DO NOT GIVE Bombshell Waxing Mandeville ANY OF YOUR MONEY. back in 2018, I decided to get a 1 year membership ($35/month) with this company because the deal seemed too good to be true. it was. after going a few times, it was very clear that they did not care about the satisfaction of the customer and simply wanted to get you in and out as fast as possible. the lack of privacy between the rooms in the space is also slightly uncomfortable, considering you can hear everyone's conversations around you. i decided to stop going, and assumed that after the 1 year mark (since it was a 1 year membership), being December 2019, they would no longer be taking money from my account monthly. BOY WAS I WRONG. mind you, there was NOTHING in the contract about automatic renewal of membership. i got this confirmed by two different lawyers. These awful people have been taking $35-55 from my bank account for 17 MONTHS illegally. I've sent a letter to officially cancel my membership and requested a refund for the months I did not sign up for, and have heard nothing back in almost a month. These people are greedy and DO NOT care about their customers. Please think twice before giving them your money, even if it's not through a membership. Side note: if you need a good waxing, go see Lisa at Oasis Spa because SHE knows what she's doing and is much more professional. I cannot rave about her enough. read more

I had/have (since it's impossible to cancel it) a membership here and now I understand the high turn over rate. Since I started my membership in October 2020, I've had 5 different estheticians. I will say, Jillian is amazing, but the fact that no matter what or how I do it, I can't cancel my membership. I've filed disputes with my bank, I've tried calling, and you're directed to their website where you have to make an appointment AND PAY to talk to someone. I've put in requests for cancellations since November of 2021 and they're still charging my account. If Jillian were at any other salon, I'd go. Please do yourself a favor and don't sign up for anything annually. You'll be pulling your hair out. read more

The business is managed very poorly, and they basically stole from all their customers during the pandemic by saying they were "unable to stop the automatic drafts" for monthly memberships. Then when they reopened they issued gift cards to THEIR OWN BUSINESS instead of refunding our money. I threw mine in the trash. I switched to Waxing the City after that and it's SUCH an improvement! I have to drive across the lake, but it's worth it to go to a real business that knows how to treat its customers. read more

UPDATE: funny how things change! Since this date four years ago I've seen at least 4 different estheticians without fair warning that a new person would be the provider of my services. I worked for many years in a dental office with service providers and appointment schedules. People get accustomed to their provider so if there's a change needed good customer service says to inform the client and let them decide if they'd want to reschedule or see a new person. I completely understand change of circumstances, so the first time this happened I expressed my shock but went with it. The second time it happened I made it known that I'd like notice in the future. The manager, at the time, spoke to me privately and assured me that all this was written down in my file, that I was valued as a loyal customer, and any future changes would be handled before the appointment day and time. Then it happened Again. And again. Last month they said they didn't see any such notes in my file. Really?! Of course there's no manager, or maybe it's just a new one who hasn't defined herself, but it's beyond ridiculous. I typically roll with the punches because believe me, I understand, but this is getting to be a bit much. My sister as I always make appointments together so we can trade off our young children. The past few months not only have our providers changed but our appointment times have been tweaked as well, all without us knowing in advance. So Wednesday we go and they have the audacity to tell me next time I'll be charged a fee since I was 5 minutes late. (I wasn't!) In fact, I went in on arrival to let them know my sister would soon be there to take my toddler but NO ONE was manning the front desk. So I went to wait in the car and she pulled up. They tried denying seeing one of us but they "made it work" when we insisted. After both appointments there's another customer in there having issues as well. So we heard her story in the parking lot. All this to say is that management of this location has gotten progressively worse and someone needs to rectify the situation before you go out of business. Review from 4 years ago: I went for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively painless it was. I had Randi and I think her talking to me during the procedure helped distract me. My daughter has an account with them and is a student in Baton Rouge and and wanted to cancel her account they informed her that she had to write a letter of reason for canceling the account, plus she had to either deliver it to the owner or mail it to her. Then they would review it and cancel it only after the charged her to cancel the account. Who does this? She's moving to Lafayette and can not make her appointments so she wanted to freeze the account but this was only for 60 days. Be very careful and read the fine print. This is not good business practices. My next comment will be a letter to the Better Business Bureau and the chamber of commerce for St. Tammany Parish. read more

I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place! I was super nervous coming here for my first time and getting...my lady bits waxed lol. Everyone was super friendly, reassuring, quick and professional. I was surprised at how much it didn't hurt. The wax was a comfortable temperature and my skin can be sensitive sometimes. They are clean and I did not see any double dipping. I had a Groupon so I also got my eyebrows waxed. It was mice having the mapping done to see where my brows should be. The experience from the beginning was so subpar. I walked into the shop and was not greeted by the employee "Camille" at the counter. I walked up and still was not greeted, standing there like hello. I showed up 7 mins early for my appointment, then waited 20 minutes to be seen. I filled out the waiver at front and marked I had an allergy to honey (I don't, just a strong preference against honey). Tracy did not offer her name when she took me back OR even ask what I was getting done. So I asked her name, told her my two treatments, then mentioned the fact that I marked an allergy to honey if we could use a different type of wax. Tracy had not even looked at my form, because she was unaware and said all our waxes are made with honey, so if I had a legitimate allergy, she would have gone ahead and used it. When Tracy left the room so I could get dressed and on the table she left for longer than 5 mins, and I could hear her speaking with the receptionist. I felt my time was unimportant and being wasted, because I was ready in a minute and had to wait again for my specialist. Tracy is kind and I thought she did a great job because it was not painful. However that was clearly a sign she did not pull the hair from the roots. Upon getting home hours later I notice my underarms have hair on them still. 1/4 inch long black hair, that SHOULD shave been waxed or at least seen and plucked. I got a Brazilian and my entire vagina still has tiny hair, all over it. The hair that is now too short to be re-waxed. it was long enough when I came in, but the leftovers are like stubble. It looks like on both my underarms and my Brazilian that I shaved maybe a few days ago and this is the hair leftover. This is so unacceptable. Tracy offered to place a complimentary underarm wax on my account for next time (not another Brazilian), but honestly very unsure if I want to go back considering the poorly done wax I tipped on, and the attitude of the receptionist. When I informed the front desk worker about the failure of both staff members I interacted with to look at the allergy form I filled out, she simply said "oh our waxes don't use honey they're made with coconut oil right now anyway" a clear contradiction of her specialist. Tracy then called me to make sure I was okay after I left because she said the receptionist told her I am in fact allergic to honey, which is not at all what I said. Tracy was concerned which does not make sense if in fact it was coconut oil like the receptionist said. The fact that the staff members are confused on the ingredients used in their wax to the degree that they could not tell me if I had honey on my body or not is ridiculous. For this cheap of a place I'll shave over my poorly waxed parts and just expect them to grow back in soon and uneven, rather than go back to have them attempt to fix it. Attached are photos of my underarms for them, but I'd prefer not to post a nude vagina on yelp. For a Brazilian, I should be hairless, not shaving hair off my butthole area, vagina lips, and top. Ridiculous. ****UPDATE I will say, the owner immediately followed up with me following this review and was INCREDIBLY sweet. She placed credits on my account to compensate for future treatments, and I will go back knowing that each specialist is different, and the receptionist was brand new and clearly a mistake hire. There is in fact honey in the wax (which is very normal, just the receptionist seemed not to understand the severity of telling someone wax has no honey in it and allowing them to be waxed when it clearly does). I have faith this establishment is run well by the owner, just this experience with these two staff members was unacceptable. read more

I bought a Groupon here in July and it expired in October. In september I caught covid and it took me a full six weeks to fully recover, leaving me no time to to redeem this coupon. Three months is truly not enough time to redeem an offer in the best of times, and certainly not when you're recovering from a deadly illness. I called to make an appointment for an eyebrow waxing, because I had read online that they did mapping. I got there, and had been scheduled at the Metarie location, but they got me in right away! It was THE most thorough eyebrow waxing I have ever had! ***Mapping is when they line up the beginning of where your eyebrows "should" start, arch, and end. The Brazilian went as aspected but she actually had me giggling throughout the whole process so it was TOO bad! My first visit was a Groupon but I had such a great experience the first time that I went back 4 weeks later for another service. Kadee I awesome at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone. This location is unreliable. I am beyond furious that I was charged $175 plus the $65 month to month membership fee. There is no one available over the phone and the office is rarely open and staffed. Ive tried several routes of communications but no one is there. I am updating this as I see others have had similar experiences. (Jano B.) see below. Her experience was similar to ours. So sad that people think this is a reasonable way to do business. Short sighted and just dumb when you punish customers for being a few minutes late. We got the same attitude from a young girl that I suspect makes close to minimum wage - it was almost as though she enjoyed not giving us the service and charging us for it too. If they are late - it's no big deal - as it happened many times. But if the customer is late - you'll experience their wrongful policies. Here is my previous review: My daughter (aged 15) used to have waxing done here. Because she is underaged, I am leaving this review to WARN others. My daughter was a few minutes late to an appointment. Not only did they refuse to provide her service (for being 5 minutes late), they wanted to charge us for the service. Additionally, they were extremely rude in the process. It's important to note that THEY were at least five minutes late in keeping the appointment on several previous occasions. In other words, it's ok for them to be late - but if you are a few minutes late - you get no service and you pay the entire cost. We go to Waxing in the City now - it's worth the drive, they are friendly, and they laugh at the practices of this outfit. I would avoid Bombshell waxing. I'm surprised a business would treat their customers this way - it's very, very sad. But it's obvious not many people frequent this outfit so perhaps they have learned it's not nice to treat people this way. I moved to the area in the last year and have been struggling to find a new waxing place that is on the Northshore and does a knockout job - I think I have found my place! For starters, Megan is awesome. If you can believe it, she had me laughing while getting a Brazilian done! Made the whole, getting my hair ripped out, experience MUCH more enjoyable. The salon itself is clean and cute, and they sell all sorts of helpful products too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, experienced waxees or first-timers. read more

Been here a couple times and the work is just okay. I find that hair gets left behind and at the cost of their brazilian, that's just not okay. I will say Michelle is the best I've had out of the others though. A huge gripe that I have is their online booking system. I can't seem to use it although I've been there multiple times now. It's rather frustrating to be forced to call to make all your appointments since they don't always answer the phone or they close early. Bottom line, you don't have many other options on the Northshore so unless you're willing to make the trek over the causeway, you are stuck. This is my second time coming to this location and before moving to the Northshore, I use to go to the location in Metairie. Anyway, I made my appointment online a few days ago and received my confirmation email after doing so. I arrived around 09:05am this morning for my 09:15am appointment only to find the business still closed and no one is sight. I even checked my online bombshell account to make sure I wasn't the one mistaken, which turns out I wasn't. After waiting until 09:35am I finally decided to leave. She was so nice and I felt comfortable trying again. I went to the northshore location to get a spray tan. They did an amazing job. My tan looks so natural. They've lost their best esthetician, Kadee! No one else there is any good... unfortunately. She kept me coming back even though I found aspects of Bombshell Waxing's membership policies challenging and the behavior of their membership team to be frankly bizarre. Here are the pros and cons of their membership: Pros: $65 for supposedly unlimited waxing. Cons: It's hard to make appointments and I found that "unlimited" waxing really meant about once a month... despite my efforts to get in more often. I also found their ACH payment policy troubling, they take your monthly fees out of your banking accounts. During COVID, even though the salon was closed, they kept pulling the money out of my checking account even when I requested a freeze. I was able to negotiate 4 months of credits based on the money they pulled out of my account. Heaven help you if you ever try to get a refund of the monies they've pulled out of your account. Recently, they instituted a new policy where they make you keep a copy of your driver's license in their database if you want to get a bikini wax. Essentially, they require more personal identification than it takes to vote or board an airline. I work with IT and I looked at their consent forms and they are not secure or up to industry standards for any business that is going to acquire or store personal data on clients. When I offered to show my ID rather than have it stored, I was refused service. They then charged me $80 for a no show even though I was standing right there. When I disputed this charge, I received a bizarre email from their Director of Operations, Raylyn Stringer. I'm glad to be going and wish that I would have left sooner. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because of Kadee. When I find out where she's working now, I will post it here. She's the best. read more

What is the point of a business if you don't have a way to get into the door. When one calls to make an appt your get a recording that says go to their website and when you go to their website the website rarely works. If you are lucky enough to get an appt online and have to change it good luck! No business goes out of their way to lose customers but if they don't get this fixed they will lose more than me. read more

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!! This company is truly awful. They will scam you, take your money, and continue charging you even after you cancel your membership with them. DO NOT use this company! I have been a customer of over a year, only because I was still locked into a contract. I showed up to an appointment where the door was locked and no one was there. I called, and their phone is a message that tells you to book online then hangs up on you. You have to message them on Facebook or Instagram to reach someone, which is so unprofessional. When I messaged on Facebook, I was told "oops sorry, can you reschedule?" They are just money hungry scammers who don't care about customers. They only have 1 employee and she is new to waxing, so she is completely overbooked leaving few options to schedule. The worst management I've ever seen, and both the employees and customers suffer because of it! They took my money and will not give it back. It seems like the other reviews have the same feedback. I am so upset! She ruined my eyebrow! She did a good job on one and totally mutilated the other. She took a chunk out at the bottom and when I pointed it out she acted like it was already there. Uh, no! It wasn't! She also took way too much on the part nearest my nose. Even my boys noticed how mismatched and wonky my brows look. Today I visited Bombshell for my first ever Brazilian wax. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and I arrived at 9:30 a.m. As soon as I stepped inside I was greeted by an energetic, smiling employee. She checked me in and let my waxer Debbie know I had arrived. Debbie came out less than five minutes later and took me to the back. I was scared, terrified even, but Debbie calmed my azz down and explained the entire process. We started with the "in-betweeni," but I decided to keep going because I had made it so far already. The rest is a blur as I was in a whole hell of a lot of pain. When the procedure was close to being finished she started explaining the after care procedures to me. I was not listening. I was trying to practice my breathing techniques. So it was nice that she went over them again once everything was over. When I got to the register to check out the after care product we discussed was already waiting for me which was a plus because I did not retain the name due to the state of shock I was in. Overall I had as good an experience one can have while having coarse hair ripped out of one of the most sensitive areas of her body. I currently feel the urge to do cartwheels while wearing a dress and no panties. I purchased a Groupon for two sessions so I will most definitely be back in the future. Oh and one thing I did like was that they sent me a text and email reminder the day before my appointment. There is a 12 hour advance notice for cancellations and the reminders were sent well before that. read more

I used to think this place was pretty decent until I was gypped out of $60 for a service I never received. I had scheduled an appointment for a Friday afternoon and after driving almost an hour to the shop, I get told that I was "a no call no show" for a different day that I never scheduled an appointment for! Not only that I was told that there wasn't any spots for me when I had an appointment booked for that day! I've called several times at both locations to speak with Amberly to get my money back and have yet to get a phone call returned! Each time I call I'm told the same thing that they will leave a message for her. I don't understand how hard is it to rightfully give a refund for a service I never got. The staff here is very friendly and seem knowledgeable but the work is often mediocre in my experience. My Brazilian waxes (I've had 2 done with 2 people) were more painful than other experiences I've had and very shortly after revealed a lot of leftovers, torn skin and ingrown hairs resulting from improper waxing that just broke the hair off at the skin but didn't pull it out completely. This is THE place! My 14 yr old daughter has been getting her legs waxed regularly in Los Angeles - and she was very nervous about finding a new esthetician in the Northshore. Apparently, it's not as popular amongst the young girls here, as it is in California, so it was hard to find someone we knew, who could give us a personal recommendation. We found Bombshell Waxing on Yelp. It's a scary thing for my daughter to do, but much less scary than shaving is for her! We explained the situation, and Clair helped my daughter feel right at home. The salon is very clean, welcoming and orderly. The staff simply couldn't be any friendlier. All went off without a hitch or a single ouchie for my daughter. Clair was lovely and professional throughout the whole experience. The room is very private and you certainly feel that they are attending to your needs the whole time. And they offered us 50% off our first visit automatically, even though we didn't know to ask for the special. Thank you - and we'll be back in 6 weeks! read more
