I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this office has been incredibly frustrating. I have been dealing with significant pain while trying to move forward with treatment, yet the office has repeatedly failed to follow through on even basic scheduling and communication. I was told that delays were due to insurance issues and that my insurance would not approve or pay for surgery. However, after contacting my insurance company directly, I learned that nothing had even been submitted for review. To make matters worse, I later found out that the office's scheduler had quit, which appears to have caused major disruptions. Unfortunately, instead of being proactive and communicating with patients, I was left waiting for weeks at a time with no updates and no follow-up calls. I repeatedly had to contact the office myself just to find out what was happening. After nearly two months of delays, I am no closer to receiving treatment than when I started. Mistakes and staffing issues happen, but patients deserve honest communication and timely follow-up--especially when they are living with chronic pain. My issue is not that insurance requirements exist. My issue is that I lost valuable time because the office failed to properly manage my case and keep me informed. I hope they address these problems so future patients do not have the same experience. read more

Dr. Richards did my surgery for my fully torn ACL. 2 years later..still no problems. I highly recommend this facility as your go to.

They treated me for a herniated disc. It was long office waits but staff was nice. I had my operation and everything went well. It was a micro diseconomy. Operating team and the doctor Elkanich were amazing. read more

I went to see Dr Nathan Richards. He is an awesome doctor. He is so thorough. He takes lots of time with you explaining what was going on with me. He was very compassionate, I was there for a workers comp second opinion. Dr. Richard's was very patient and kind. He listen to what I had to say and gave me all the time I needed to explain my situation. I so appreciate that in him. I have not gotten that from the other workers comp doctor. I'm a Senior Softball player with the usual knee and rotator cuff issues. Dr. Manning was referred to me by another ball player 3 years ago (shortly after I retired and moved to Las Vegas). Dr. Manning is an outstanding Orthopedic!! He has fixed me on multiple occasions and kept me playing softball at a high level. He has years of experience and can quickly diagnose, identify and resolve my joint pain. A word to the wise, if you're looking for a doctor who holds your hand, talks a lot and makes you feel good psychologically/emotionally, Dr. Manning is not the Orthopedic for you. If you want your joint issues fixed by a highly qualified, intelligent and experienced expert, definitely make an appointment with Dr. Manning! I highly recommend Dr. Manning! read more

The staff was great. But Dr. Kirk Mendez was not. He did nothing other than glance at the emergency room Xrays and barley touch my daughters ankle. He asked us to come back for a follow up where he was just as short. I'm not exactly sure what it was we paid him for. Been dealing with Dr. Manning and his assistant Alex for over 30 years. Can't say enough about the excellent job they've done of keeping me together and functional over the years between shoulders and knees I wasn't dealt the best hand, but thanks to Dr. Manning I was able to feed my family and achieve a great living, accompanied by two retirement pensions. None of it would've been possible without the help of Dr. Manning and Alex words can't possibly cover how grateful me and my family are to you guys. For anyone needing knee or shoulder surgery there simply is no one out there, more accomplished and thorough when it comes to surgery, help on knees and shoulders. Accepting a patient that you know you can do nothing for and then charging them to tell them you can not do anything is shameful and a scam. That is something that should be told to the patient before they come in. He did not examine my son. He asked me what happened and told me he does not work on children and that I could possibly come back to see his colleague who does work on kids. So not only was it a waste of time but to also be charged. I absolutely became angry when the office manager would not listen to me and would continue to talk over me saying my son was seen because there was a note of what I said happened to him and X-rays in the computer. I provided all of that during the check in process. I was then told to I can go back to the emergency room that i originally took him to. Please provide a detailed reason for a $300 charge? You guys must be rolling in money from charging peoples insurance and only have a problem now because I was a cash patient. read more

Dr Manning seems to be really good, but everyone else in this office seem to be the total opposite. The billing specialist was unable to answer my questions about what things would cost and they said I would have to call a special number to buy a leg brace from a third party, and if I didnt use my insurance it would be cheaper. Luckily I got a second opinion from another doctor at another office and went with them, they said I didnt need a leg brace at all. This was a year ago and I have healed, yet I still get daily automated call from the criminals that Bone & Joint Specialists sold my information to. It goes "do not hang up, we have important information about the relief to cronic pain" and want to sell me a leg brace. What cronic pain? I never got problems with cronic pain because I went with another doctors office! read more

One clarification is that I never asserted that Dr. Rosen himself pushed the surgery to bill the insurance, but this is the general attitude of most doctors I have come across. My disappointment was definitely the staff and their unprofessionalism, which did not make me feel comfortable at all. ************** Run!!! Went there after a sports injury for my husband. We had the ER diagnosis of a partially torn Achilles' tendon but we had no x Ray because the ER rep forgot to include them in our packet. They insisted that we take X-ray again and since we have insurance and it was only $15 we agreed. They never ended up doing the X-rays and the doctor started pushing right away for surgery. (They almost scheduled it!!!) When my husband questioned him on it, then he starting backing out of it, and admitted complications from the surgery for a partial Tear would outweigh the benefit. Okay asshole so why even propose it? I asked them why was I charged for X-rays they never ended up doing so the only person who had a brain and some manners, Michelle, refunded the card and apologized. Everyone else was cussing in Spanish and treating us like we were a burden for asking questions. Yes, cussing in Spanish. Wake up yo... It's a doctor's office, not a party. read more

Dr. Manning is a wizard. He has replaced one knee and both shoulders for me. I was pain-free from my shoulders shortly after coming out of surgery -- less than a week. Total recovery time was three weeks. The knee too a little longer to complete rehab, but I was back at work in about four weeks. His work is impeccable. I found his staff professional, not friendly, but they are extremely busy and do great work. I can do without having my hand held. Dr. Elkanich is now working to help me with back problems. His PA is wonderful and informative. He is professional, empathetic and quick to explain what the plan of action is. I appreciate everyone there. read more

Dr.Manning is amazing, as his his assistant Alex. Whenever I need help with my aching knee, he always fits me into his schedule at the last minute. He's upfront and honest about whether the treatment may or may not be successful and he doesn't just give you the answers that you want, he gives you the truth. After my first son, I had knee pain and he sent me for an ASAP MRI and I got in and had the results back within days. I received a knee brace and exercises to perform and went on my merry way. After my 2nd son, the swelling and aching was much worse, so he got me in for a shot in my knee right away. He said it may work for 2 weeks or it may work for 6 months, it really just depends on the person. I'm back at nearly 4 months to get another shot, so he was spot on for the longevity of the treatment. I won't see any other orthopedic doctor in town. read more

I would strongly recommend Dr Kirk Mendez. He is on time, down to earth, and very helpful. He suggested I get a brace for my osteoarthritic knee. The brace was covered by Medicare and has been extremely helpful. He also painlessly administered a steroid shot every 3 months or so which has helped immensely with the knee pain. This has allowed me to forestall doing a knee replacement which I hope I never have to do. read more

Staffs are rude, unprofessional (especially the short blonde chick with the glasses...she talks to you like your 5 year old kid n I didn't like that at all) I had to drive 45min to get there then I waited for about an hour to hear that nothing's wrong with my MRI results and paid $20 co-pay wihch is higher than family doctors. when we were done no one told me anything I was left alone on the room so I left then that blonde chick follow me out to my car to tell me i didn't check out n i just walked out on them. next time tell me what i am supposed to do after doctor said "See u later have a good day" wait! there won't be next time. read more

This facility is amazing. The staff is very friendly and caring.. Dr. Manning is by far one of the greatest physicians I've seen in awhile. I had to have shoulder surgery and Dr Manning treated my injury with precision. I know he cares for his patients because he takes his talent to heal very serious. When I was admitted to the UMC Trauma Center for a life threatening injury, my treatment included orthopedic surgery. The surgeon assigned was from this Bone & Joint Specialists medical practice, so my follow up visits have been to this facility. I am very comfortable with the surgeon who is treating me, but their office staff seems to be incompetent in several areas. Recently, the office staff was supposed to call me with a location and appointment time and date for an MRI... They have not called me, as promised and my calls to this facility are met with terminal hold times. read more

I wasn't sure to go there because i few reviews i read but i need it a dr. I call next day and there was a really good expirience the lady who help me was really kind and courteous. Gave me the appt really fast and she understood my pain. That i was going through she is one of the nices lady in the office. I saw that she talks to everyone with respect and makes you feel like family i forgot her name but she is really nice Hispanic short lady waive hair. Just had to write about an awesome group of medical practitioners. I had an unexpected dentist visit after back surgery, and needed a prescription from Dr. Elkanich for antibiotics prior to the dental procedure. Peyton responded immediately, and was so helpful to get it to my pharmacy so that I could take care of the dental needs on time. The dentist office was also very impressed, because so often other medical offices do not respect the needs of the dentist office, and often ignore telephone requests. I just love Dr. Rosen, who did my hip replacements, and Dr. Elkanich, who has done my cervical surgery, but the staff is also especially outstanding. Good job finding these folks, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing orthopedic surgery or assistance. read more

i recently moved to las vegas from arizona and dr. mendez was recommended 2 me. I really don't know why the other reviewers posted such negative reviews my experience w/the office staff, paraprofessionals and dr. kirk mendez was really good. i found the staff 2 b very polite, friendly and professional. dr. mendez performed arthroscopic surgery on my right knee 12/27/2012 and i am very pleased w/the result. i had to have fluid drained off my knee, which is a common problem for me after surgery, and had the pleasure of meeting alex one of the surgeon assistants who drained the fluid from my knee and performed the procedure very gently and painlessly. i WILL DEFINITELY USE them again. read more

Not handicap accessible at all. This place makes no sense. The table they make you sit on is SO HIGH. The nurse didn't even help my mom get up. She literally watched us struggle. I don't know how anyone expects anyone to get around in there without them bringing another person with them. The front doors you have to open yourself. Also everyone was rude. I don't Yelp much but I thought this was necessary. The whole building isn't easy to get around in and the curb has one small spot for handicap people. Worst place ever read more

Mendez said my boyfriends leg was too big ( for a custom Knee brace?) finally agreed only after using his supplier humm that coupled with Kristy his incompetent sidekick who is so busy worrying about lunch then getting the prescription correctly ordered and the office manager saying they don't care about patients each dr is their own business we agree with the other one stars stay away. read more

My mother went to Dr. Sanders with a torn meniscus knee joint. My mother is an older woman and she has trouble understanding things. She hadn't gone to the doctor until she was in extreme discomfort and her knee started to swell. He worked with her and made sure she understood what was going on and they tried several things before it ended up needing surgery. My mother had a lot of concerns about surgery so I appreciated that he respected her wishes and tried to work with her and not do surgery. I went with her for her pre-op and he explained everything in great detail and reassured her about her recovery. I was impressed and grateful with how he treated my mother. He's a very trustworthy doctor and he's not just out to milk your insurance because he didn't go straight to the expensive option. He saw my mother 2 days after her surgery and consistently checked on her. My mom recovered as easily as can be expected and she is almost 60 years old. Her knee has never felt better and she's had no issues. I'd definitely recommend him for any joint problems you have. He's a great doctor and an efficient surgeon. read more

After a year of dealing with constant pain from an undiagnosed dance injury in my shoulder I finally got a referral to Dr. Manning. In the first visit he actually diagnosed my issue correctly (no other doctor could give me any answers) and immediately started on conservative treatment. The treatment helped but was never able to fully get rid of my pain. Dr. Manning did everything he could to fix my issue without surgery (as he only does surgery when it's absolutely necessary) including referring me to a fellow colleague for a second opinion. After weighing my options we decided to do arthroscopic surgery! I'm now 6months post op and almost completely pain free for the first time in almost 3 years. My incisions are so small it looks like they won't leave any scars, he truly does amazing work! I can't thank Dr. Manning and his staff enough for their hard work. I highly recommend Dr. Manning to anyone, he really cares about his patients more than he cares about making money. His PA Alex has amazing bedside manner and will answer any questions pre or post op! He was such a big help during my recovery process! I had recently had fractured my tibia ( large front bone of our legs ) anyway I had seen dr mandaz 2xs to make sure I'm healing proper. Both times he took some time looking at my leg & asking my questions ( how ur feeling & such ) . These Dr's can't spend to much time , but enough .i'd personally recommend them . Unacceptable. They schedule appointments for 8am but don't even show up to open the doors until 757. Leave people waiting in the lobby for over an hour while they take personal phone calls and chit chat. The doctor I saw was ok, but they really need better management and desk staff. Appointment scheduler was rude on the phone and wrong about whether they had my medical records, forcing me to drive all over town only to find that the records had already been delivered. read more

I had a 3 level spinal fusion done by Dr. Elkanich on Nov.2, 2009 and the operation was fine. 2 years later I developed severe complications with the fusion from going back to work commercial driving. I needed Dr. Elkanich to help me re-open my Work Comp case which Dr. Elkanich charged me $750.00 that I had to pay out of pocket. He never did help me re-open the case and I did not get my money back. Fast forward to 3-15-2013 which is when I had to have decompression surgery by a Neuro-surgeon as a result of a failed original spine surgery. This Dr. says one thing and does another. I think he is only interested in money nothing else and his office staff are the biggest, rude, and totally incompetent nit wits that any Dr. could possibly have for staff. Save your money and your back, you only have 1 !!! read more
