Mondo Vino - They just got in the new Red Rocks Vodka. It's so incredibly smooth and slightly sweet. My new favorite!

Do you ever walk into a wine store and just not know what to get...?…read more Do you ever feel overwhelmed at all the choices and just give up and get your standard "Go-To" wine...? Do you ever feel intimidated by not knowing what is good and what is bad...? Well, it happens to me from time to time and I must say that Mondo Vino has a huge advantage over other stores. His name is John T... He listened to my likes/dislikes, but he also suggested a few things for gifts this holiday season. Not only did he recommend the best wines ever, but he helped me finish my Christmas shopping and saved me at least a day of stress, fighting everyone else that waited until the last week to buy presents. Now while everyone else is pressured to finish Xmas shopping, I will be enjoying a nice glass of wine. Cheers John (aka Jim) I will be back!!!

And I don't even drink wine, but I needed to go use the restroom today the store owner was not there I waited for five minutes yelling walking around the store and even the back where I'm not allowed. To make sure it was all right to use the restroom. So I proceed to use the restroom that was opened. And as I left the store, owner gave me a dirty look. And it was very unkind to me and said I can use the restrooms outside. Just for people to know it's not a public restroom in there and I totally understand that but I do not take someone being uptight at their store and being rude to me. I'm a very kind person. And all I know is respect.

Where to begin... I…read moreattended 3/29 class for Flavors of Thailand. The menu looked promising but the class was not what I was expecting. First of all, got a weird vibe from the instructor. I had very brief encounters with him but his demeanor towards me seemed very rude. Asked him very simple questions but made me seem like I was asking him dumb questions. Second, the menu was not good. As someone who has been to a lot of Thai restaurants, this might have been for people who are not very familiar with authentic Thai food. I knew the class was over when the instructor told us to soak the rice paper into water for 30-45 seconds (I understand it was not warm water and we used tap water) Still, anyone who has actually has made spring rolls before knows that is way too long. Pad see ew was atrocious. Only used oyster sauce and tamari as sauces... don't really see the point of coming to a cooking class when your cabinet has better selection of spices/sauces. Chicken Khao Soi was decent. Paying 120 dollars for this class was a big mistake. I don't quite understand how they could charge this much knowing that the ingredients they used were fairly affordable. Honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Allison was very sweet. The place was very cute. Only 2 positives.

I came in right behind a table of four and while…read morethey were sat immediately, the staff member walked off and I stood there for at least another five minutes without being acknowledged. Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.

We weren't quite sure where to enter from the back parking lot, but we saw a "Wine Tasting This Way" sign that led us through an area being set up for a wedding...whoops! Not sure if the sign had been moved or simply hadn't been moved for the wedding. Once we made our way to the tasting area, it was extremely busy and we had no idea where or how to check in. We eventually asked someone who came up to the register to check out another guest, and they promptly got us checked in. The tasting itself was nice, we tasted about 20 diff wines, and we had a lovely girl serving us. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was as first time visitors, we weren't given any info about how the tasting experience worked. It took about an hour and a half, and we didn't receive the advertised tour that was included. After the tasting, we were ready to purchase some wine and waited behind another couple who was checking out. However, no one ever acknowledged us or came over to help us check out. I think this place is probably great, but the disorganized check-in, lack of clear signage, and inattentive staff made the experience more difficult. As first time visitors, we would have loved a little more guidance.
