hand when you leave (as you know this is unfortunately rare). He listens carefully and explains complex medical concepts in a way that respects your intelligence but also makes them easy to digest. I am facing 5-6 debilitating diagnoses that are complicated to treat and include mental health components. Both he and all of the staff have shown me an amazing amount of patience and compassion. I dont have enough good things to say about him and the staff from the front desk, medical assistants to the phlebotomist.
