They will not communicate with the hospital. You will have to do all the communicating and gathering and sending of information and they will send you to collections before you even know what your full bill will be . They don't care . DESERVE A NEGATIVE 5. I have had nothing but issues with the billing. I had two insurance companies at the time and it was to be adjusted per insurance. I have paperwork proving it. I have battled with them for 5 months because they first billed wrong and one insurance refused to pay it and told me I was not responsible for this. Then after months of this they finally send me another bill and they did not do the adjustment from the secondary insurance. Now, I can't get the supervisor to call me back and I have been told they will adjust but they are not adjusting it. If I get turned into collections I am going to really be upset!!! They say they will call me back and don't. I am contacting BBB for help. That is going to void the HIPA law because it is medical billing. So angry! Their billing department is absolutely unacceptable!!! Whatever you do, don't overpay them!!! You will be dealing with them for MONTHS to get a refund. (I'm currently going on 70 days without a refund of $310). They have known for months that the refund is due and they keep giving me ridiculous excuses. The billing for this place is abysmal. We did everything we could to work with them and insurance. They billed us over $1200 to LOOK at 3 MRIs. I already paid for the actual MRI $2600.00! I have had multiple positive experiences with this group and St. Luke's. I had a central line (IV directly to the heart) placed by the physicians at Boise Radiology Group/St. Luke's and was treated very well, and told about every aspect all along the way. They took something that was a bit scary and put me at ease. My second and more recent experience involved imaging over at St. Luke's Meridian by Dr. Shochat. She was super helpful and walked me through the procedure prior to starting. She explained everything thoroughly and took the time to show me on the screen what she was looking at. It was like having a friend in the room. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my imaging, the physicians are highly trained, personable, and you can tell they like being in Idaho and doing what they are doing. read more

I've had a lot of medical things come up lately unfortunately so it has been hard to keep track of everything. I received a notice from a collection agency that I was going to be sent to collections if I didn't pay the overdue balance for imaging. (I had already made several payments on this account). So, I called Boise Radiology and asked about the balance that was showing past due, I gave the exact amount to the lady on the phone and I asked if I could pay that exact amount to Boise Radiology directly or if I it had to be done through the collection agency. I was told that I could pay it directly to her and that this would avoid my imaging bill being reported to my credit. I thought I was good to go. Then a few weeks later I received a call from the same collection agency stating I still owed the same amount as before. I told the collector that I already paid the amount needed to keep this bill from going to collections and was told that all I needed to do was have Boise Radiology Group send proof of payment to them and I could avoid it affecting my credit. I called BRG and was told that the amount I paid was put towards current bills and not the past due ones and I was SOL! I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF I COULD PAY THE PAST DUE TO THEM DIRECTLY AND I SPECIFIED WHICH BILL IT WAS FOR. I was met with resistance and told that l had to pay it to the collector directly even though the lady on the phone AND the debt collector said otherwise! Now I have to come up with an additional $300 to pay this because making payments on a collection bill isn't the same as if I were to continue making payments like I had been on the current imaging bills at BRG. DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW? We are all struggling and I especially am because of all the health stuff that I've had going on that has kept me from going back to full time duties at work. Two weeks later they claim they never received it. Because I am accustomed to members of our community being decent and responsible to one another, I didn't send the check certified or with tracking. Until now, I have never needed such verification within our community. I have now had to stop payment, and am sending a new check. This time, because of the greed driven negligence caused by the administrators at Boise Radiology Group, and billing offices operated by PBSWEST, I am having to pay for the check to be processed as certified mail, signature required, with tracking. These administrators should not be sending our money to strangers who have built their reputation by attempting to ruin the credit of members of our local community through apparent deceptive and predatory billing behaviors. All of the other services performed in our local hospitals are payable through the patient portal. But, NOT Boise Radiology Group. What a failed fiasco these administrators have caused. Nothing but problems. In a perfect world, they would be replaced with people who take interest in the members of our community, with people who preserve and protect the values that have built the Treasure Valley into one of the most respected communities on Earth. read more

This feels like a company run by bad humans. I was mailed a statement on 9/20, with a due date of 10/5, and written off to collections on 10/26. I now know this because, in spite of payments continuing to be made by me and my insurance company, my first call this Christmas Eve morning was from a collections agency. WTAF?!? I guess in future, I will avoid any kind of screening or assessment that involves this business as I would, literally, rather die than get sucked into their torturous billing system again. **Edited 1/31/18** I received a call this morning from Boise Radiology. The woman I spoke with was helpful, personable, and understanding. She mentioned that the system they use is prehistoric and will be getting updated soon (i.e. - paper statements vs electronic) and that I was not the first to complain about the tactics used by the collections agency. The agency is called Professional Finance Company, Inc. and has over 20 complaints filed against them. Original Review - I am shocked at how this billing was handled. I am willing, able, and happy to pay my bill, but was sent to collections after one written letter. No call, no email, no follow up. Honestly I had forgotten all about it since I pay my medical bills on St. Luke's Bill Pay and this never showed up. About a week ago a collections company called and demanded I identify myself without any indication of who they were. They were abrasive and rude...I was so confused I even checked my credit to see what the problem was. Then I receive a letter in the mail, a demand for payment, and cannot speak with ANYONE over the phone to discuss. What poor customer service. In my case Boise Radiology provided services for an in-network procedure. My Insurance Select Heath sent me an EBO stating I would not be charged anything, this was a covered procedure under contract with St. Luke's, Boise radiology, and Select Health. Boise Radiology either didn't code the claim correctly or was incompetent in doing so. Select Health assured me this was on them and I would not be billed. Now 5yrs later this has gone to collections and I am being sued for the bill. I have disputed this account multiple time over the years and provided documentation on the claim being the responsibility of Boise Radiology and Select Health. The Insurance company claims Boise Radiology had the opportunity to correct the coding and get paid. Select Health claims this is in violation of their contract to bill me for this account. However here I am sitting in the cold being sued for a bill Insurance would have paid and should have paid if Boise Radiology would have done their job. St. Luke's got paid, Doctors got paid. But because Boise Radiology was incompetent they didn't get paid and think it's legal to sue me for this. This should be criminal and or fraud to do this to patients. I guess I was lucky when I got through and the lady was actually helpful. I was beyond shocked on how this group handles it's billing. The VERY FIRST BILL received said it was OVERDUE and was threatening that I would be sent to collections. What? On the first bill? You apparently don't even get a chance to pay it without threats. One week after said bill arrived, the threatening phone calls began. Unbelievable. I pay my bills on time. An initial notification of payment due would go a long way in customer service. My recommendation to all is to ask the question when having studies done, on who will read it and if the answer is Boise Radiology Group, DECLINE. Are you kidding me?!! I never receive a bill and they know this because it got returned to them and they told me. I ask them how they could have the wrong address as I've lived here for 2 yrs. They told me the address was never updated. Really?!?! That's not what St. Lukes Financial dept. says. They sent me to collections. They said they called me once and left a message, which I never got. They said, it was policy that even though I never got a bill, the phone call(again, which I never got), sealed the deal to send me to collections. Do they not have a policy that a person gets a bill delivered to their correct address (which you were given)? I tried calling a number of times and they wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. Let me advise anyone dealing with this organization, if your billing from this company is sent to a collections company/agent of any form contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They use collection companies that will immediately report the billing debt to your credit report which is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL. As it is with my case, I had a car accident, had some scans done to make sure I was alright. I was not at fault in the accident so Allstate insurance was liable for all bills. After I received the 1st bill I turned it over to my attorney who contacted them and informed them this was part of a insurance settlement claim. 2 months later I see my credit report drop 18 points of all 3 credit reporting agencies (Transunions, Exquifax, and Experian). I pulled up my credit report and they had turned me over to a collections agency in Colorado. After seeing this I contacted the FTC and a law firm to verify what I already knew. These are the facts - 1. No agency or company with the purpose to collect a debt can enter any transaction onto your credit file without a LEGAL JUDGEMENT in the state of origination. Meaning they would have to taken you to court, you would have lost (which would never happen as soon as the judge knew it was part of a settlement claim). It 97% would be thrown out of court right there. 2. Any agency or compnay with the purpose to collect a debt that enters a transaction onto your credit without seeking and winning a legal judgement against is in willful non-compliance of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (Sec. 604 and 624) and are then subject to ONE notice from the consumer to remove the transaction. They should be given 72 business hours to remove it. 3. If it is not removed in the 72 business, you then contact the FTC and report them for being non-compliant. At that point they can be sanctioned at $5000 a day until the entry is removed from your credit report. The next part of that if your credit report is affected by their actions then you will have grounds for a civil lawsuit for defamation of character and slander because if anyone were to view your credit report decisions would be made on what they saw on your report. If you do not believe what I am stating please contact the FTC and an Idaho state attorney and have it verified. Learn to protect yourself from companies like this because the will have no regard for you or your reputation. read more

The MRI's were administered in the St. Lukes Meridian Hospital and service during the MRI was fine. Please be warned, they will send you to collections if payment is not made within 60 days. Two MRI's on the same DOS, different locations of the body. 1st statement 2 days after the MRI showing only one of the MRI's and the co-pay due. 2nd statement dated a few days after the first showed 2 MRI's. By the time I received the next statement, back to one MRI on it. Called and made payment on what was on that final statement. Turns out the first MRI's copay had already been sent to collections and that is why it wasn't on the latest statement (even though they were for the same DOS). Received debt collections calls and statements. Very confused. If that other MRI would have been on the statement, I could have paid both and never been sent to debt collections. Customer Service tried to explain the automated billing and that was why they were in different cycles, yet they were for the same DOS. Very frustrated with their payment/statement system. read more

Be very careful before ever allowing these people to do any sort of imaging without first enquiring about cost. Medical professionals are very quick to order tests without disclosing costs, but it is we, the patients, who end up with outrageous bills. This group charged $324.00 to read a ct scan. It probably took them all of 5 minutes since they misdiagnosed it. The results came back saying it was a possible limpoma (benign soft tissue tumor), when in fact the small hard lump on my cheek was what I had said it was all along - a blocked duct of some sort - since it went away a day or so after having the cat-scan. The total bill from St Luke's and the Boise Radiology group came to almost $2000.00 for a procedure that took less than 10 minutes. There was no reason to have the scan because the biopsy had come back showing normal cells. I can only assume that given the outrageous costs, the doctor, Scott Morrill of St Luke's primary health, got a kick back and that's why he ordered it. read more
