I've ordered their bbq off the catering menu and ate in the restaurant yesterday for lunch. Overall I've tried the pulled pork, turkey breast, green beans, baked beans, and a variety of sauces. The restaurant is located on Rt 20 in downtown Bellevue. Their is ample parking behind the restaurant and their is an entrance in the rear as well. You pick a table, grab the menu off the table and order at the counter. Or you could just order at the counter off the menu on the wall. When you food is ready they call your name and you pick it up at the counter. The turkey breast yesterday was overcooked. The outer edges were rock hard dry. The inner part of the breast was just dry. I soaked each bite in a variety of sauces. The green beans are cooked in bacon and the version I had yesterday was just ok. Here's the perplexing part for me. I've ordered the same food off the catering menu and had a completely different experience with the food ordering in bulk. Turkey breast that is moist, tender throughout and has the perfect amount of smoke. Tender green beans with a rich bacon flavor. I split the difference between my experiences and gave them 3 stars. I hope they can figure out how to deliver great bbq at their restaurant the way they do with their catering business. It's almost like they have two different chefs preparing the food. One really amazing one putting out catering and another in the restaurant. Hopefully they can pull together and put out a better product in house. read more

Bone Boys catered a recent baby shower I had for my daughter in law. They were very helpful and friendly during the ordering and set up process. The food was AMAZING!!! I had them cater brisket, shredded turkey, and baked beans. I received so many compliments on all of the food. The brisket was soooo tender! Practically everyone went back up for seconds. I was actually sad there wasn't much left over to take home!! I will definitely order from them again!! read more

Well I am a hungry driver stuck in town till afternoon, because of an accident yesterday the place I was to load at this morning didn't have power and won't have it till 1 pm. Looked this place up and was gonna check it out. Got there looked very dark, walked up to door it was locked. Saw people inside, lady came to the door, can I help you?? Are you open??? She replied we only do catering now!! And up and almost slammed the door in my face!! Excuse me, well then take yourself off of everything that has been posted about you, CAUSE YOU SURE SUCK!!!! If I could give negative stars I would have, but have to at least have one to write this. Maybe someone will come along and see what a jewel this could be and open it back up like it should be. Cool restaurant decor with a big menu and small whisky bar. Reading reviews we had high expectations that fell short. Staff was unfriendly, didn't even acknowledge we were there. The pork was very dry but that's an easy fix. Same with brisket which lacked flavor. Burnt ends were tasty. Baked beans tasted straight from a can but the sweet potatoes and green beans made up for it. Lot of sauces to choose from but I would only suggest the sweet sauce. The baby backs and fries were good. The fries are hand cut. The ribs were moist, but not fall-off-the-bone tender. The brisket was dry with no distinguishable flavor. The texture reminded me of meat that is cooked too quickly on a higher temp than necessary. The cheesy potatoes were good once pepper is added. Burbon cake had a mediocre flavor, almost maple, but dry. Chicken was okay. Burnt ends did not meet expectations, slightly dry and overcooked. More seasoning and slower cooking with proper doneness would be beneficial for all meats. Get the baby backs fries, corn bread, and take your gamble on the rest. I don't know what place the other people have visited. But, I've given this place about 3 "second chances" and every time it's just plain awful. Tonight was the last "second chance" for Bone Boys. I ordered burnt ends (one of my favorites at the joint in Fremont), one of my all time favorite bbq treats. They were awful. Aside from some charring and a disgusting sauce, they had absolutely no flavor. No smoke taste at all. Didn't even try the sides as I through half the burnt ends away. read more

We went here for dinner on a Friday night. The onion rings are very good. We got those as an appetizer. My hubby and I both got the dinner platters which were pulled pork for me with sweet potatoes and baked beans. My hubby go the brisket with broccoli salad and cole slaw. Both came with a mini corn muffin. The prices were excellent and the meats were perfectly smoked and we paired them up with our favorite combination of their own BBQ sauces. My husband likes heat and sweet and it was proven to be the best combo for him by the sweat that he break out in if the flavor is perfect ! We will definitely be back ! read more

Stopped in after a long trip on the road on our way to Cleveland. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise to us. I had an order of chicken wings with the dry rub, and I didn't miss the sauces at all. The rub was flavorful but not overpowering. The sides (Mac and cheese, beans) are small enough to sample but not enough to stuff you. The cornbread comes in tiny mini muffins but is sweet and most. I wish I could come back but I'll remember having good 'cue on my way back to Jersey. read more

We came from Maryland and happened to stumble upon Bone Boys BBQ and I'm so glad we did. The place is tastefully decorated and the staff was very friendly. We ordered Ribs, Pulled Pork, 1/4 chicken, chicken tenders, cheese fries, loaded (homemade) potato chips and cheesy potatoes. The Ribs were meaty with a great bark and just the right amount of pull when you bite. Both the pulled pork and chicken were very moist and well seasoned. The sides were all excellent, our favorite were the cheesy potatoes! If you're in the area be sure to give this place a try! read more

I just used this catering service recently. Though the food was great, the communication was poor. Heads up table service is not provided unless you order it. They will set up for you at your venue but your need to request them to. I was not that satisfied with them and would not being revering them to anyone and not be using them again. read more

Great place with a great location in downtown Bellevue. However, I don't feel compelled to give a 5 star rating just yet. Nothing bad to say about the food - it was all amazing! This place has serious potential to be one of the best BBQs in the area if they fix some things I noticed during my afternoon visit. Some of the appetizers are overpriced. Paid $5.99 for THREE onion rings. Yup... just three regular sized onion rings. Too many cooks in the kitchen, as they say. No idea how they plan to stay open with a payroll that large. Point of sales systems seemed overboard for a simple BBQ. Not that this really matters to the average guest but I am reviewing hoping the owners will see this and start considering ways to start streamlining things ASAP before the place turns into a sinking money pit - because that is the overall impression I got during my visit. I hope they get the kinks worked out because this place is awesome! And I hope my initial impression of this place is not what it seems and they can stick around. Yep, as good as it gets. A pre-wedding picnic and guests were all raving. Easy to arrange, inexpensive, and the brisket just disappeared--guests adored it--and then realized they also loved the pulled pork. But cheesy potatoes were also what everyone was talking about. And I most love the broccoli salad!! Brussel sprouts, both with and without bacon were total hits. And the rolls are great but no one ate them because they wanted room for more potatoes and the tremendous mac and cheese. The left overs were also terrific the day after the wedding.....!! This is the kind of place that reminds you what real food tastes like. Fresh, house-made, unique recipes, a real antidote to chain food. The smoked meats have a great balanced flavor. The smoke, the rub, but most of all the flavor of the meat combine to make great BBQ. Portions are really generous (Except maybe the mini cornbread muffins;)) I've had BBQ in many of the temples of the art. I've visited the Salt Lick in Austin, the Rendezvous in Memphis, Joe's in KC and Lexington BBQ in NC and Bone Boys is just as worthy a stop. read more

The perfect solution to not eating fast food for lunch or dinner! The food is incredible (the cheesey potatoes, are AMAZING) and there is something on the menu for everyone. It does not take as long as your typical restaurant since you place your order when you come in, but still provides a great atmosphere to sit with friends and family and enjoy the meal and an (adult) beverage. The price is great and the bbq sauces on the table are all to die for! Can not say enough good things about this place. Amazing food, massive proportions. It is difficult to find a good bbq place in the north, so going into it and being skeptical is what I normally do in a northern bbq restaurant. What I had reminded me of some of the best bbq places the south has to offer. I had wings which were fried, they came out very dark but it must just be how they cook them. The wings were huge, not overcooked, crispy outside and juicy inside and were great paired with the sweet bbq sauce I drowned them in. I also had macaroni and cheese, which was very good but only lacked a layer of crunchy bread or cracker crumbs on too but that is just my preference. Lastly I had a full slab of ribs and sadly by the time I finished my wings and mac and cheese I was full. It was ok though, I got a to go box and needed another, the slab of ribs was so big that it had to go into 2 boxes. They were an awesome second meal that I ate after I got home that evening. When in Bellevue, I will definitely return. read more
