Continually driving by the highway signs with directions to Boone Distilling became too much. I had to try the place and sample their bourbon. Boone offers two tasting packages. A full hour long tour for $8 and a 15 minute narrative sampler for $5. Since my time was limited, I quickly reserved a 15 minute session online. The online scheduling system was quick and easy. The feel of the small tasting room is extremely cozy and warming (or is that the bourbon talking). The tasting included 4 bourbons plus 1 rum or gin. A shot glass and reusable plastic cup are also included with the tasting. The tour guide leads you through the history of the distillery, lesson on how to taste bourbon, and details of the 5 sampled beverages. Both employees working were quite enjoyable to talk with during my time on site. If time allowed, I would probably have another drink or two to continue our conversations. At the end of the tour, I purchased a bottle of bourbon to take home to enjoy. The Boone Distillery was a fantastic stop near the entrance of northern Kentucky. read more

The girl who was doing the tour was not very good. She kept talking in one big breath and seemed like she was about to pass out as fast as she was talking. A little disappointed with that aspect. I would have preferred someone who knew more. Good business tho, with top notch bourbon. read more

We there over the weekend - what a fabulous place. I have NOTHING bad to say about Boone County. The operation is as impressive as the staff. I would say if you want to be treated like someone special this distillery is a MUST visit. Not only is the bourbon top shelf (so says my husband) but their rum and tequila can definitely hang out with Captain and Jose at any party. This is a great little gem tucked back in an industrial park. The tour was concise but informative and the tasting covered the majority of their products and additional tastings were for purchase of their top shelf items. The tour guide was informative and accommodating. The tours were also kept small and followed COVID guidelines. They have a cocktail menu which features their products. Cocktails were for purchase before the tour and could be taken on the tour which was a nice touch. Their bourbon cream was delicious and they gave us recipe cards to take with us to try out various cocktails. They are currently building a new tasting/event space as well as an outdoor area- we will be back to visit in the future. read more

I was very disappointed with this place. We arrived 16 minutes before they were closing and they did not allow us to even do a small tasting. My brother came in from Alabama and wanted to get the stamp for his whiskey passport and the older man at the front desk was very rude and would not allow him to receive a stamp. My brother was even going to buy the $100 cash strength bourbon but was not even allowed to receive the stamp. The bourbon may be good but the service at the distillery was awful. I will definitely not be giving them my money. There are plenty of nicer smaller distilleries that will receive my money now. read more

We had a group of 20 friends for a tour. The service and hospitality was excellent. The tour lasted about 1 hr but we had to cut it short due to a group dinner reservation we had planned. Pricing for the tour, Bourbons and gifts were very fair. The tour guide was also one of the Partners of the distillery. read more

I have never been on any bourbon (or any brewery) tour before and this was my very first experience. Super close to Cincinnati (near the airport) and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. We walked in without an appointment and a tour had already started. The staff member was super accommodating and made it happen for my party of 5. We had Mitchel (highly recommended) lead the tour and he was amazing. I thought it would be boring, but Mitchel made it so interesting that I actually walked away with some tidbits. Don't let the small size discourage you from visiting - they really make it a good tour. read more

What a fantastic place to visit! We just moved to the area and are only 3 miles away from this gem! The people are so incredibly nice and knowledgeable, the tour is extremely inexpensive and the experience is incredible! They will yeah you about how they make their spirits, the history behind them, give you a tour of the facility as well as a tasting at the end...... which will basically MAKE you buy their delicious Bourbon Cream! It is not a huge place, it is smaller as distilleries go but that is why you should go. It has charm. They are better able to figure on their visitors and you can buy their bourbon at their store which can be harder to find out in the open market. You will certainly not be disappointed! read more

It's really a great tour and worth the trip. You get to really walk through the stills and fermenters and see how everything is done. The guide knew his stuff. They were cooking rye when we were there and it smelled amazing. The tasting after is also very good and they make some very good spirits. read more

Boone County Distilling is one of Florence's best kept secrets. They have the best bar and event center in the area, and I highly recommend Bourbon! I have been to many distilleries in the area, and they are by far the top notch with the best product. Nichole their bar tender took really good care of us while we were out there having a drink at their nice bar. I know that it seems odd to have a place like this in an industrial are, but it is well worth the visit and especially go to the bar and have some drinks. They have beer, rum, tequila, bourbon, and plenty of creative mixed drinks to choose from. We love this place so much, we bought one of their barrels and made our own barrel table from it. We booked our 2:00pm tour online; they welcome walk in; our tour was full. The tour is very well done, its not a big place like other Kentucky Distilleries, but its nice. Our guide was very knowledgeable. They have worked very hard to bring in the history of the old Petersburg, Boone County distillery that's been gone for almost a hundred years and most locals aren't even aware. The tour is a great price; you can't beat it at $6. A 40 minute tour with tasting included. We tried the moonshine, bourbon cream and the bourbon. The Eighteen 33 bourbon was made elsewhere, but with the same recipe. It is a nice bourbon, good flavor, nice nose. They are now part of the Bourbon Trail craft tour (something like this); not one of the big boys, but on the tour and worth the visit. Whether you are a local; or your in Cincinnati for the week, take the 30 minute drive down to BC Distillery. read more

We stopped by the distillery today and took the one hour tour. The tour guide (forgot her name) was local to the area... knowledgeable and did a great job educating the group on the history and distilling process. The bourbon tasting was fun and educational as well. Our favorite was the Bourbon cream. Afterwards we shopped a bit in the gift shop. One constructive comment: $8 per person, although not outrageous seemed a bit steep for this particular craft distillery tour compared to other KY distillery tours we've been on. We felt too much time was spent pointing out pictures on the walls and circling the processing area to fill in for the 1 hour time slot. Maybe adding a souvenir glass to take home or even a shot glass at the end of the tour would make the $8 per person price a bit more palatable. That said, we would certainly recommend.
