When my daughter said she wanted to add a Duke tennis program to her already crazy schedule I agreed but said she had to get herself home to Chicago. And I'd help by booking her a car service to the airport- and flight ;) Both Yelp and a local friend recommended Triangle Coach Coach. I called a few weeks ahead to book and thought I had everything sorted. They were very on top of their game and send me contact info for a driver days beforehand and were very easy to chat with. Minutes before my daughter was getting picked up she called to let me know I booked the driver for the wrong date and he was scheduled for Friday (not Thursday). Oops! I called the car service in a panic and they said they could get another driver there within 30 min. Phew Douane picked her up within 30 min. I got an email when he was there to get her and again after he dropped her off at the airport. Really great for a worried parent who gets minimum communication from her teenage daughter ;) I could have gotten an uber for about $75 less, but felt safer doing this when she was across the country. I would definitely use them again for myself or children.

"Cowboy", the seemingly affable owner, told me that he needed to take full payment in advance, of $319 for four hours. When I asked if I could give him my Amex, he said that while he did take Amex, he prefers Visa (unfortunately, my debit card) because he gets paid sooner. (In hindsight it would seem he did this because Amex is harder to win customer disputes with.) When the driver arrived, he asked for his tip in advance. (I said no, thankfully.) He then asked me to sign a contract, in the dark. I later learned that is called a "Contract of Adhesion" and it's no more admissible than the legalese you get on an automated parking garage ticket. About twenty minutes into the drive, one of my friends lights up. The driver literally stops the limo, comes back and opens the door, and tells us we can't smoke. No problem, we say, and we put it out immediately, without any discord. Three minutes later, a woman from the limo company calls me (who we later deduced was "Mrs. Cowboy") and says she heard there was smoking, and she was going to charge us $250 to "fumigate" the limousine. After speaking with three different members of our group - alternately trying the "good cop", the "bad cop", and the "lawyer cop" - she wouldn't budge, and she finally gave us a choice: pay the $250, or terminate services immediately. We said fine, we'd terminate services. (Our plan was to use the $75 in tip money to pay for a ride home.) Guess what? When I returned home, I found an email that they charged us the $250 anyway. So now we have paid $559 for less than 1 hour of services. When I called the next day to try to discuss it, they refused to answer the phone. Later that week, I got an email solicitation from them for future services. I responded with detail of my issue, saying they didn't return my phone call. That email has not been returned.

All the businesses that took part in the contest delivered wonderfully except one, cowboy limos. The day of the prom 4 hours before pick up they call and said they could not deliver the limo that we signed a contract for because "some Mexicans messed it up inside at a concert the night before. " and it needed cleaning. They sent a small bus that looked like the one the hospital uses to transport visitors and patients! It was so very disappointing. "Mr. Cowboy" did not want to return any phone calls of course and did not care to make his customers happy. Needless to say we have found a new limo company that wants to make us happy this is why we have already used them twice this summer.

Just a verbal assurance that it was all handled. Disorganized about our arrival details even though we had put them succinctly in writing. They were apologetic when they told us nothing like this had ever happened before and they were embarrassed, etc but there was no suggestion or offer of sending another driver or providing a solution. When we texted that we still had not heard from the driver and we tried to call, we were unable to reach anyone for several minutes. So, we were left to deal with the situation on our own. I guess the silver lining was that it was our first service at the airport where there are options abound. Had this been our pick up going back to the airport things could have been MUCH worse. Michael, the owner, was charming and reassuring to talk with on the phone initially but utterly failed us.
