    My custom wine flight
    Edie A.

Blanchard Family Wines made Westword's Top 50 Bars for 2025 (one of the seven listed in the Beer & Wine Destinations). Blanchard Family Wines is a cozy winery located in the alley of Denver's Dairy Block. Friendly staff provide you with suggestions from their wine offerings. They use grapes from both California and Colorado. I suggest going with a flight to sample the wines, but they also offer seasonal wine cocktails. I tried the custom wine flight for $24. I prefer dryer, less-sweet white wines, so I sampled the Tectonic, Gewürztraminer, Rosé of Grenache, and Domaine Rosé. Blanchard Family Wine is a wonderful chill place to hang out, enjoy a tasting, and chat with a friend.

Located on the dairy block, close to restaurants, bars and entertainment. There is a parking garage and about a 5 minute walk from union station. There was a good variety of wine available by the glass, flight or bottle. Service was good and my server was knowledgeable about the wines and pairing. I thought the pours could have been a tad bigger for the price but good overall. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, charging ports at the bar.

Great ambiance, wonderful wine, and a yummy board! While service varied a bit, the overall experience was fantastic. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

I came here with a girlfriend for a Groupon deal I found - VIP flights for two and it included a charcuterie board. For my flight of four, I got the Sauvignon blanc, Gewurztraminer, Syrah and Blake Street blend. The favorite was definitely the red blend - all of the wines I tried were from California while my friend focused on trying Colorado based wines. She got a Chardonnay that we agree didn't really taste like much of anything. For the board, the salamis were very tasty. Some of the items on the board weren't that great ie, the almonds were stale and very chewy. However, the overall presentation and taste of the board was great!

I'm so glad I stopped at Blanchard Family Wines before my flight. This was my first experience trying wine that's made in Colorado! I'm very pleased and all the wines I tried (which were many) were delicious. Aside from some stellar glass pours, I indulged in the wine and chocolate pairing which coupled 4 wines with 4 complementary chocolates. This was definitely the highlight of my time here. Each pairing was thoughtfully created and tasty. The service was amazing - I got frequent explanations of the pairings and other information when sitting at the bar, of which I'm grateful (this being my first time in Colorado). Needless to say, the outdoor seating is very pretty and it allows you to see this gorgeous, well-maintained, alleyway. The interior is also stunning and looks very new! I wish I could say I'd come back here more often but...living over a thousand miles away makes that rather difficult. If I ever find myself in the Denver area again however, I'll likely find my way back here for another awesome experience!

Loved this place! Located in the Milk Market ally, so lots of people watching if you sit outside. We had a wine flight of Colorado wines and loved them all. Our server was super sweet and we really liked the variety. We then chose our favorite from the flight and got 2 glasses. Reasonable prices and next time we will definitely try the charcuterie!

What a great find, look for the dairy block. Lovely Open seating and great wine. We visited the bakery kitty corner and had a wonderful croissant w Ham that we brought along. In fact they gave us 10% off Try the popcorn ( OMG ) The rosé was a perfect compliment to our snacks.

We had a great experience here on a Saturday afternoon. Not too crowded (winter) and were able to find street parking. We enjoyed red wine flights and purchased their CA Zinfandel and a CO Cab franc by Plum Creek. The owner was very sweet and chatted with us providing lots of info on their wine and the CO wine industry. Charcuterie board has a large variety of items which we enjoyed and was a good lunch for 2. The Dairy Block is a really cute area too

What a great visit! My mom have been long time Blanchard Family wine fans and original wine club members. When we knew we were going to be visiting Denver we knew we had to stop in and check-in. We were not disappointed. The service was impeccable. Being from California we were partial to their Malbec but the Colorado wine was nice too. The charcuterie board was so good I didn't even take a picture, lol! Highly recommend if you are anywhere near the ball park or Union Station stop in and enjoy a flight!!

A chill area that has an indoor and outdoor seating. If you're lucky, you might be able to witness a wedding (we were only there long enough to see the rehearsal). Ordered the Chill Switch (red wine) (recommended) and a large charcuterie board. Chill Switch is actually a pretty tasty wine that's refrigerated. Thought it was going to be like grape juice from the fridge, but it's not. It's not as dry as a cab, but dry enough with a hint of sweetness. Ordered a large charcuterie which contains a good array of meat, cheese, and snacks. Would definitely come back if we're ever in the area. Mind you, a bottle of wine and a large charcuterie was for two people. Can easily be enough for three to four people who are there to enjoy a 'snack.'

While exploring downtown Denver, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon the cutest wine tasting room tucked inside the Dairy Block--Blanchard Family Wines--and we're so glad we stepped in. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a kind and welcoming woman (Shanna) who made us feel right at home. She walked us through a wine tasting, answered all our questions, and let us relax on a comfy couch inside. The vibe was cozy and casual--we played a card game, sipped some delicious wines, and just enjoyed the atmosphere. Whether you're a wine lover or just looking for a chill spot to unwind, this place is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Denver!

I did the wine flight and really enjoyed it. It was such a cute little spot when I was visiting Denver and just needed a spot to relax. It was relatively quiet at the time I went so plenty of seating. I could easily see it being a good spot to meet up with some friends and enjoy a glass of wine. They were really friendly and made some helpful suggestions on which wines to get based on my preferences.

We sat outside at an arm rail type setting that was wider than normal and had seating. This was an indoor/outdoor area in the milk market area (I believe), in a really cool alley way. Our server was very friendly, very talkative and knowledgeable about all of their wines. She was a great server. The wine was very interesting, not my favorite wines that I've ever had but it was a great experience.

All of the staff were friendly and helped us get settled in, even offering a dog water bowl and little dog yoga mats so they would be comfy on the gravel. We ordered a flight - 6 tastes for $15, highly recommend and we treated ourselves to a post-hike baked brie that was perfect. We found out that if you order three bottles of wine to take home your tasting is free, so naturally... :) I will call ahead and make a reservation next time so we can be seated right by the river. Today should have been no exception except it was. Instead of being friendly and helpful with my easy order of 1 bottle to go, 1 glass of wine and 1 hummus plate the bar staff decided to make it her job to make my time snd $ difficult. I hate paying $100 for servers to act condescending and trite over something as easy as basic customer service. Refused to place my hummus order with my wine bottle "to go" order unless I sat down and had it ordered by another staff member. Soooo I took my single glass of wine and had to find a host member to get me a table, go sit and wait 20 minutes just to place an order of hummus. Then another 20 for it to arrive. I just wanted to pop in for a glass of wine and small plate of hummus as snack to go w the wine. Plenty of servers. No big crowds or big rush, the bar was empty and mind you the venue is very small. So not sure what the big deal was. I think owners and management need to educate the newer younger staff on REAL customer service and how to make things work for the customer not the other way around. Like why was this bartender making something so simple so difficult. Also, at the end of my visit I didn't appreciate being startled and rudely interrupted 2x by a very young waitress that is clearly new and obviously has zero customer service skills or experience serving people. Would have been 1 Star today for Creekside if it weren't for Ryker. He should be the example and litmus for servers.

The first thing that grabs you as you're driving through the back, roads of Weld County among farms and ranches is the warmth of this location with trees, a long drive and a small pond. It truly is a picturesque setting and some families were already walking around the pond and nearby grounds taking family photos. We had a small wait for our table, which was not unexpected since had a large group. The drink options were amazing and the bartenders on duty did not disappoint with their preparations. The menu however, was great for those who were seeking carbs, but left something to be desired if you were seeking any protein options. We started with the Charcuterie and Bruschetta Barrata boards along with the Warm Spinach and Artichoke dip. A couple of flatbread pizzas wrapped up the dinner options for us. We were celebrating a birthday and brought a cake in the staff was kind enough to let us keep it in the cooler until it was time to be served. With almost every table filled outdoors and indoors, the staff did a good job of keeping up with our tables needs and balancing the other tables in their respective stations. We did have to seek out our waiter a couple of times to order additional items but they were quite busy. This place is ideal for a light, relaxing meal with drinks and the company of friends. It is not the place to go for those with a hearty appetite as you may be disappointed with the scarcity of options on the menu, but for events in a beautiful setting, you can't go wrong here!

Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.
