I don't know how this location gets five stars. We came inside and waited in line, and about the time we got to the front, some woman who acted like a manager walked to the counter, not looking at anyone, yelled that they were out of chicken, and wandered off. No apology first, no explanation, just rudeness. They were not actually out of chicken, when we got to the counter, we could see chicken in the serving bins, so we asked about it. The clerk whispered that they had chicken, but they just failed to cook enough for the night and would likely have more in an hour. Something this manager could have said. The fact that they leaned over the counter and whispered and how they said it made clear they were in a hostile work environment with a poor manager. That information should have been told to the staff, not yelled to the whole restaurant without completing the information with "Hey, we're sorry, but we are running low and won't have more chicken ready for an hour," Or "Sorry, we screwed up and did not make enough chicken, but here's a coupon for making you wait in line instead of closing" Or close the store if you're out of food and not waste the customer's time. How you deliver bad news and how it's received is a matter of how you state things. A little humility, looking us in the eyes, waiting for a second to again show some empathy, or communicating with the customer-facing staff first isn't all that hard. There was no effort made to steer us to the chicken in the bins, which apparently was being held back for the drive-thru despite displaying it out front. What kind of Chicken joint runs out of chicken at the dinner hour? If this was the first week of operations, I could understand, but it's not. We don't even know if we would like Bojangles, as this was our first and probably only experience with this chain. Terrible customer service, terrible planning, terrible management. I stopped by here on my drive in to Jacksonville. I went through the drive thru and a short wait. I placed an order for a 3 piece no bone in chicken meal with a side of dirty rice, an included biscuit and an extra side of green beans. The customer service that I experienced was friendly and courteous. Upon trying my food, I found that it was tasty and freshly prepared for the most part. It was also warm. 2 out of 3 of my chicken pieces came out this way but I did have 1 piece that was dry and not fresh. My dirty rice was yummy and flavorful and so were my green beans! My sweet tea was also good and had light ice in as instructed. Overall, I had a good impression of this location. read more

The food is what you expect from Bojangles....."comfort food" at an affordable value. I want to highlight that this restaurant is very clean! They have persons constantly cleaning off the tables. I am visiting from Texas, but I've noticed that this is a neighborhood gathering spot for many of the locals, especially in the mornings. Had to go in each time to remind them. 1st time was 25 minutes, 2nd was 45, this 3rd/last and FINAL time was 15 minutes... And the bottom of the box fell out on the way home. Long story short... they did not want to make a Bo Berry biscuit so they told us 7 minutes. After 15 minutes, we went in to find biscuits in the warmer. We also told them our order was short but they told us we did not order what we were tray but wouldn't pull up our order either. Thumbs up to the young man who was cleaning the dining area as we was trying to help us. He was the one not rude in the store. There is another location to far from this one. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. The dumpster behind Waffle House has better service. I came here to get 3 chicken boxes. Not exactly a brain buster. "3 chicken boxes, all with fries, 2 teas and a coke". Certainly not rocket surgery. The doofus running the (obviously incredibly complicated) register had a pretty tough time pressing the "chicken box with fries" button 3 times. Also, having to get dissimilar drinks was just too much for her. After spending 5 minutes of my life explaining to her that I wanted 2 teas and a coke, not 3 teas (because then she'd have to ring up one of the boxes separately or something), she finally got my order right. Good thing, because based on her attitude, this was a HUGE inconvenience to her and kept her from, I dunno, inventing the cure for cancer or whatever she must have been doing between taking orders that was so much more important. Once I finally talked her into ringing my super complicated order up correctly, I approached the window. Her attitude suuuuuuuucked. She acted like I was some big bother and that she had 100 other, better things to be doing than serving my sad self some chicken boxes with fries. In between explaining Quantum Entanglement to her coworkers (I can only assume), she took my money without ever actually looking at me, then attempted to hand me a coke that looked like it was Joe Pemberton's first attempt. There was pop dripping down every available external surface of the cup. I said, with a politeness she did not deserve, "Is there any way you could wipe that off before I take it?" You'd think I asked her to hand wash every window on the outside of the freakin Sears Tower. I cannot attest to the quality of the food. I was getting food for friends. I personally grabbed McDonalds on the way back to the house (where I received marginally better service). But my recommendation is to avoid this black hole of suck at all costs. Nothing on their menu is worth the complete garbage human beings that you have to interact with to get it. If they wrapped every piece of chicken in 100 dollar bills and each biscuit came with a winning lottery ticket... maybe. MAYBE. Otherwise, move on down the road. Okay so the first time I went through was in the afternoon my order was correct but one of the pieces of chicken was dry and very old, so I called and I just wanted the one piece for placed the manager or the person that answered the phone was nice enough and said he would replace my whole entire meal so after I went back after work the lady at the drive-thru when I told her that it was to replace a meal she said bring your receipt around to the window then ask if there was anything else didn't ask how else she can help us nothing. Then when we got to the window she I start trying to explain to her what happened. She said oh you don't have to tell me I'll replace it everything here on the receipt. So I said okay and I sat I waited I checked my food everything looks fine except I asked do I get a drink with this and she said well what was wrong with your drink when you got your first drink I said nothing but the guy said that he would replace it with a meal and he said and she said I see why you got your food replaced but I don't see why we have to give you a drink I immediately handed the food over to my daughter. I said no I'm not going to ask for a drink and I said have a good evening and I drive away that was the most rudest manager I have ever met because someone said they would replace the meal and with the meal was the drink I didn't ask for a replacement I didn't ask for those things it was offered to me and I said okay so now they got a bad review from me because this lady flat out was the rudest person I've ever met in my whole entire life. I tried finding out what her name was the first name started with the c and I think the last name started with an m but she quickly blocked her name tag so I couldn't see it when I was looking so I will be calling back tomorrow to see who this person is. I can understand people having a bad day but you don't need to take it out on someone that's innocently just trying to do what she was offered. Yes this location ruined it for me. When I was living in Texas, I always wanted to come home and eat bojangles. Now that Iive 2 minutes from one, I never went back after my first experience there. As soon as we walked in, the dining room was dirty. Every table was full of trash. When I walked up to counter to place my order, the cashier wasn't comprehending because he was high as fuck. People in the back were loud as hell and cursing. After 20 minutes of waiting for the food, the cashier finally gave us our order which by the way cold and looked like been sitting in the back for a while. The customer behind us was so furious because he had to wait longer and his order was wrong. He wasted his lunch waiting on a messed up order. read more

This place is just awful, I went there one night ordered two tailgate boxes, the guy I was talking to on the speaker of the drive thru was really nice, he said they have no dark meat ready yet but they were almost done and shouldn't be no more than a 15 minute wait. I pulled up by the door and sat there for almost an hour in a half...I called them and asked them if they forgot about me and he sounded embarrassed when he said no and he apologized for the wait when I heard some crazy woman in the background yell "IT'LL GET TO THEM WHEN IT'S FREAKING READY!" I've been to this location many times, it has slowly gone down hill. Being told I'll have to wait is sometimes common, I accept that. Being told they don't know how long the wait is and being encouraged to get a refund is ridiculous. This spot isn't even a year old. I'm done giving it chances. Horrible service and food. We waited over 30 minutes in the drive thru, this was after waiting about 10 minutes just to pay. Got our food, pulled away and looked back and someone was chasing us thru the parking lot screaming bc they forgot half of our order. I normally don't write reviews but my family was so disappointed in our order today at 4:16pm. I spent $30 and my order wasn't complete I always ordered a large slaw and got 3 Individual ones and the amount doesn't even compare. No sauce and was missing chicken. If you don't mind waiting 30 minutes for food for two people or less, then yes this is the place to visit. I've been here three times and it will be my last visit to this Bojangles location. Majority of the employees seem to care about socializing with one another than actually working. Poor overall service for a restaurant that hasn't been open for at least a year. read more
