Honestly, The Rolling Donut reminds me of Dough in NYC and Brooklyn, my favorite donut spot. Sadly, I did not have an opportunity to go back and try the red velvet donut (with cheesecake filling). The store is very small and cute, with a majority of the space taken up by the long glass display, which houses their large selection of beautifully decorated donuts. After browsing over the different flavors, the attentive donutarian bagged my order of a single Lemon Poppyseed donut. While on layover in Frankfurt, I finally decided to roll into the lemon poppyseed donutiness... The donut was OK, it had a bready texture, which made sense, because it was a sourdough donut. The glaze on top of the donut was really thick, and it wasn't overly sweet to my taste buds. The glaze also had a light lemon flavor that provided some tartness, and just a few poppy seeds on top. As my friend had mentioned, their donuts are kind of big and filling for one person to eat alone, so I would definitely recommend sharing the love! (and calories)

The coffee is very good too, prepared espresso-style (so order an Americano for a plain black coffee). Add to that reasonably prices, friendly service, a cheerful room, what more do you need? I also had a specialty coffee which they make on the spot. There is a great selection of fresh and delicious speciality doughnuts and a "Donut of the day" but we were too late for that. We left and continued our walk only to stop for a minute and use a pail as our table. These donuts are good.... I mean really good.
