Unfortunately, drove an hour to the store and all the lights were off and door was locked. I checked all social media I could find, and there was no mention of this. Super disappointing for my first visit here.. read more

Are they still there? I went on a Saturday when the posted hours say 10-6, but they had a handmade sign in the door saying open 10-3, yet at 2pm it was closed. Lights were out, door locked. I called a few days ago to make sure they were still there before making the drive up, but no one answered. There's books inside still so maybe they are still in business? read more

Love this place! Cozy quaint bookstore filled with literature for everyone! The owner is a very compassionate, caring lady.She keeps the bookstore open because she likes to bring joy to the community , she doesn't make much revenue keeping her bookstore open but she loves the joy that her store provides for people in the community! Be sure to stop by and check out her books! read more

The Book Exchange is back and better than ever. Located in the Breezewood Shopping Center near Little Caesar's, the selections are abundant. I've been coming to this used bookstore for at least 15 years and it's the place to go. Books are half off the originally marked price if each book, and you can trade books in for a quarter of the price to be put as a store credit to your account. They especially have a good section of inspirational fiction, my favorite. read more

This place is fantastic. She moved just down the road to 10705 Courthouse Road. She has a lot more space now. The owner is a very nice person and she has a great memory of what books she has. A really vast selection of used and new books but mostly used. You can find almost anything. read more

The store is 95% fiction. The layout is clean and organized. A great little hidden gem. The best part is the owner. This lady is as sweet and friendly as you can find. Please support your local used bookstore. read more

I can literally spend hours getting lost in the stacks @ Book Exchange! The prices are fair (generally 1/2 off the cover price) and they're very nice about accepting books for trade credit. The store's selection is pretty good, but it shines in the fiction department. Lots of general fiction, as well as hearty offerings of romance, mystery, and sci-fi. A wonderful place to hunt down "wishlist" books and discover ones you didn't know existed. read more

The ambience is amazing and among the best of any bookstore I've been to. They have several comfortable chairs and couch spaces to sit and read. I brought my coffee and read the synopses of a few books while I was deciding which ones to buy. The books are very well sorted categorically and also alphabetically. They have a great selection of books in several genres - all for unbelievably great prices! I ended up buying two thriller books and will return to buy board games and more books sometime. The employees are super friendly and are very well versed with the inventory if you need help finding books.

Racks of overstock books at 20% off, up front, as well! The particular book i was serving for was allll the way in the back at the last table, and an employee showed me to it, very nicely! I ended up buying it online and doing a store pick up though, because the book was twelve dollars cheaper online than in store! No big deal, but the pick up was totally ready in about fifteen or twenty minutes! All in all it was a great experience and i will be frequenting this book store going forward!

A nice Barnes and Noble with a Starbucks inside. The product offering is wide, especially for the…read moresize of the store. In particular I like the size of their manga and magazine sections. They also host events fairly regularly like author signings and game nights. The only minor criticism is that sometimes it's hard to find an employee for assistance, but that's not really their fault.

I did find weekday appears to be either termite or roach in some books, so I had to being them home freeze them and they're still bagged for another 2 weeks to check for eggs. Staff was very helpful in letting me see items locked in glass cabinet displays. I purchased The Godfather Tarot and the house blessing on parchment paper. It was very easy to find. If you make a purchase more than $10 you can get a chance to enter a raffle to win a mystery gift. Prices are fair. I almost purchased a journal there yet decided to get it online since it was on sale. The shop has a vast tarot & oracle deck selection with 15% off on clearance items. Also affordable! 3. Fish tacos from the famous seafood spot. These were sadly my least favorite item on our little food tour, the slaw was overpowering but if removed the pan seared fish was flavorless. 4. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
