Three generations in our family were able to enjoy themselves here! They had something called an ez skate that was like a supporter for the little skaters on the ice. This allowed my four year old to skate all on her own. Easy parking. There are two rinks inside, one for hockey and one for skating. If you plan on watching instead of skating you'll need a coat. If you're skating you'll be warm enough in a long sleeve shirt. Avoid bringing valuables and the lockers fill up fast. Bring some water to prevent dehydration, and you'll be good to go. They didn't have skates that fit me properly. I tried replacement skates that the cashier recommended, and those didn't work either. So after five minutes of skating, I asked for a refund. The dummy at the counter, just smirked, and said, "sorry we, don't do refunds if you already gone on the ice." He was a real a-hole about it. They need to stop hiring halfwit morons with zero hospitality to run their counter. They also need to do away with that Idiota quality. I hope my $14 was worth a one star review and me never bringing my family here again. read more

Nice rink complex with good rentals and parking. Very clean and well maintained. The ice is good and hard. Good viewing areas in the snack bars for people who are too sensitive to deal with the cold of the bleachers. And be warned - these are cold rinks.. and that is from a Canadian who is used to coke rinks. My only big complaint is that the pro-shop which seems to be the hockey supply store in all of Boise is closed every day from 9am - 4pm - yes closed not open during the entire day - so you can't grab a last minute sharpening. The sign on the door does say the ice rink reception can open it but during busy times - like a tournament, that does not work. read more

Idaho Ice world used to be the best iceskating rink around for public skating. Used to have a big rink and plenty of room and not very expensive for a few hours of skating. Until covid came along Now they are mask nazi's there. They shut the whole place down for a year and a half bcs of "covid" and September 2021 finally decided to open back up Now it absolutely sucks. The second you walk in you have to have a mask on OVER your nose every single second. And if you don't every single worker will walk up to you and remind you 20 times to "put your mask over your nose" while your trying to eat When you are trying to skate around and your tired and breathing hard and from the cold, it is so hard to breathe through the masks. I could barely breathe and the fact that I couldn't put my mask down for a minute just to breathe some air without a stupid employee coming up and telling me my dumb mask needs to go OVER my nose and CONSTANTLY reminding you every few seconds if you don't have a mask on is SO annoying and it's running their customers and people off. No one wants to be forced into trying to skate around in a mask and barely be able to breathe and can't put your mask down for any seconds at all lest everyone comes up and badgers and gets on your ass about it is awful and makes me definitly not want to to back at all. read more

Great place to do family time or play dates! I'm not good on skating so we seldom come, if we do just for the kiddos pretty much. It's pretty well maintained rink since its the only we have in the valley. A little far off for us location wise but it's great to come here when you have intentions to check out the outlet as well. read more

My daughter and a friend went ice skating on Friday night. Upon coming out of the ice rink ready to leave she found her brand new Nike tennis shoes had been stolen. She tried talking to one of the kids running the skate desk. He said they had cameras, but only management had access to them and walked away completely uninterested. When my husband found out her shoes had been stolen he called idaho iceworld and asked to speak to a manager. The girl who answered the phone said she was a supervisor. He explained what had happened. She said nothing. He asked if they had cameras. She said yes, but she was unable to look at them. My husband left his name and number and requested a call back from the manager who she said would be in the next day. We have not heard from anyone. I'm not expecting them to do anything about the stolen shoes. My daughter did leave the shoes out in the locker room with everyone else's. She learned her lesson. But I'm guessing theft happens frequently at this place and the manager knows it. The least they could do is to return a phone call...and possibly provide a locker with the cost of your iceworld rental. read more

Not sure how to rate since I didn't skate but the kids had a blast and the food court is reasonable. Have only 4 stars because the bathroom was filthy and the whole place stunk. Maybe this is par for the course I don't really know but it's great place for a birthday party. Staff was friendly and prices reasonable. read more

Customer service is awful. Girls at the front had an attitude. Went back to the counter to get one of those walkers to help my daughter skate. Waited at the counter forever and nobody ever came to help us. Think I'm exaggerating? Check your security cameras on 5/16/18 @ 730ish pm. You'll see another patron actually jump over the counter and grab one of those walkers for his own kid (and one for mine, since he was already back there). The non-attentive/non-existent staff didn't say anything because they weren't paying attention. Skate laces were in pretty bad condition. Both pairs we rented had laces knotted and too short to tie properly. Also, there was no staff on the ice to stop the teenagers from throwing ice at and body slamming each other. Two starts because it was $10 for two people so... whatever. read more

I feel like this was our best find of this terribly hot summer. We came during the relentless heat wave on a Sunday afternoon. Surprise, surprise! They were having a 2 for 1 deal when we arrived so that mean my husband and I both got admission and rentals for super cheap (I think it was like $13).I would spend that much just to be able to sit in the bleachers of that supremely air conditioned, even slightly cold, arena. We've been here twice and have loved every bit of it! My daughter especially loves it! We'd go a lot more if we lived closer. Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 is parent tot hour and strollers are welcome on the rink. Both times we've come, we've brought lunch to eat afterwards at their tables just outside their rinks. The facility is in great shape, and I can look past the ruts in the ice after a few hours of heavy use, but the lack of supervision and awful customer service can't be left unmentioned. For starters, my friend had to go back to the counter repetitively to get skates that did not have knots in the laces. Come on, this is simple customer service. One can not skate when you can't tie the skates tightly around your ankles. Does anyone even look before the skates are put back on the shelf and/or handed to a customer? Wake up Ice World staff! And the lack of any control on the ice is inexcusable. Skaters going in two different directions is a safety hazard. Also the unsupervised children skating haphazardly wherever they want is a concern. Attention parents, get your lazy butts out on the ice and discipline your ignorant kids. The groups of people, young and old, congregating at the entrances and exits to the ice was another example of how the management needs to improve their poor performance. This yet another great idea for Boise that is flawed by the lazy, apathetic people in this town. read more

I only gave them two stars only because if you're 13 and younger, this is a great rink for children. As for everyone else (high school/college students and men's league hockey players), unless you plan on waking up at 6 am or earlier, you probably won't find time to get on the ice...ever. All drop-in and stick time sessions for people that are 16+ are scheduled at the most inconvenient times of the day (7am and 11:30 am on week days). Not to mention their pro shop could use some work too. Not only are their new products extremely over priced, but they're selling outdated and 5+ year old equipment at the same price they were when they first came out. I'm especially disappointed because this is the only ice rink in Boise, so with that being said, there is literally no other option. read more

I recently went to their Christmas Jingle Blades performance at the Idaho Central Arena. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the people who put on the event. Adorable little children, seemingly under the age of 10 were Wearing Masks While Performing On The Ice!! Masks are not recommended during athletic activities. Children are the least likely to get or transmit Covid. Not all performers wore masks, few if any of the older performers (teenagers and older) wore them and very few attendees wore them so obviously masks weren't mandated by the venue. It was beyond virtue signaling using small children as political props. Whomever forced the small children, those most unable to speak up for themselves, to smother their breathe during an athletic activity and hide their faces during what should have been a joyful performance are fundamentally child abusers! Any parent who paid the organization to train and showcase their child in a mask are culpable as well. Do Not Support these organizations that force masks on children! read more

Eh. I have a feeling if we came on a night other than family night, the experience would be better, so I am going to go back again and see if my review changes. But for now, we really didn't care for our visit to Idaho Ice World. When we went, it was on a family night and it was not great. I went with my friend, my husband, and my three year old daughter. It was my daughter's first time ice skating and she was excited, but the problem is that it was way, way too overcrowded. You could barely maneuver because there were way too many people on the ice. We were constantly getting shoved aside, and they only had ten of the little walkers that assist young children. Nine of the ten were not even being used by young children or beginners! They were being used by rowdy kids who were using them to be reckless on the ice! And the staff was very rude. They were unhelpful, unwatchful of the ice, and overall apathetic. They all looked like disengaged teenagers. I was disappointed in the experience, but I will try to go on a less busy day and see if anything changes. read more

The first person we encountered was Chris and he was so friendly and helpful. He gave excellent advice on sizing for skates and was so patient with our rambunctious group. Our experience was an excellent one because of him. We paid for the little helpers for the young ones after about a half an hour and he seamlessly took our $4 whilst a larger group was checking in and put the helper on the back shelf for us. This place is amazing! It has become our home away from home. The staff is friendly and helpful. They keep the schedules and activities up to date, and they are quick to answer or respond to phone calls too. The facilities are huge! Sometimes this place gets super busy, but everything is always clean and my kids always stay happy skating. That's all that matters to me anyway! The food choices are fine for our one night a week away,Chicago Connection and Blimpie. There is a coffee bar too but she is only open sometimeS, mostly during hockey season I've been told. My six year old is taking lessons, and the staff are wonderful. The place is a great asset for the city. The ice is taken care, and the front desk staff are excellent. The staff could spend a little more time working with some of the rude and rowdy teens. It can be a safety concern there at times. read more

If you dont want your team to get hurt, don't support this rink. I have never seen parents clap when their 15 year old hurts someone, but it must be typical here at Ice World. Honestly I'm disappointed with the parents as a 23 year old. read more
