If you look at my review history and check ins, it's easy to see I am not just a car guy, but a fanatic. In the last 15 years, I've purchased autos from Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Subaru and Acura. In this latest purchase of a 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, I worked the deal remotely with the Team at Bolton and the experience was fantastic. I did finance a portion of the car and we did all of that remotely as well so I basically could drive over to the dealer (80 miles away), spend 20 minutes at the dealership going over a few things and I was on my way. I wish all auto purchases were this smooth. I'd highly recommended Bolton and a small fact I was given is that the salesman are not commission based, so they spend the time helping you find the right car and not just "a car they have that you can afford", which makes a big difference in the experience. Utilized Bolton Ford Service Department in Lake Charles, Louisiana for my 2022 Ford F-150 headlight recall. Upon arrival sales Representative Joshua Cross personality was very stale and very persistent to charge fees for recalls that were already performed and double the cost for services. I called another Ford dealership while waiting on my vehicle on various service fees. Then when asking to speak to a manager. The fees were reduced and played off as just misunderstanding. Tried to charge for a reprogram of air dam shutter in front grille and the technician told him it already had the update. Tried to charge for a rear end recall already completed. What an experience!!!!! I don't believe this is a reflection on the dealership but one on that individual!!! He needs diversity, Sensitivity and customer service training! read more

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO THIS PLACE! THEY'RE HORRIBLE PEOPLE PREYING ON BLACK, SINGLE MOTHERS! I wouldn't give them not even 1 star! Its sickening and sad that the service manager would openly LIE TO a customer about a vehicle that has giving me trouble since 3 weeks after I brought it! I took it in after having to wait 3 weeks for an appointment and having to find a ride to work every day. I took it in this morning with the "check engine" light on and the left driver side wheel was pointing outward. I also elaborated about how when I would start the vehicle up, there was a big ball of smoke that would come from the tail pipe. I also have proof of something being wrong with the "emissions system" that I spoke about. Before I went to pick up my car, I sat there and looked up my car warranty. It stated that the parts in which needed to be replaced for the "low oil pressure" light and the "emissions system" would be covered by the warranty. I then looked at the codes on the screen and it was stating that my car "had no issues" which couldn't be correct because he had just told me what was wrong with the "Oil Pressure low". So I questioned about how my vehicle "check engine" light could be on and when they put the machine on it, nothing popped up? Once I got there, he retracted his statement and said he didn't know if his guy put my car on the machine? I then asked what I was paying for? I was charged this amount of money and these people didn't even make sure their guy put my vehicle on the machine to check for everything? When I asked to retrieve my car, my car came out with both of my front end tires now being bottom outward. My car had been tampered with in some kind of way and I instead of being truthful this man choose to lie in my face. I plan on taking this as far as I can legally to make sure I get justice and to be sure that no one else is taken advantage of by this place. It was the service manager Mike who did this! I purchased a 2019 Ford Expedition Max from Brookshire Hyundai their brother store on March 2, 2023. After roughly a month it started to have transmission issues. So many issues my total bill as of right now is 4,023.43. Thankfully I bought an extended warranty to cover it. I put it in the shop on April 26, 3023. I have been given a total of 4 rental cars since then and we are in July. They still currently have my car. I understand it is a used car and used cars can have issues but I was informed everything was checked over prior to my purchase. I was told my transmission pump was in stock but I still have yet to receive my car. I get that other things come up but the issue I have is July 13, 2023. I get a text with pictures saying my car has some under body damage and they asked after three months working on my transmission if I was aware of it. NO I was not aware of it and I was asked if I would like to have it fixed but my warranty wouldn't cover it. My issue is you have test drove my car a good bit adding over 300 miles to it since being in the shop and now you're telling me it has issues. My car was in for transmission problems but you never looked under my car. I called my extended warranty company and they informed me that to fix my car it would require about 11 hours of work and that would require dropping the transmission so this isn't something they couldn't have not noticed during drop off or sooner then 3 months. It sounds like to me someone in the service department hit something and trying to cover it up. I can't complain about the manger in sales he was super friendly and helpful, but I have nothing for any of the service advisors I have dealt with. read more

My wife and I had to drive all the way from Austin Texas to Lake Charles Louisiana do you find the right vehicle we thought would be the best fit, which was especially hard to find, because of the chip shortage. Even with the distance and chip shortage, pattrick Miller and Jason Landry made the experience as great as it could've been. Our bank was an hour away so they offered to drive it to my home THAT SAME DAY... turns out they were too busy which is understandable but don't tell me you can do something and not, we ended up just going back up there and giving them the check and getting the car. Avoid Bolton Ford at all costs. They really showed they do not care about service. I have a new 2016 Cmax that had a dead battery. I called many times and kept getting voicemail or when transferred the line would drop. Finally I got through, explained, and asked for a tow and Glen said ok, and I gave him my address. He said they could not work on the car that day and they did not offer loaners. I would have to walk to enterprise to get a rental. Then an hour later I called to see where the tow truck was and he said "oh we can't do that (order tows)". Then I got my own tow truck. When the car got there all Bolton did was jump start and charge the battery. They told me nothing else was wrong. I felt this was a bad conclusion but figured they were the experts. A few days later the car died again. This time I went to Tarver. The tech at Tarver did a five minute internet search and found the problem: a bad program specific to cars built in my cars batch. This error causes a draw on the battery that can kill it. A software update fixes the problem. I still like fords because they fit my body type, but will not but from Lake Charles. read more

Recently purchased my first vehicle from here and wish I had done buissness with ANYONE else. My salesman was nice and decently helpful untill it came to the paper work. When we were finalizing everything to send to my bank for my loan he asked if I wanted to do something like "etching" to my vehicle. I had never heard of it and when I asked he told me that my banker would be able to explain it to me. I then go to the bank and try to finalize everything for my loan and my loan officer tells me that the price is almost 800 dollars more than what I had asked to borrow. Apparently etching referes to etching the VIN number of the vehicle onto every part in case it is stolen and taken apart. The salesman tried to take advantage of my ignorance and ruined my first buying experience. Do Not Do Buissness With These People!!!! read more

The Finance Manager who did my paperwork, JASON LANDRY, sold me a "One-hundred thousand miles or sixty months, bumper to bumper warranty. He NEVER stated that the sixty months began from the date the car was INITIALLY sold. I recently called Jason Landry multiple times to get the details of the "warranty," as I needed to utilize said warranty. He never called me back. I can't say enough good things about my recent car buying experience at Bolton Ford Lake Charles. My salesman, Tommy Fitzgerald, and his team including Joe Elmer and Chad Knippa were more than kind, accommodating, hassle free, and professional during our entire transaction. We received a more than fair value on our trade in vehicle and hassle free negotiations on the new vehicle price. Me and my wife's experience was spread across about a 5 day period and the entire time Tommy and myself kept in great communication with each of my calls being answered with a friendly voice glad to assist. During this 5 day period he put my wife in a vehicle to demo and worked to find us the perfect vehicle that fit into our budget, met, and even exceeded our expectations. There were so many small things Tommy did during the vehicle location period to make sure we did not have any unexpected surprises when the vehicle was delivered to us at the dealership. Small things like making us aware of the mileage and any slight differences in the vehicles feature package from the one we demoed. As a quick note the vehicle we purchased had more features and was less expensive than the one that was demoed. An example of a small detail that caught us off guard was that we had accidentally left our garage door opener in the demo vehicle and Tommy retrieved it and had it placed on our purchased vehicles visor without us having to ask about it. Tommy worked hard throughout the week to make the deal happen and even stayed late on a Friday night after closing hours to make sure we were fully satisfied with our purchase. To sum this review up, I have purchased vehicles in the past from out of town dealers as well as local and each has caused frustration, headaches, and anxiety during the buying process. Tommy and his team at Bolton has changed my outlook on making a vehicle purchase and raised the bar to a great height that will be hard for other dealerships to meet. I went to Bolton Ford on October 26, 2020, I had a battery changed and I had to wait to get my car. On my way home I smelled fuel it scared me after all I didn't get any work done dealing with fuel. I was waiting to get home to open the hood. When I looked up at my headliner in my car to find oil all over my sun visor and headliner. I went back to Bolton Ford and I spoke to a supervisor he said it was the worker hat. Good service comes with carefullyness and returning a vehicle back the way it was given to you. Straight garbage service department. My 2018 F-150 started losing radiator fluid in January of 2021. I booked an appointment with Bolton to get it fixed. While it was in the shop I asked them to fix my broken sunroof as well as it would not open. I had to wait a month for an appointment. After I dropped off my truck at the end of February for the scheduled appointment they didn't start work on it for 3 days. I got a call from the service department after a week. They said they misdiagnosed the problem with the sunroof and it would be another $2500 for parts alone to get it fixed. I told them I wasn't doing that. They told me I still had to pay for the $700 because even though it wasn't fixed they did work on it. I begrudgingly paid. After a week I found out the coolant is still leaking AND the sunroof works just fine. I feel like they tried to defraud me of $2500 for the sunroof. It's been 10 months and the sunroof still works fine. A week later I discovered coolant still leaking so I called several times a week for 3 weeks about the coolant still leaking and left many messages. No one would call back. After a month I got someone on the phone. They told me that it would be another 2 months before they could look at it again. When I argued with them and made the point that they should take me back in immediately as the problem I originally brought the truck in for was not fixed they told me that they absolutely fixed the problem. Further, they said that my truck must have developed a NEW radiator leak in the week after they worked on it OR I was lying about the radiator leak entirely. I will never purchase another Ford vehicle in my life because of this frustrating and incompetent service department that invents problems to overcharge for and doesn't fix the actual problems, but will lie to your face saying they did. read more

I purchased a new 2020 Mustang convertible from Bolton Ford. The buying experience was hassle free. After arriving home, I realized there was no bracket for the front license plate. I sent a text to the salesman who responded one would be sent to me. Picking it up was not an option as I live 150 miles away. After a week, I sent another text. The salesman informed me it had to be ordered but he would check on it and send it. The bracket didn't arrive so I assumed it would be sent with the license plates. I received a call from the dealership several weeks later informing me the plates had been received and they would be sending those to me. I asked about the bracket. The lady to whom I spoke stated she would get with the salesperson. A few days later, I received the plates sans bracket. I called the salesperson. He apologized for the error and assured me the bracket would be sent. After waiting another week, I sent an email via the dealership's website explaining the situation. My only request at that point was that if they were not going to honor their word to extend the courtesy of letting me know. The next day I received a text from the salesperson confirming my address. Several weeks later, still no bracket OR communication that they will not be sending one. At the time of purchase, it was late in the day on a Saturday. I took my company vehicle there yesterday to get a new rim and tire. I wasn't surprised that it would have to be ordered. Not a problem. The problem lies in that they put the spare FLAT. I got to an air pump and filed it from the 15psi it was to the 60psi it should be. As I leave I sti feel it wobbling and squealing. As u am driving 20 MPH down a busy street a guy on a bike wheels up to me to tell me the spare us wobbly and looks like it's ready to fly off. Sure enough I had to take off the spare and re attach it EVENLY. thank gawd I was driving slowly. We use these guys for our "preventive maintenance thru AIR and they are usuall good. For a long time I refuse to shop here because of a bad car buying experience when I was younger. I decided about 4 years ago that with the change in management and the son taking over "King Bolton" that maybe things have change and I would give them another shot. Sadly nothing has changed, it's basically the Same Song & Dance. The salesman themselves do a great job of getting you in there and selling you a vehicle however that's where the trouble begins. The service after the sale here is atrocious and that's the nicest way I could put it on Google. Hell even getting an oil change is a fiasco, one in which you better be prepared to stand in line for. I'm not sure if they don't have enough techs or bays available to service all their vehicles or they're just simply out of real estate to pack them all in. You're lucky if you can even find a parking spot to park to get anywhere. We bought a Ford Explorer there brand new and after two terrible experience is there trying to get simple recall work done we never went back and don't plan to. We will now gladly Drive 45 minutes to Bubba oustalet in Jennings who took us in with open arms even though we did not buy a vehicle there and met everyone of our post sale service needs with a smile on their face. read more

Every time I was there different employees told me different things. Even managers told me conflicting policies regarding the service of my vehicle. Wait times are RIDICULOUS!!!
