I took my partner and her son and wanted to get a wristband so he can ride whatever , he has autism and I wanted him to go on the rides at his own pace . Lady was rude and said there were no Armand's not mentioning the place to buy them was right around the corner . (We saw this after buying the tickets ) Also the child with autism waited an hour to ride the roller coaster and they made him leave bc the ride broke down (it was fixed only 2 mins later ) and he had to wait all over again , they could've let him have his spot back . The swings operator was horrible a group of teenagers got in front of all of us in line (there were at least 15) and they let them through to ride and didn't say a word .. it was rude and disrespectful. The positive review I'd have to say is always cullers . They have the best vinegar fries that I look forward to when I go . Candy apples were great and my partner loved the fat Albert game even though we didn't win , just watching the little mouse was super fun .. Word of advice : don't bring your debit card .. ever . Use cash for everything, I ended up having to dispute over $80 of fraud activities on my account :(

It's been at least 5 years since I last visited and I was impressed by the extensive trail network. The children's garden, Lost Hollow, was delightful even for adults! The castle playground was a big hit! You can get a solid walk/hike on the trails and they are well-maintained. Even in the winter, the gardens are nice and relaxing. The orchid conservatory is warm, vibrant, and thriving year-round! I was impressed with the size of their tropical plants - very impressive. It was a nice respite on a chilly December day. We were hoping to grab food at the cafe, but options were limited. Perhaps there are more food options during busier times. Overall, this is a great Charlotte-area day trip and a great place to take out-of-town visitors.

No mention of the cancellation on their website. No mention of it on their Twitter. The only mention was on their Facebook page. The day before I had purchased my tickets. The responsible thing to do would have been to send a notice to people who had purchased tickets (e-mails are required for purchase) or to close down their site, post a notice or turn off ticket purchasing. I tried reaching out to them on Facebook to get a refund. It shows they read my message but chose to completely ignore me and give no response. So 3 hours driving wasted, $45 spent for nothing, and a ruined Independence Day celebration is all I have to show.

Parking fills up quickly but people park in grassy areas along the road to make a faster escape after the game!

The beverage selection was soft drinks, lemonades with flavoring options, and water. I had a fresh squeezed lemonade with strawberry flavor that was delightfully refreshing. Lots of patrons packed their own cooler and went the BYOB route. The few who openly carried in a box of beer did not really fit in. Most responsible adults were discreet in their own cups, keeping their own trash in cooler, and handled it well. We did see some very young teenagers consuming that was concerning. Rodeo events included bareback bronco riding, saddled bronco riding, break-away calf roping, team calf roping, steer wrangling, barrel racing and of course, bull riding. Some kind of scoreboard or screen would have helped those around us keep track of things, or a visible timer. The announcer did an excellent job of explaining the scoring system and the scores of each ride. I loved the barrel racing. Lots of local talent participated along with the professionals. The rodeo clown stole the show with the kids calf scramble, a young ladies race to retrieve a water bottle, and a very well trained trick horse show. The professionals also did an excellent job of protecting the riders. Parking was easy and well laid out. The arena was in great shape and well cared for. The bleacher seats were well positioned. They could use a few signs to discourage standing or or sitting against the arena railing during the event. Police officers walked through several times to clear folks away from the rails and remind them of the danger.

This was my first official Beerfest and I cannot tell you how excited I was to attend. We even purchased our tickets in January to ensure we were not sidelined. We got to Baxter Village early and got pretty good parking. Our first stop was Six Pence where we headed for a bite to eat. After filling our tummies with some Irish fare we strolled over to Grapevine around 1pm. There was a line already snaking the building but after the VIPs entered, we were among the first dozen in line. Two o'clock came. Armed with my husband as the photo/camera man and my red notebook, we eagerly entered. I was like a kid in a candy shop. It was pleasantly overwhelming. We hit the rear of the event first thinking most partakers would try brew vendors at the front first. Considering that 1,300 tickets were sold, it didnt seem all that crowded. In fact, the long lines that some spoke of from previous years were really maybe five deep: MAX. I hit over two dozen breweries, talked beer and even took a slight break in just under 2 hours. People are friendly to the extent of wanting to be in our pics and those manning the taps were knowledgeable and willing to engage in beer convo! With my redbook, pencil, and eagerness to know MORE.... there was a moment at Bell's Brewery while I was asking pertinent questions that my husband backed up to take a pic. It must have looked important because some of their employees pushed the crowd just a little farther to allow him to take the perfect shot. Maybe, they thought I was a reporter; I'm not, but I do review beers with a passion. Overall, great time. Definitely a must if one is a lover of quality beer. No bud light, heineken, or Corona fans please. Next beerfest: Wear a necklace of pretzels, recon the event, and select a dozen brews to try and rate. Otherwise, one will go crazy. Craft beer should be enjoyed not chugged.

The camp is a natural amphitheater surrounded by lush indigenous foliage and the Pacolet river. Since Libre and Pam began working on the property, I've seen many improvements and added amenities.
