JOE MUGGS This review relates to the Coffee Shop within the Books-A-Million store. When we first saw the Coffee Shop, it reminded of us the Starbucks you would find within a Barnes and Noble. Definitely not... The signage said that most of the holiday drinks were sold out. Someone from the bookstore walked over to take our order. We told them we wanted a cappuccino. It should've been a red flag when they tried to talk us out of ordering the beverage. They asked if we were certain we wanted a cappuccino because it was simply a small amount of coffee with a lot of foam. To clarify, a cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink made with equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam, creating a creamy, balanced, and frothy texture. I did not question what they said and simply ordered the beverage. When I brought it back to my family, they took one sip and immediately poured it out. They said it tasted like strong coffee in the bottom and nothing but foam in the rest of the cup. So.... Do not order waste your money on coffee from Joe Muggs. read more

Books-A-Million - Bookstores Near Me - Brunswick, Georgia

Lots of books! The place has a warehouse feel due to lighting and set up. It's not flashy. Prices are the same as B&N. Same type of bargain book area. There are lots of comics, tarot, bibles, trendy items galore. If your looking for an offbeat browsing experience check them out. 4 stars are for ambiance. While I found the young girl who answered the phone a bit offputting - she repeated EVERYTHING I said to the person in the background - then relayed the answer to me. Then gave me wrong closing time. Then asked me a question I had already answered (asked me if I wanted to hold or be called back - when I had clearly stated that I wished to be called back. But once it was determined they did, in fact, have one copy of Walter Mosley's latest EZ Rawlins novel: Charcoal Joe, in stock - I drove over and the customer service, in person, was outstanding. I arrived - literally 6 minutes before closing - and still the bearded gentleman at the register was patient and friendly, taking me around the store to various sections and extolling the virtues of Mr. Mosley. And Tanya, was a complete rockstar. She was honest and knowledgeable - and went out of her way to tell me about the Books-A-Million - both the store and the .com. And she did it in such a way that it didn't feel pushy or obnoxious. Alas - there aren't many of the brick & mortar stores near my home - and this one is 6 hours away from Cobb - but if I lived nearby - I'd definitely make it a point to drop by regularly. read more

Joe Muggs employee Justin displayed unproffessional behavior during my visit. He presents an unwelcoming feel, during my order he gave me a snobby tone and failed to understand my wants and questions. I ordered an iced Americano with light water and was charged triple expresso on ice(not an americano) I will not be back and will share my experience with my fellow baristas and friends to save them the time and money. read more

I received the worst customer service in the coffee shop that I've received in a very long time. There were very few people in the store at about five in the evening and I asked for a regular cup of coffee. The employee was rude to me. She said that all she had was decaf. I asked when she would have something else and she was hateful to me and said I'd have to pay her first and it would take 7-11 mins. I said that I'd hate for her to have to make some more on my account and she just starred at me so I walked away and went to Starbucks. I was able to get a cup of coffee there with out the attitude. On the way out of books a million I asked for the employees name that clearly needs better customer service skills. The man at the counter said her name was Erin .I've purchased all of my books at books a million for the past eleven years but now I'll be ordering online from Barnes & noble. read more

I love how they advertise FREE internet. You can either pay $15 for a year or $5 for the day.... Uhm... Can someone please explain to me how this works? So... If I give you $5 for internet is that free? No..... Lets divide $15 by 365... That is almost 5 cents. So, if I give you a nickle for every single day of the year is that free?? No.... Maybe some moron thought 'If they pay $15 today, than tomorrow they're having free internet." So, if I put $50 in my gas tank today does that mean I'm driving for free tomorrow? No. To give you guys some credit, I understand we live in the United States. And for some reason false advertising is completely okay. I think it is elementary. It's like saying 'Oh I had my fingers crossed.' I don't have a problem with paying you a nickel a day. But don't bullsh!t me by saying it is free. THERE IS NOTHING FREE ABOUT IT. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Overall, Books-A-Million is pretty laid back. They carry the popular in-trend books. There was a specific book my sister was trying to find, but they did not carry it. Service is pretty good and well lots to buy from. My favorite part of Books-A-Million is the Joe Mugs. The employees there are nice, and the food is good! read more

A great selection of books and gifts to keep any reader happy. The in house coffee shop is an added draw.

They have free wi-fi but you log in using one of your social network logins. Pretty good clearance deals outside the store. I did a lot of price checking with Amazon and their were some deals to be had in store. Very clean and quiet with a number of folks reading and enjoying free internet. read more

The customer service here is mediocre at best. Its hard to find a sales representative on the floor to get any help. However the organization of this company can only be compared to a two year olds bedroom after searching for a toy! The best way to find a book 80% of the time is thru their website! read more

Not busy, or crowded. Staff friendly and coffee hot and good. My internet was free so I'm not sure why others are being charged. I enjoyed the big store and no rush atmosphere here and will not doubt return again. read more

Coffee was fresh and hot. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Book seletion is very good considering the market is being killed off by online retailers. It is nice to browse a good bookstore, and this is one of 'em! read more
