Stefanie was great! She helped me find a team and as an adult trying to find friends it can be challenging. What great start to 2026:)

I played here for years but have had too many negative experiences with the poor refs.

We paid lots of money and by the time we realized what this club was about, it was too late to get out of it. Our team parents offered better feedback and coaching than the actual coaches. Very sad. The owner would sit on the sidelines at tournaments and be on her phone instead of watching the teams play and being fully present. It was very disrespectful. Canned responses were given by coaches when the players asked for feedback. When you pay as much as club costs, the basic expectation is that your child will improve their skills and learn. They will be coached and be more successful on the court. I guess for our first year in club, even though our expectations were so basic - we had a bar that was too high and Rise couldn't meet it. In fact, I don't think Rise was even on the court. I would never recommend Rise Volleyball Club unless you want to waste your child's time, your time, and your money.

The coaches cause so much conflict and don't know how to do there job. Worst club experience ever. Paid money to be on a nationals team and there was a girl that it was her first year playing volleyball. Multiple 14 year olds on a 16 national team. They can't get it together, it is a huge mess and will never play or pay money to this club again.

Called out of bounds from the other side of the field, allowed 3 tackles (it is flag!), simply on vendettas because I called them on it. If you want, play for fun. If you are playing to win, your kids will be crushed. I will not coach again. Step up your reffing, otherwise the money and time you spend will break your kids hearts. I am disgusted by their vindictive attitude. It is supposed to be for the kids, not a power trip for the refs.

I ended up volunteering to coach one of the teams, and later stepped up to coach my other sons team as they had a shortage of coaches available. Over all I would say its not a smoothly run league. While this is one of the most expensive leagues to play in, they still required sponsors to cover jerseys, etc for the kids. Additionally a lot of the admin work was pushed to the coaches, which is odd as we are all volunteers. More so, we found through the season that there was a great deal of variance between refs and games, there seemed to be a good deal of chaos, and inconsistency across the operation. Things really came to a head in our last game though. The refs were either over tired or completely distracted. We had an inadvertent whistle, when we tried to understand why we got ignored. Then the ref literally skipped downs on 3 occasions, each time we engaged the refs and were ignored. Additionally the refs did not change play direction at half time. Through out this we engaged the league director with no benefit. More concerning than the lack of care from the refs were the absolute lack of integrity of the opposing coach. Win or loose, the kids were only looking for a fair game to test their metal, and see the fruits of their work during the season. When the league director was approached afterwards, we shoulder shrugs. All the parents of the team are asking where we will be coaching next year, and it wont be at Friday night flag. Meridian PAL, Upward, Ten mile are all much better alternatives in my opinion. The one benefit of this situation was the clear lesson on integrity for the kids.

Our pre-school/kindergarten age group classes are more strict than some other gyms so you have to find what's best for you. Our beginner classes for kids 5-12 are focusing on the basics for success, we have three different pre-team classes so we can place a gymnast with a group that will be fitted to their needs, and we of course have our team program. We do not have a level 1 or 2 team as we train pre-team to move on to either our level 3 compulsory program or excel. We also have a Cheernastics class that focuses on tumbling, myself a retired gymnast and a retired cheerleader coach that class. Call the gym to find out more!

When we moved to Boise, ID we were nervous about finding a gym that was right for us. We did a lot of shopping around and as soon as we walked into Mountain West, my daughter and I knew we found the place to call HOME! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with happy smiles! All the coaches and owners make my daughter feel like she is a part of the family. The Staff and Owners are all friendly and willing to help all the kids with whatever they need! Rick and Heidi are amazing gym owners and put the girls needs first. They are always giving tips to the kids to help them get better and improve. This is such a great place for kids who love gymnastics.
