Clearly the owners of BonKrep have a good thing going for them. They care about their product and their service, as well as their reputation. I recently had the pleasure of spending an evening at BonKrep during the January 2015 Yelp! event. The creperie is seemingly hidden in the back of a larger establishment, and might prove a little difficult to find as a result. I tried the Oreo Cheesecake crepe, which sounded both uniquely different and promising. Unfortunately, I wasn't quite wowed. I would have liked for the crepe itself to be just a little crispy. Alas, it was not. Rather it was more of the thick and spongy kind. Also, the menu promised that the crepe wrap itself had some kind of chocolate flavor to the batter. Yet, while it looked a little brown, the flavor didi not come through. I guess I was just a little underwhelmed. Perhaps if they were not pumping out so many of the crepes back-to-back for the event they would have been able to spend a little more time making it just right...? I would definitely try it again, but wouldn't rush across town for the experience. read more
