The staff were friendly and helped out a lot with directing me to interesting books. Ended up buying some cute earrings and a couple other items. Loved this place.

I initially stopped by to pick up the latest release from one of my favorite authors, but somehow left with two books instead. (Book lovers will understand!) I was warmly greeted when I arrived, and the welcoming atmosphere immediately made me want to linger and browse. What I appreciate most about MahoganyBooks is that it does much more than sell books. The bookstore is intentional about creating space for authors of color to be seen, celebrated, and supported. From book signings and author events to community activities and wellness-focused gatherings, it's clear that they're building community through literature and culture. After browsing the shelves, I visited the small café inside the bookstore for a smoothie before taking my new books down to the waterfront. Finding a bench by the water and reading a few pages while enjoying the beautiful views of National Harbor was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Between the thoughtfully curated book selection, welcoming atmosphere, café, and beautiful waterfront location, the experience feels like much more than a trip to a bookstore.

Awesome, cozy, quaint little book store in Old Town Warrenton. I met the owner - I believe her name…read moreis Cammie. I asked her some questions about the availability of some hard cover versions of "The History of Middle Earth" series edited by Christopher Tolkien. She gave me some great intel on some news about hardcover versions of these books - coming later this year! As I turned to leave, I found snoozing away right in front of me - on a worn cardboard box - an adorable, soft, snuggly little cat. I immediately oohed and aahed and asked if was permissible to pet this little bundle of joy. Cammie told me to go ahead and pet away. I asked if it was a boy or girl - and what was their name and age? Turns out - she is a she - a little one year old named "Fable!" She is sooooooo soft and she immediately went into major purrr mode as I started giving her some attention. She is the resident Book Store kitty! Love it! #TheOpenBook

What made me want to visit The Open Book was their window showcase of Where's Waldo seek and find books (my fav)! We walked into a beautiful bookstore. We walked around pointing to all the books we like when I saw the book for me! (I mean, my grandson). It's the ABC's of Virginia!! I grabbed that book so fast and went right to check out. Check my pics for contents and you'll know immediately why I chose it. Great stop here!

My husband likes to browse music books, and all sorts of books. It is simply a great place to go and wander and find those books that speak to you. The prices are great too. Mckays…read morehas always had inaccurate pricing, but today they were so bad that I almost thought I was dreaming. Tell me why I saw Star Wars the Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for $18... Currently this game goes for $3.67 on pricecharting, heck when it game out in 2008 its peak was only a measly $5. Multiple gbc/gba shovelware games all overmarket, by around 10 dollars as well. In general the amount of 3-5 dollar games that they are trying to pass off as 15 - 20 dollar games is dis gracefully disgusting. The point of traveling to these stores are to get the good deals. All of the inventory they have are traded in for or donated so it makes NO sense! It seems that the employees make guesses when it comes to prices, that or they are being told to overprice by upper management. By the gaming section there was a sign that claimed that all of the consoles and equipment is tested beforehand by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" whatever that means. I got an Xbox One Kinect from them back in December, and worked normally. A couple days later I wanted to try using its mic functionality, was not functioning. So it was never fully tested by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" lol. The worst part is that they give you a 3 day warranty... it's not like people have kids, jobs, or other commitments I guess. The media (dvds and blu rays) were also overpriced per usual. Usually only by 5-10 bucks. My main discrepancy today was that I saw multiple dvds and blu rays with dirt and filth smattered on the covers. Your telling me that they have the audacity to up charge, and still refuse to even spend 10 seconds wiping the cover with a lysol wipe? Is it that hard to do? Disgusting! I can't speak on their book pricing as I am not well versed but pretty much everything else is overpriced in this store. It really sucks because these type of stores are supposed to be for lower income families who can't buy new. And instead is being treated like a greedy gaming convention booth. I genuinely feel bad for kids nowadays who want to start growing a small gaming collection post pandemic. With greedy "thrift" stores like this, even the shovel ware games are off-limits.
