Personally, I don't like how the sections were all rearranged after years of being the same, but BAM has maintained its organization and variety of books and other items. Plus a decently sized clearance section. The iconic manga + young adult section isn't as distinctive and exciting as it used to be (but also I'm getting old LOL), but it's still a fun place to browse. 1 star off because there's no longer a public restroom and the prices for non-book items are often ridiculous. I went in recently and purchased a magazine. Upon paying, the cashier asked me to check 3 out of the 5 magazines on the debit card screen. She said whatever 3 I checked, they would send me a free issue. I assumed they did that to try to get you to subscribe obviously. What she failed to tell me, that by doing this, she actually subscribed me to all of the magazines checked. She never mentioned anything about that or that I would be billed for anything. A month later, my debit card got billed for all 3 subscriptions. It also overdrew my account because I wasn't expecting any unauthorized charges to come out of my account. I was livid. I called and talked to the manager and she could care less. Her "professional answer" was we will look into different ways of how we do marketing. I could care less what you look into, I want to know how my debit card signature counted as a subscription contract without any knowledge. And the fact they weren't eager to offer any solution speaks volumes of this place. I had to call a third party company to cancel. I never got refunded for the subscription or the 3 over draft fees that happened when they ran my account short. read more

This is a large bookstore that offers new and used books (as well as games, puzzles, and electronics). There is a vast collection... but: The prices for most books (first edition or otherwise) are completely outrageous. The sales clerks are often pushy when/if you interact with them. Books are arranged by author and general category only. If you are interested in exploring different genres - such as horror, drama, or coming-of-age - then you will have a difficult time finding a designated area here. read more

They dont want your business unless you are healthy enough to WALK all the way down to enter store from inside the mall. Handicapped pepple who patk outside cannot use the parking lot entrance. What a shame. I typically spend a fortune there at christmas. They need to control/stop people who use their exits for mall access. And stop punishing their customers. read more

this place is rather large and has a vast selection of reading material, games, cards and candy. we picked-up a book and some discounted holiday candy (75% off!!) for our road trip and our purchase should've only taken a few minutes. but at this location, both cash register areas (the mall and parking lot entrances) were poorly-manned (1 person at the register for at least 5 and more people waiting in-line). this fact was more irritating when i realized (while patiently standing in-line) that there were more floor staff just standing around and making conversation with other staff instead of manning the registers. the redeeming factors were the nice register guy, Andrew, who finally rang us up and the discounted candy. read more

This location has been open for a while and they never have updated the store from its Borders' Days. Staff isn't bad, but even they seem confused by the location of books (or have trouble finding some). Pricing can be higher in store than their website (which is always frustrating). The store also seems more crowded with toys than books. I hope updates come soon or I can see this place going the way of Borders. (Makes me wish for a Barnes & Noble) read more

Great spot to shop. They have something for people of all ages. They have a nice space were you can just sit, drink a coffee and relax. The environment is very peaceful, you almost forget that you are at the mall! read more

Well, I'm not sure where to begin. 1. The place is infested with fleas. I've seen them there several times on chairs and shelves. I had gotten flea bites as well around my ankles if I've been in the store for a longer period of time. I've told one of the managers (I think her name is Amy), but she didn't seem at all concerned. I even contacted the Health Department, but I've stopped going altogether because it doesn't look like they've done anything to fix the problem. 2. The managerial staff is standoffish or they go out of their way to try and avoid you. I see one of the managers all the time standing in a more secluded part of the store either texting on her phone, or talking to this same guy over and over. I've must have seen the same guy 5 times with her, and I don't think he's an employee. It's probably her husband. 3. There's an employee there who constantly uses her e-cigarette in the store. Even while she's with customers she uses it. 4. They always push their rewards card. Don't be fooled, their card seems nice but it costs $20!!! I bought one a long time ago and if you frequent the place as much as I did then it is definitely worth it. But they have one employee there who has tried selling me the card over and over without even telling me it actually costs money. I've had to stop him several times from charging me the extra money for a card I already have. All-in-all, this place used to be a lot better. They're no longer a store that wants to sell books, all they care about are those rewards cards. You'd think a book store's primary goal was to sell BOOKS, not cards... That paired with the severely declining cleanliness of the store borders on the criminal negligence. I mean they serve food there at their cafe and the place is infested with fleas! Disgusting! I don't know what happened to the store, but I guess that managerial staff and their District Supervisor should be fired because they've ruined a great store. Rest in peace BAM :( read more
