I love visiting this little bookshop every time in Walla Walla. Honestly, it's more of a gift shop/book shop/game store mix, and it is always chock-full of fun little trinkets to look at. All of the employees here are super friendly, and the store overall has a great vibe. Fair warning, it is always PACKED around the holidays, but for good reason-- there isn't a better spot to grab a Christmas gift. The prices are very reasonable, and I think the selection is pretty good for the size of the store. During my most recent visit, my MIL purchased me a beautiful edition of Paradise Lost for ~$20, which I thought was a steal. It's well printed and contains a lot of the gorgeous Doré woodblock prints, which I absolutely love. I will definitely be back! read more

I always visit a bookstore when traveling. Book and Game did not disappoint. They have a nice display of recent releases and best sellers at the entry, but a leisurely stroll is necessary to truly enjoy all its delights. Quirky gifts, scented candles, beautiful cards and fun magnets lure you in and kept me entertained. I left with Theo's Candy, three boxes of notecards and a new book I've wanted to read. It's a nice change of pace from the wineries. read more

What a cute little book store and more! They have a thoughtfully organized selection of books, games and trinkets. I found a selection of stickers near the counter to be exceptional. If you are looking for a unique gift for someone, this might be just the place. The staff was helpful and kind, even if you do show up right when they open. They have socks, reading lights, tea cups, stuffed animals, original artwork, greeting cards, pens, rocks, games, magazines, soap, toys, books, puzzles, knick-knacks and many other interesting things. You can peruse the store for hours and enjoy all they have to offer. (As Starbucks is across the street, you can also come in with your favorite beverage and have an even more enjoyable experience.) This is a fun store and the name describes them well. They have a great selection of books, board games, toys and trinkets. It's a fun shop to wander around In for a while. They've been around for years and I remember when they were in the Blue Mountain Mall. read more

It is an ok bookstore. NO Powell's house of books. Sometimes a little uncomfortable if there are many people in there. There is NO seating. While the inside of the store is usually fairly clean and neat, the outside of the building is really dirty. The windows and widow ledges look like they have never seen a hose. The sidewalks are full of gum and dirt. The building itself has chunks taken out of the stucco and that is right outside of the front door. I am really saddened the disregard this business shows for their surroundings, even if they don't own the building, show some pride and keep things clean around you. For a business in the heart of downtown, this is pretty bad. read more

What a find in Walla Walla! Such a fantastic independent bookstore! Super friendly staff and a really terrific selection. Maybe it just happens to be in all the areas I personally like, but great variety in kids books, local titles, magazines, cookbooks, not to mention a super cool toy and game section. Best of all perhaps is the teacher resource/educational section. Now knowing I will probably have to homeschool as disappointed as I am in Pendleton, Oregon schools (but that's another story entirely), this store has a fantastic workbook and resource section. Oh and they let your kids play with stuff! (Unlike some other local stores... Ahem...see my other bookstore reviews!) My kid had a meltdown when it was time to go and he couldn't stay with the marble run all day. And nobody rolled their eyes at me and hinted that it was high time for me to leave... :) read more

I called Book and Game looking for the Willow Tree Angels. They didn't carry them but gave me suggestions of two other places to call. Unfortunately neither of the places carried them either. About 5 minutes later, I get a call back from the employee I spoke to at Book and Game and he had found them at the two local hospitals in town. I thought it was very sweet to go above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for, even though I wasn't purchasing it from their store. Shows what good people they have working there.
