Liam and Kate were so helpful and went above and beyond at my visit yesterday. They gave me a time frame of when I would be called via the intercom. The selection of books, CDs, DVDs, video games, and other exciting things were all presented with visual aesthetics. The rest of the staff assisted me with where the restroom was at and another person helped me out with where to go by directing me to the way to get there. Liam again helped me out with my books I placed on to the push carts. Kate was there to help me out at the cash register after I found a few books I have been looking for at other book stores and online. I would like to highly suggest any book readers or book worms, any other physical media, or nostalgic items to come to this store and support a great collection of not only books, but a very professional team and staff at this particular store location. I understand stores gotta make money. Most items were close to retail. However, somethings I did like. Their graphic novels I felt were priced faire. Their dvds and blurays were priced fare. I visited this b&n location after visiting the Arden and Folsom location, and I was very excited to find that they were carrying a specific book that I couldn't find at the other two. A bookseller even came by to talk about the book with me and she was absolutely raving about it. I spent quite some time in this store, and was very surprised when she remembered me at checkout! I got a chance to chat with her and the bookseller at the cash register over about the book and what a pleasure it was. They've got a repeat customer out of me!

Bookworm has plenty of authors for every subject. The genres range from sci fi to legal aid to romance to just about anything. I went to purposefully look for parts of series that I was missing. I totally found what I needed at a good price. The used books range in quality from rough to new-ish. The ages also range from '70s to this year. The staff was super nice! They helped me find things and told me about the store. I loved the packed feel. It made me feel like I was in an overgrown library. The books like plants slowly taking over the store. I'll definitely be back. They even had books in the hallways. It was easy and fun to browse the shelves and the titles weren't too esoteric, not just hard back Shakespeare but plenty of beach reads and quality adventure novels to sink my mind into. Still, i allowed each of my children to pick one book. when we got home I discovered that my three year old had put a little board book in her bag without me knowing so we talked about it and resolved to return it and make things right. She's 3. It wasn't malicious theft. But when we returned to give the book back the lady simply said "humph well THATS not good." and she didn't say a word about thanking us for doing the right thing in returning it or understanding that toddlers need opportunities to correct their mistakes and learn right from wrong. The whole thing was very upsetting for my daughter who had been saying the entire car ride there "Im sorry mom I'll never do that again" but then was met with cold and unfriendly glares and harsh words at the store. i will never step foot in this overpriced and unfriendly book store again.

Where my mom lives they don't have a similar bookstore near her so this was a treat for her. They had a lot of items on clearance and good stuff too. Books, photo albums, games, ect. A new item I've never seen before was Old Testaments with journal aspects included in each page. The book is extra large and they have margins with blank lines in it for journaling. They also have all sorts of styles. The one that caught my attention was the one with flowers on the front. I think this is a great invention for someone who love studying the Old Testament and wants to take notes so they can refer back to them. I believe they have this for the New Testament too. They also had a great assortment of men's ties and socks. That was a new addition to a book store. They had beautiful white handkerchiefs with the Temple Embroidered on it in white. They also carry drinks and snacks, that's a new addition. And I was surprised to see food in a bookstore. They also carry games for all ages. This is a really nice bookstore and it is a one shop stop for you Church needs.

Yes, it was clean and brightly lit, with all sorts of lovely 'Waldorf' approved items for sale including make-up, art supplies and texts but my overall experience with service was the pits. My story is this: I bought books the first week of school that were not to be used until the second week and when the professor decided the text (Percival) was not to be used... the bookstore would not take it back. According to them the cover was bent. It had sat in my car with absolutely no use for a week. I explained that the bend was from shelf wear..not my car but they wouldn't have it. I appealed to their shift manager who again told me the same thing and then asked me to leave. How embarrassing!!! I left the book on the counter, attempting to give them the book for free so that it could find another home that needed it and they refused to take it back as a gift saying it was used. For a campus that prides itself on sustainable behaviors I found this totally silly! I walked down to the library and left it there like it was some sort of peace offering. Anyway..now I go out of my way to use Amazon, eBay and other online resources to get books for my Steiner training...and I have found it is much cheaper and way more friendly! The store has a large education section, brimming with curriculum materials for Waldorf teachers, curious parents, and those who are homeschooling. In the back room is a lovely toy selection, with sturdy, well-made and beautiful toys such as one might find in a Waldorf classroom or kindergarten. Their hand-made dolls are stunning! One of my favorite parts of the store is the selection of beautiful beeswax candles, and also the craft and art supplies. Lots of books on felting, knitting, doll-making, rose windows, and the materials for the craft projects, along with a nice selection of Stockmar crayons and Lyra pencils. I am writing this…read morereview after having visited twice and it is hands-down the best Christian bookstore in the area. Not only where we greeted with smiles and wonderful Christian music playing, the whole store was nostalgic to the old Christian bookstores we grew up going to. The store has a wide variety of all things for your spiritual walk ranging from books to pens to brand new Bibles and even apparel. On top of coming here to shop for a few things to take back home, they offer Bible engraving! I was able to engrave my name onto my brand new Bible, buy a brand new Bible and engrave it for my dad, and also buy two Bible cases for those brand new Bibles. I also walked out with a couple of Christian themed T-shirts, a handful of candy, and a huge smile on my face. Everything there is definitely worth the price tags, which aren't that much to be honest, and all of it is backed by good quality service. Each person that works there is very knowledgeable about all the items in their store and are quick to help and order anything that they may not have. If you are in the Sacramento area or even if you are an hour out and are looking for good quality Christian materials, you need to be here. It was the last thing I expected to see in cute ole Downtown Davis. I'd say come to Sac if you're looking for bookstores that won't make you feel weird entering. Edit: To clarify, I found it pretty disappointing that there was an entire shelf dedicated to European history, and another shelf generalized as "world history". Within the "world history" shelf, I saw a row of books specifically about Israel and Zionism, albeit not labeled as such. The only book with Palestine in the title was on display, but on the back cover it specified that it recounts the "experiences of Zionist women settling in Palestine", and not indigenous Palestinians. I scanned the shelf and didn't see a single book about Palestine, despite a fair number on Israel. Given how charged this topic is with the ongoing genocide in Gaza, I felt uncomfortable as it seemed that the bookstore had taken an intentional stance by not providing, at the very least, accounts of both sides of the matter.
