Wow! Where to start? Thanks Yelp for putting this place in the top of the list for Dive Bars in Fort Pierce. It's tucked in the back of a liquor store plaza just a few feet off of Route 1. Parking lot had a fair amount of cars for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. Walking in, it smells like a bar from the 80s. Beer and cigarette smoke. Not a fan of cigarettes but in the Dive Bar category, that's a staple. Friendly bartender greeted us and set me up with an ice cold PBR and a Bud Light for my wife. (Always order cans and bottles at these places). Amazing cast of regulars having fun convos and chatting us up as well. There was some kind of unofficial buffet (not sure if we crashed a party). We didn't eat but I don't think anyone would question if we did. Wild decorations and despite the dive vibe, we felt very safe and welcome. Only stayed for two drinks. Off street parking. Probably NOT kid friendly. Plan on leaving with a Smokey scent to your clothes. Will definitely return on future trips. read more

Ahh, The Boozg! She is the bar matron to so many other dive bars in the area. Many have come and gone (Duke's Fundrinkery, The Carousel, etc) but The Boozg has stamped its mark on Ft Pierce. Checked it out after being away for nearly 40 years and not too much has changed. The wooden shelves are gone and, thankfully, so is the carpet. But the yellow nicotine has left an indelible coating on the nostalgia. It's seems antithetical to award more than two stars for a dive bar but... What about the cheap drinks? Or the friendly bartender? Or the leave ya' alone customers? We laughed when ordering an old fashioned and the barkeep struggled to remember how to make one! A real "local" place that caters to the "boozgeois" more so than the bourgeois. Boozgeois is located on US-1 in the part of Ft. Pierce populated mostly by strip malls. The clientele here varies widely, but expect to hear more country music on the jukebox than anything else. The place is popular, from what I can tell. True to its name, Boozgeois offers a lot of different beverage choices. Their beer menu is impressive, but don't expect the bartenders to be knowledgeable about the selection; to quote our server, "I know shit about those beers." Pricey for what I'd expect to pay in Fort Pierce. This place is still better than other options in that it's actually open. Fellow members of the bourgeoisie, consider yourselves warned. read more

I've been coming here for a few months now. Just moved here from Philadelphia. Well I came in tonight with a friend who decided to make up for some things he did wrong to me and buy me some drinks. He decided to be inappropriate and make me look bad instead. Well this friend, gabe, decided to leave early after we had some drinks. I said that's fine as my boyfriend, whom I normally come in with, had come in a few hours before. Well as Gabe was making his way out, I ordered a gin and tonic on my boyfriend's tab whom I had asked before hand if I could get. Eric decided to assume some pretty inappropriate things and said no, show me the cash and then you get the drink, that's fucked up to order a drink on another guy's tab etc. Eric has known me and my boyfriend for awhile now. He knew I wasn't just some stranger etc. Ordering on a guy's tab. Well he came back and said I don't care what looks you give me etc as I was beyond shocked and it showed. He then said you know what? Take a walk. Get out. I don't fucking like you. So I left. No scene made. My boyfriend came out and said he'd try to explain to Eric what happened. Eric also assumed my boyfriend was upset about things etc because I was there with someone I thought was my friend. So when my boyfriend went in, eric was calling me a whore among other things. So he asked for his card back and said my girlfriend is waiting for me. Eric said good, let her learn lesson and walked away. He then said i don't want that whore back in my bar etc. he came back and my boyfriend once again said I want my card back. He gave it back but needless to say me and my boyfriend won't be coming back. Tegan and jake will not be back. Beyond rude behavior from a bartender I've seen take shots and drink with patrons while on the job. Learn to be professional and not make assumptions about people you hardly know. read more
