There is a bar area which has seats, so if you prefer to be near the bar and watch the show you can, however there is a glass screen between the bar area and the main floor so what you would hear I don't know. The food they serve is to cater for a wide range of tastes, fish & chips, jerk chicken (which if you are like me needs some proper spice to it) and some salads. The portion size was good and i did not feel the need for desert, although nothing took my fancy!! They had the usual variety of wines, beers, sprits along with some cocktails. The time it took to get served was ok no long waits and it was packed. Its always nice to not have to go to the bar to order your drinks so the table service was very much appreciated!! This victorian home is filled with hundreds of vintage wireless sets--almost certainly the largest display of radios in the world. What really makes this place special is the incredible feeling that it was put together not by an aristocrat who spent his lavish wealth on a museum, but rather by a man who dedicated his entire life to radio and turned his house into a museum (that man, Gerry Wells, sadly passed away in December). Now the museum is operated by a group of dedicated men and women who are incredibly passionate about radios, electronics and history. I spent hours talking about what life was like in the 40s and 50s, drinking tea, and listening to vintage radio sets (and even a gramophone with a huge brass horn)! I highly recommend this for anyone interested in radio, industrial design, history, or electronics.

Luxury is the name of their game, however I think they have missed the mark, a little bit. Upon entry it has a very polished retro feel, plus furniture in the lobby area, multiple seating areas, the bar is well proportioned in relation to the space. I'm sure some people may actually go there just to sit have a drink and catch up!! I think there are 4 screens and the film I went to see was in screen 4, which is upstairs. Ordering the food and drink was nice and simple, apart from no sweet popcorn at the upstairs bar!! So had to go back downstairs to get popcorn but they did bring it up form me. Staff were helpful and professional, the seats in the actual cinema were comfortable, I'm sure they will feel less stiff as they get more bums on seats!! Now at the beginning of this I said they have missed the mark 'a little bit'. I say this as with all Everyman cinemas they bring food and drink to you, if that's what you request, this is where they missed the mark. They, in my opinion, didn't leave enough walkway space between the seats so when people are walking past to get to their seats it's very 'snug'. So when staff bring food and drinks it's a bit of a trial. Hence only 4 stars from me. That aside if you've never been to an Everyman. It is an experience but remember this isn't Vue or Oden and that is reflected in the price of tickets food etc etc. Worthwhile going as a treat to yourself or someone special in your life.

Despite all this money it still suffers from the same sort of shortfalls all these places do. For example, there are only 2 changing cubicles in the mens changing rooms (can't comment on the ladies changing rooms without the police being called), and a ridiculously small viewing room for the numerous Dulwich mums to sit/stand with their double buggies and watch their little darlings tread water and swallow most of it, to name but two. You get the feeling that the pool has suffered in order for the authorities to be able to fit more facilities into the one site. It's only this latter point that prevented me from giving the site 4 stars.

They also have a fully stocked bar and sell all the best kinds of ice cream and home made cakes which is useful if your date has the munchies.
