The retail store of Bonsall Pool and Spa gets a five star rating because of the friendly and knowledgeable service provided; the Bonsall Pool Service and Repair Department, however, gets zero stars. Bonsall Pool & Spa built my vinyl-lined swimming pool in 1986. The company did a great job building it and were quick and competent with occasional repairs needed over 35 years. For the last few years, however, the repair department has been unresponsive to my pleas for help. I don't believe they have many trained technicians anymore who can carry out repair jobs. Apparently, their crew in the field is inadequate in meeting the demand. What is the problem with the structure of this business? Is it low salary not attracting knowledgeable technicians? Is it lack of training in specialized pool equipment repair? Whatever the problem, it has lowered the good reputation of Bonsall Pool and Spa. I do not recommend them for pool construction. read more

We have been unable to reach anyone on the phones and they don't show for scheduled appointments. They have taken money for parts and service, yet we can't reach them. I'd stay far away from them and buy your pool or hot tub where you can get better customer service. read more

Bonsall Pool and Spa did a tremendous job with us. We were looking for an affordable hot tub for our family of 5 and we got that and MORE! Their efforts to sell a hot tub are offensive, bordering on rude. They clearly don't feel any need to accommodate their prospective customers. But, they did make the process of shopping for a hot tub a little easier. I wouldn't buy a bar of soap from this dealer. They are making far too much margin, because they don't care if they sell anything. Shame on them for taking advantage of their family's prior hard work and commitment to family service. The 2nd & 3rd generation of Bonsall is clearly committed to no one other than themselves. Prepare to pay 20% more than you have to at any other dealer in the state. Hot Spring has a good reputation, but they are no longer the most efficient or near the highest rated hot tub out there. Shop around, you'll be glad you did. read more
