Boot is super tiny and filled with friendly! Both of the young folk who work behind the counter were fairly chatty and interested in engaging with the clientele, both those whom they knew and didn't. The owners have done well in choosing staff. -props to them. I also liked the feel of the place. Was I in Paris? Brooklyn? London? It is a wee independent isle of coffee tucked into rue du Pont aux Choux. I can't now recall what beans (not yet for sale to the public, but, I would hope, that they are working on it) they were using (Cafe Lomi?), but the drinks were perfect--neither sour nor bitter, well-balanced. This used to be my favorite coffee shop. I now won't go back. In the past, there was a charming British woman who worked there, and it was a chill place. The coffee was really good. It was definitely a millennial hangout. I visited today while in the area. A young man served me. The espresso was not particularly good. While having my small 5 Euro drink, I pulled out my laptop to do some light homework. The barista literally shouted, "No laptops, sorry!" I finished my drink and left. Wow, how this place has changed. It's not welcoming anymore, and the quality is gone. read more

Tiny little cafe just off Republique and close to the Marais. Coffee is currently from Berlin based roasters Five Elephants and they make a variety of espresso based coffees (flat white, latte, cappuccino, espresso) but no cold coffee due to space limitations. Went here two days in a row during my visit to Paris. This establishment is perfect for cute Instagram photos, coffee, and pastries. Not necessarily in that order....... I'm not a coffee drinker but my sister is and she said her coffee was "fantastic!", which is a big statement considering she is a coffee snob! The banana bread, lemon poppy seed bread, and orange bread was all very nice and not too sweet, which is key! Homemade as well! I wanted to try their hot chocolate but I opted for their lemonade which was unsweetened and way too tart. They did have simple syrup and sugar available to add to it but I couldn't combat the tartness. I have to say that I did drink it all because I figured their was something healthy I could benefit from with the citrus. This place is very, very small which is okay. The offerings are meant to be enjoyed while walking around Paris. I felt the prices here were definitely great and comparable to a good coffee shop in the States. What it lacks in size it makes up in character (some good things do come in small packages). The decor is very cute made up of postcards and magazines on the walls. The star of the show is the great coffee with a warm service from the friendly baristas. When I visited the shop, the cakes and other pastries were made by Emperor Norton. Very good. read more

Boot Café is the teensiest, tiniest and possibly cutest café I have ever had the privilege of going into. Not to mention that it is housed in an old cobbler's shop, hence the name. How cool is that? This place is literally so small but very home-y. To note: it was also VERY warm inside I presume from all the bodies inside. It is mid April do cannot imaginr its comfortable to sit or stand there another time of year. Barista working was kind and efficient. People were lined out the door and there is only so much he can do running the whole show. I got the banana bread and also the other one (cannot remember name of it) and preferred banana which was amazing by the way- you could see the little mushed up parts of banana which I loved. Whenever we travel, we make a point to track down the best coffee spots in the area - particularly those that know what they are doing when it comes to espresso. Boot café won us over, heart and soul, so much so that we went twice during our short week in Paris. The decor looks like how your super trendy friend who lives in a studio loft might decorate their place - interesting books and magazines crowded onto shelves and surrounded by quirky knick knacks. There are a total of three tables inside and a small ledge outside, so go by yourself or with a max of one other person. The tiny space the operate out of certainly adds to the character. Their food options are limited, but both times we went we ordered the scones and were not disappointed - they were dreamy. Hope to one day make it back to this lovely corner of Paris. read more

By far the smallest coffee shop I've ever been to but don't let that discourage you! It's super cute inside, baristas are awesome, great music, and best of all - the coffee is delicious. Boot Cafe was an excellent stop in our tour of Le Marais. The espresso we shared was fastidiously crafted, and it tasted unlike any I'd had before. It was truly a complex drink, as snobby as that sounds. I appreciated the craftsmanship that went into it. My only complaint, perhaps, is that it was frequented by people looking for lengthy photo sessions and not so much a good espresso. read more

Love this cafe! Tucked away in Le Marais, this cozy little coffee shop serves the most amazing cappuccino. Even though it tightly seats about two tables, there's so much personality - the walls, the decor and the energy from the baristas/owners. Cute little coffee joint that you will miss with a blink of an eye. Yes, it's that small! Inside seats available for max 6-7 pax and there's a couple of chairs to sit by the walkway. Cute! What an absolutely adorable little café. The smallest in Paris. My daughter and I had a couple of japanese sandwiches and a couple of cortados. Cortado is still not on the coffee menus everywhere, but here they were perfectly made and on deliciously fresh grained beans. So we took an extra and had a nice chat with the lady that served us. Are you a fan of all things miniature? If so, you should visit Boot. It's an itsy bitsy coffee shop that is just darling. Smaller than most closets, Boot could seat one or two customers at the most. They offer take away, too, though. You'll want to hold this place in the palm of your hand. There was a bit of a wait when we went, as there was only one barista who was making all the drinks, but it was definitely worth the wait. That cortado and that warm cranberry scone with jam ... I'll be dreaming about it. The only downside to the place is also part of its charm -- this little cafe is tiny! There are only three tables inside (with two of them seating only two people), so it may be better as a grab-and-go type of place. Luckily, my husband and I were able to grab a seat and enjoy the cute interior. :) Struggled with whether or not to give this place a 5, but will dock it one star for its size (although it is definitely a 5 for its coffee!). read more

Very very very good. Finding good coffee in Paris is tricky but Boot has it nailed. Excellent coffee, cute breakfasts, great snacks and service so charming you never want to leave. This is an intimate space, you'll make friends and share the few tiny tables. Set in the cooler end of Le Marais, Boot is authentically hipster, with a ramshackle yet minimal design. Tiny little charming cafe in the wall. I believe it is called "boot cafe" because of the quote on the wall, "this coffee is made for walking" which is an allusion to the limited seating space.
