They stock all of the basics as well as having a whole aisle devoted to haircare - covering brands from Wash and Go, Aussie, Tresemme and Head and Shoulders to James Brown and Sami. Their vitamin section is comprehensive, men are well catered for and the makeup is relatively good - no bigger Superdrug brands like MeMeMe, but they have GOSH, Miss Sporty and New York Colour as well as Maybelline, Loreal, Rimmel and the like. There are a few perfumes behind the counter, but most lack testers and the selection is more commercial - you can get the cheaper and more widely advertised Diesel, J-Lo, DKNY and Paco Rabanne scents, but not Marc Jacobs, Dior or Nina Ricci. There's also a small sweets and dieting foods section, with a chiller; they stock Powerade and Skinny Water amongst others. I find that I use Superdrug more for makeup and more niche products I can't get in Boots, especially as products are more expensive and their loyalty card doesn't offer nearly as good rewards as the Advantage card. It is, however, a nice place to shop and I'd probably go in more often if I got more points for my purchases.

Situated at the bottom of market street they are easy to miss, but once inside you will be glad you didn't! they have fantastic range of health and beauty products. They also stock baby toiletries and home goods like washing up liquid and kitchen towel. They sell chocolate, crisps and drinks. The aisles are wide and well laid out. They have 3 tills and sell stamps and mobile top ups from here. Behind these tills are an extensive perfume range that is very competitive. I have been known to come out here laden with shopping bags and you must regularly check for their weekly offers.

I have to say though: The meal deal selection in this store is pretty poor and this is one of my favourite things about boots:the £2.99 meal deal, consisting of a sandwich/salad, snack and drink. The refrigerator section in this store just doesn't cut it and only has a small variety of sandwiches and snack whereas the bigger chains have much more adventurous sandwiches. The chilled food section also seems to be empty after midday and so the stock is obviously not enough to meet demand. The staff, i have to say are really nice and friendly and are all women. It can get quite busy in there, especially around the pharmacy section, but the rest of the shop is usually easy to get around. I would say the majority of the products in this shop are for women and there is a whole make up / perfume counter.

In terms of over the counter medicines they are well stocked and gain the staff are very happy to help and advise. There are other items available such as toiletries, medical acessories and baby accessories. They no longer carry cosmetics. There is a small selection fo perfumes and any gift sections ebb and flow. The shelves are often bare in places which make the place look as if its closing down when it isn't! There is a photo print machine on site. It is also a helpful place for pet owners with their vet medic service - you can buy and order in a wide selection of animal medicines and specialist foods often cheaper than at vet surgeries.

To be honest, Superdrug is the 'cheaper' version of Boots. I don't expect good customer service if I'm going in to save money & I certainly don't receive it. However, with a great product selection & a well laid out shop- I thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The only thing that would make it better would be a loyalty points scheme similar to what Boots offer. Lets hope we get this soon Superdrug!

The layout of the store is very simple and straightforward, and everything is clearly signed so you can easily find what you're looking for. They stock most of the well known toiletries brands, and I have also bought some of Superdrug's own range of products before and been very pleased. Less expensive than Boots, but in my opinion the quality is just as good, so why pay more than you need to?
