This company will attempt to evict you for being late on rent by days, even as a 3 year tenant. This company does not care about you, your family, or the home you would likely be renting from them. They only care about your money. I received 0 help during the pandemic, received multiple threats of eviction for LATENESS. It was a refreshing call when i found out that the reason the rent hasn't been paid is because they''ve failed to fill out government aid forms properly.(They emailed me after still telling me theyre gonna try to evict me anyways) I will not be renting from this company ever again. read more

I had two kids attending Radford at the same time and both rented apartments. Bondurant is no worse or better than Price-Williams. I find you will live a happier life if you realize from the beginning that you will never see your security deposit returned. You can leave the apartment in pristine condition and pay to have the carpets professionally cleaned. You are not going to see a dime so do not waste your efforts. All the expenses that these companies have as an owner will be shifted to the renters. They required the carpet be professionally cleaned by the renter ($200) then replaced the carpet for the new tenants. The bill they showed me for painting included $1000 for 12.5 gallons of paint and $350 to clean an already clean three bedroom 1 bath house. Renting houses is a racket in a college town and all the companies are the same. Tell your son/daughter to take good care of the house because it is their home and because it is the right thing to do. Then write off all the deposits and pay the extraneous fees for services because you are not getting it back and life it too short to fight battles you will never win. read more

I rented a townhouse for 2 years under Bondurant and these people are TERRIBLE. They are very unhelpful, charge an unbelievable amount for rent, and will find any possible way they can to not give you back your security deposit. On top of that, they are just very unfriendly. Every time I walk into their main office it is as if they are mad that I am there and I am wasting their time. Here is a great example. One of my friends had a rat living in her house (also owned by Bondurant), and called maintenance to do something about it. They didn't send someone in until the third time she called. They seemed like they couldn't care less about it. Unfortunately, Bondurant owns a lot of property in Radford, so I can't tell you not to move in with them, but I can almost guarantee you that your experiences with them will be very unpleasant. read more

It's been 10 months since I left that hellhole of an apartment and they're still sending me bills after I already gotten a written statement from the manager that I don't owe a single cent... On top of that, they decided to bill me for new carpeting instead of hiring a cleaner, and they added that after I already signed a statement of charges after doing a walkthrough.. They are a bunch of selfish, ignorant people who will bully you into doing anything. by the way, the "non-refundable" pet deposit doesn't cover any damage that the pet does.... It doesn't make any sense to charge for a pet deposit and not use it towards damages: no carpet cleaning, no pet stains, literally nothing... last piece of advice... Do not rent from them!!! Please read this if you are considering to rent from them. I rented with this company and just finished up my lease yesterday. I was having some difficulty moving everything out in time and spoke with an employee. She told me I could have until the following afternoon to finish moving out. This morning I went back to my apartment and moved the first load out. When I returned to move my final belongings, I was horrified to find my things scattered throughout my room. Note that the only person who had been in my apartment was the woman I had spoke to the day before. A ton of small unimportant things were missing, but so was the pearl necklace my mother gave me. I called the company crying and explained my situation. Instead of offering to help get my belongings back they proceeded to say "it's our property now" Please do not rent from them!!!! They have awful customer service and their apartments are usually close to unlivable. I rather live in a tent on the quad then with this company. read more

I'm not going to go into detail about the problems we had with our place from day one but I will touch on them. The house was "newly renovated" but as they say in the south, it was lipstick on a pig. 1. Day 1, moving in. The HVAC guys were there finishing up the install and tracked mud on all the carpets which their shoes collected from the inch of mud that lived in our driveway. The squaller of a driveway was due to an improperly-run gutter line that terminated directly in a pile of dirt underneath the front porch eroding the soil that supported the deck posts, the corner of the foundation, and providing lots of water to the forest of poison oak that would put Jack and the Beanstalk to shame. 2. The mud in the driveway was not the only unwelcome guest in front of our house. The sinister mud was hiding about 400 roofing nails from the roof they installed during the supposed remodel. I discovered this by locating the first one in my tire within a week of living there. I couldn't definitively prove where the nail came from since the other 399 nails didn't reveal themselves until a couple weeks later after spending 3 hours cleaning the mud from the driveway. The resemblance of the tire-popping culprit to its brothers was uncanny, but at that point I didn't bother pursing it. 3. The door to the downstairs bathroom/laundry was too narrow even to fit our small washer and dryer (part of the "remodel") so we had to call them to fix it. The "contractor" came out, ripped and banged making the bathroom entrance big enough to fit a standard sized W/D and left, explaining he'd come back to fix it later. He never did. We lived 3 years there without a door on the basement bathroom. 4. The HVAC quit working within a week which they did fix. 5. A month into living here, the main water line from the road burst ruining the basement carpet and laminate (btw who puts carpet and laminate in a partially unfinished basement with leaky walls? Mold city!). The contractor, who apparently is the only person they ever use to do anything, was out of town so we waited 3 days for him to fix it. No water in the meantime waiting for the only contractor in Radford they'll use to fix a simple water line. He finally came out to fix the leak and did but had to cut the driveway apart to get to the old line. He explained that he would be back later to fix it. He never came back... again. 6. Because of the ripped up driveway my wife and I got both our vehicles stuck in the mud and we had to call a tow truck on 2 different occasions to pull us out of the mess we claimed as a driveway. After all these problems, when it comes time to receive our deposit refund, Bondurant did not refund our deposit. In fact, they wanted to charge extra on top of the almost $700 we paid for deposit. We aren't messy housekeepers whatsoever and I understand that things like painting and carpet cleaning are standard procedure when prepping for new tenants but Bondurant was somehow able to find enough wrong to take all our deposit plus some. Also, in regards to the "non-refundable" pet deposit fee we paid when we moved in, when they say non-refundable they MEAN IT. It did not apply toward anything, no standard pet hair ductwork cleaning, no standard carpet cleaning, nothing. What is the point of the deposit if it doesn't cover inevitable cleaning and maintenance that is associated with having pets?! When all was said and done, we were NOT able to get out of the extra charge, so my warning to all is BEWARE THE GREED MONSTER THAT IS BONDURANT. Document everything, disclose everything, and know that in the end, it won't matter. read more

We have rented a house in August this year (2019). The lease expired July first, 2020, which means that we will occupy this stinking property for 7 more months. This agency starts harassing us by starting showing it to possible renters from the beginning of November. I have been living in 5 countries so far and have NEVER seen the worst realty agency. In all other countries, tenants are protected by the tenants' law, and something like this is unimaginable. If you are prepared to be harassed every week for the whole year then take the Bondurant. read more

Absolutley the worst renting experience of my life. Upon viewing the apartment, it was what you expected for a 650 dollar a month apartment. What we didn't expect was horrible partying neighbors bondurant never did anything about despite multiple calls and requests, roaches in our apartment (which they did pay for extermination but still) that took 6 months to get rid of, for the water to randomly be shut down with barely a 24 hour notice, ferral cats surrounding the complex, and the grand finale: they will nickle and dime you for pointless little charges that they basically just made the up and were never discussed in lease signing but were apparently "hidden" in the paper work. Not only did we not get our deposit back, but we were charged for a cleaning service when the apartment was spick and span when we left. Apparently they charge everyone who rents from them this little fee in the end. (The apartment was even cleaner than when we first moved in. It's funny, they say they do such through inspections... when we originally moved in I found old rotten food in the back of the pantry's...that's how thorough Bondurant was) Word of advice: just don't do it. Horrible customer service, bogus charges, and sub par apartments sums it all up. read more

Terrible. Whatever you do avoid partaking in any business with Bondurant. I don't know how many times I was told one of their managers Vikki was at "Lunch" when there are important discussions they should be having with the residents. Front desk people not very competent, keep track of your payments to Bondurant as well. If you do move in, make sure you make a detailed report of their apartment when you move in or else they will create damages that existed far before move in (typical of the crooks within the industry.) read more

RENTERS BEWARE!!! READ EVERY SINGLE LINE OF YOUR LEASE CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING IT! While overall I think they are pretty decent people to work with, they did try to over charge us a ton on carpet replacement. My son and his girlfriend's lease had a prorated scale for the amount of time living in the apartment and Bondurant was attempting to charge us full replacement costs plus other fees. We had our day in court and got the amount reduced but I am still not happy about it. I still feel ripped off. We tried many times to settle out of court but they were totally unwilling to negotiate. The thing I found the most odd about today was the other rental companies in court. They all had only three or four maybe five cases. The lady from Bondurant had so many, she could barely carry all of her files up to the bench. That should tell you something about them right there. Anyway, I agree that my son and his girlfriend owed them for some damage to the carpet, just not the ridiculous amount they wanted to charge. A contractor friend of mine said what they were originally asking for would be enough to carpet my 2000+ square foot house! read more

This company is poorly run and takes advantage of college students. My daughter had smoke damage occur from an old washer in her apartment. Luckily a roommate returned home early from class and discovered it before a fire. When they investigated why the smoke alarm didn't go off, they found it was not wired and Bondurant had just put the smoke alarm box on the wall and not connected it! My son lived in an old, old house that had floor issues. When they moved in they discovered that the floors had been braced with 2 X 4s because the floor joists were rotted. Sure enough we got billed for over $3000 in repairs as they blamed the boys for jumping on the floors and breaking them! Stay away from them! read more

I feel as though they do not make the best effort to help people with any issues. I also feel as though it is hard to reach them via phone. I am very disappointed to have received only $60 of my $400 deposit, even though my family and I hired cleaners and carpet cleaners after I moved out. read more
