This review is specifically for Dr. Bridges. She's awesome!…read more It's so nice be listened to, heard and given the courtesy of direct and clear replies to questions. Spine surgery is a big deal. I've had two consults before where the doctors pretty much said "here's what you need" and then just expected me to do it without questions, research and serious consideration. Dr. Bridges is the opposite. She flat-out said high risk, gave me real numbers on complication rates, discussed options even if it wasn't in her wheelhouse and referred me to someone who specializes in an option I want to explore. No detectable ego which makes her more credible in my eyes. I'm well aware weight is always a factor in surgeries and since my colon resection and the unexpected consequence of the high carb post op diet, I'm all too aware of my current size. i don't sugar coat it. She doesn't sugar coat it. Need to keep this stuff real. She wasn't rude, just matter of fact. I really appreciate that. Quick digression: She told me that because I would be face-down during surgery and I've got a bigger belly than usual, that pushes all the blood up towards the spine and can make me bleed more. I hadn't even thought about that. Only airway and anesthesia. Makes sense but I never even thought of it. So, I left with an X-ray order for both hips since my recent trip to the ER it's unclear if I had severe hip pain because there's something wrong with my hip or if it's an extension of the spine problem. (duh, wonder why ER didn't do that?) Also got referral to a doctor who specializes in an option that I researched to see if it's even viable for my injury AND a referral to Salt Lake because they have more advanced equipment to handle how complicated this is and I might need to go out of town. If I have to go to Salt Lake, I wish Dr. Bridges could go too and make sure some jackass doesn't get stupid on me. I have pretty much had my fill of doctors and trust is hard to come by.

I would be sure to ask about pricing before you go the this ER. 1300 charge, just to go to the ER…read morefor a wrist injury, not including the nearly 2000 dollars for 2 X-rays. No doctors, all physicians' assistants, at the ER!Started at urgent care, but the nurse was in charge of taking the X-rays. The nurse expressed concern about being able to get the X-rays done. Okay, you're clearly not trained to do this role. Instead of focusing on saving money by having lower skilled employees doing the job, give quality care, with appropriate staff. I never would have gone to the ER if the urgent care staff was appropriately staffed, with an X Ray technician. I didn't want to have my family member endure extra pain, and additional X-rays, if the nurse couldn't correctly take the X-rays. Clearly an administrative problem. Staff was kind. I'm hoping they do the right thing and adjust the charges. Any charge should be attached to a service provided, not just you went to the ER and saw a Physician's assistant for less than 10 minutes. Ridiculous! Make it right, St. Al's.

I've had a couple appointments sprinkled in for infusions or fun ED visits. But my whole journey with St. Luke's started in 2004 when I had my daughter. I adore a majority of the employees in registration. I love Lucas the most! He's so vibrant, kind and caring. I aim to see him every Monday as he starts my week off right! There's nothing better than having someone like Lucas start your day with so much happiness. He exudes so much love and sunshine Everyone in labs are great! Lily has always stood out to me as a leader. She handles my labs like a boss and is very thorough. Not every poke is the best but they all do a great job! They all take their time to get what I need tested and send me on my way. We have gotten to know each other after 9 months worth of labs. I have had a few infusions for iron done post transplant. All the nurses in the infusion center is so great! Some of the nurses have it down to a science inserting the i.v. without it being crazy painful. They have a neat machine that helps locate the IV. It eliminates the guessing game of finding the vein. I was always checked up on and made sure I was solid before they let me go. I did have a few ED visits after my transplant. One visit was when I was sepsis. Unfortunately, they couldn't do much for my here and was sent to U of U for the rest of my care. But, the DR that took care of me in November was very great. I also did stop into the ED to grab a couple bags for a drain line that I had installed. Those two visits, the nurses were so great! They got me a new bag for my drain line without having to be admitted. I could only imagine the total cost of having to go through the ED for a bag.... I wish I could give the hospital 5 stars cause each department that I have interacted with are fantastic. Unfortunately, the staff at the front desk are just awful. They are so rude! And it kills me every week when I come in and have to start the first part of my day with these grumpy people. They are literally the first people you interact with before a procedure, visiting a baby, a family member that is super sick. How fun is it to have some bitter person at the front set the tone of your purpose at the hospital? I just give them my ID and make my way to registration. I don't want to absorb any of their negativity. If you hate being in the front, maybe you should consider another department. Pretty sad honestly having to deal with them every Monday. I know I have much more to do with my new kidney at this hospital. I will just continue sharing my journey and happiness with the appropriate people at the here. All I know is that the front desk are in a desperate need of a hug and smile.

Super busy day, and I could tell based off the parking lot alone. I walked in with my mother, who is visibly not well, and the receptionist working was absolutely terrible. Horrible attitude. Just uncaring, not polite whatsoever. Very blunt and rude with her questions, had a scowl on her face, and looked irritated as my mom is giving her information. I, mistakenly, mentioned "I'm not sure if you know, but there's a wet puddle on the floor". Mid sentence she rudely cut me off, "I know. Someone's coming. We see it". I said, "ok, sorry to bother you at work". Walked away. Triage nurses? 10 gold stars. I acknowledged their stresses, and they were absolute angels. Once we were able to get a room, we waited. Understandable given how busy they were. When the ER doctor came in he was TREMENDOUS. While I'm sure he was over the day he maintained great bedside manner, looked us in the eye, patient, and super caring. 10 stars for him. The CNA that came in before him was also super nice, and patient. The RN? lol RUDE. Seemed annoyed my mom was asking questions, and just flat out annoyed with people breathing it felt. Between the receptionist and the RN, the tension and annoyance was so palpable I felt uncomfortable being someplace where people are supposed to be professional. Again, I get being stressed out and with Dr Google, I totally get the frustration.. human moments are forgivable, but this? Never again. The ONLY reason I gave this 2 stars was for triage, the CNA, and the ER Dr. They were actually really nice given the circumstances. I typically don't do reviews often, but this was enough for me say something. I plan on calling the feedback line as well. I always talked about how great St Luke's is, but after today it's not likely I'd recommend their care again.I

So, it was nice to have a 5 minute drive to my appointment since this office is down the road from me. The receptionist here is so nice! The downtown location should take a couple lessons from the Eagle location. The receptionist smiled at me. She was kind asking me my general check in questions. She had personality. These basic skills are lacked in 90% of the people who work in registration downtown. If I can have all my appointments here, I would. I hung out in the waiting area till it was my turn. Zach, the imaging tech called me back to the scanning room. He went through the process of the scan with me and guided on how my properly lay on the scan machine. He had me position my legs differently for a couple scans. And before I knew it, I was done. It was quite an easy process which was nice. My other appointments require getting poked at. The Eagle office is night and day compared to Downtown. They are so nice here. It's a smaller facility with an Urgent Care unit which is nice for non emergency visits. It bums me out that I have to deal with the rude receptionists and security check in staff when I'm Downtown. But it was nice to see how the other half are treated at this location. I will have to get more appointments fulfilled here. I leave happy which is nice.
