I went here today for lunch after having not eaten here for nearly two years. When I was here before, they offered a lunch buffet for like 7,50 (all you can eat) and had different ownership (I believe). This place closed temporarily last year to refurbish and change up management for a while.
The last time I was here, the lunch buffet was pretty decent. I mean, not stellar, but decent enough to enjoy for the low price. Now it is just awful.
There were two meat options, both chicken. One was chicken tikka and one was chicken mango (never heard of this dish, but seemed very catered to the German palate). There was also a channa masala and an aloo mutter on the buffet. Also there was rice, a dessert pudding looking thing, raita, salad, and naan bread.
The chicken tikka was the best thing on the buffet and it wasn't great, but had a little hint of seasoning and flavor. The chicken mango was horrible. Just horrible. It was so sweet, yet flavorless at the same time. I don't know how Germans can eat this (the restaurant had not one Indian person in there, but all Germans). The aloo mutter was okay, but again, flavorless. And the channa masala was flavorless, too. And the chickpeas were underdone. It just wasn't tasty. The raita tasted like plain yogurt and didn't have any flavor, either. The naan bread was really good though.
I don't really know what to say regarding this place. The service was very nice and the buffet is now like 8,50. I am very sad that this place's food quality went severely downhill. I should have just walked the extra few steps and went over to my beloved Ganesha. read more
