I smelled it, and it had a rottenwouldn't do any smell to it! Gross! I went back the same day and exposed the thing to the butcher. He flatly denied anything wrong with it and told me off. I tried to have my 75.00 dollars back, but he wouldn't do any of that. I walked away, leaving the meat behind and took the loss. That is when my friends who hunted told me that the place had become infamous for doing those shady mixes with God-knows-what. They all walked away from that pigsty.

The bottom of the frypan now has over a cup of water that they had added to increase the weight and and the cooked meat smelled bad. Another good business destroyed by greed.

I heard about Farmer Ben's and bought jjust a few items the first time (some hamburger, sausage, bacon and a couple steaks), and I was sold from thereon. The flavor, quality and freshness of the meat is unsurpassed. It's so worth the price to get such healthy, nutritious food. Their farm store sells other products as well (some excellent dairy and poultry products, plus grass-fed lamb from other farmers in the area). I confirmed their beef is grass fed raised up until the last stage of life and then fed oats, barley and rosemary to fatten them up. Which sounds cruel but at least they are given free range. Heritage meats reminds me of Bosa foods inside. They have son-in-law products in the freezer--artisan meat pies, Bison sausage etc.. The only downside to this shop is it's very pricey however that's that cost of good quality. They also have a little niche of local Fraser valley loose tea blends which look amazing.

The store has a many other items like turkey rolls or breasts if you want something smaller or there is pepperoni sticks, savoury pies or Krause berry pies and jams and fresh bread. There is also a deli to serve you lunch and soups. I always buy my turkey here now and it makes such a difference in the quality of bird compared to the store bought ones. More expensive but worth it for the quality and taste. Highly recommend buying a JD turkey!
