Horrible & dishonest. Thought this place was legit. Screwed me royally on a clutch replacement job…read more The clutch didn't last 4 months. They also put my exhaust pipes on crooked. I had to go back over there to have them straighten my pipes after the job. They will not honor any of their work, they will not warrantee anything. I now have my car at a reputable transmission shop. They verified that my starter was only hanging on by one bolt, and that the person who worked on it last, left his socket head on the bolt that was holding it in. The other two bolts were gone and the housing threads on one of them was stripped. I am now having to have it re-threaded, and an entire new clutch kit and fly wheel that was damaged because of this shop. The pressure plate was installed with 3 different size (wrong) style bolts. The throwout bearing was in 4 pieces, rolling around inside. When calling to inform them of this, I was responded to by the owner, "way does this seem to only happen to you?" Then states false claims and denies any fault on the shops part. He has had two very good mechanics quit in the past year....Hmmmm? I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. The owner must have selective amnesia, and he will likely respond to this post trying to defend himself. They are dishonest people, and they lie!

After Kevin explained to me what he and his team determined to be at fault with the vehicle, I began to inquire on part replacement cost, labor cost, and how long the repair would take. You know, typical questions any customer would ask and need to ask in order to help make an informed decision. Kevin explained to me they haven't been able to find a replacement part but they were still looking. I then asked what their hourly labor cost were and he replied $95 an hour. I then inquired if he could give me a ball park estimate of how long it would take to complete the job. It was at this time Kevin flipped out and informed me he had no interest in working on or repairing our vehicle. Suspecting they would never get the car out the door because we would later blame and accuse him and his shop for every other thing that were to break on the vehicle. I then informed him that this would not be the case and that I was simply trying to get an idea of what this maintenance action was going to cost. I also suggested and insisted that the conversation didn't have go this way, but he insisted that because he has been in business for over 29 years that he already knew "where this was going". He then told his technician to button the vehicle up and push it outside because they would not be working on the car. After telling me we needed to have the car picked up and taken to another shop he hung up. I have never before experienced such a shady and unprofessional business encounter. I would seriously think twice and seriously consider another shop over Barker's Auto Service even as a last resort, because customer service, care, and empathy are definitely not any of their top concerns based on my experience with them. Hopefully this helps and saves others from having their time wasted, experiencing additional inconveniences and hardships while being without transportation. Best wishes everybody.
