I've driven by this colorful establishment SO many times over the years, but somehow my husband and I had never actually gone inside. This Saturday afternoon, I was taking my 16-year-old nephew on a little restaurant-hopping adventure, where we're trying places I've never been before and tasting a few appetizers along the way, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to finally stop in. There's plenty of parking, and you definitely won't miss this place while driving by. I had been told it was kind of a biker bar, but it was pretty empty when we arrived, so we didn't really get to experience that side of it. When you walk in, there's SO much to look at--colorful signs, pirate and mermaid statues, decorations everywhere, and tons of seating options both inside and outside. We decided to sit outside near the giant tree under a covered table. It was definitely hot and humid that afternoon, though! When we first arrived, I went to the bar and asked if we could sit anywhere or if there was a hostess stand. I was told to just find anywhere we wanted to sit, so that's what we did. It wasn't very busy, although I wasn't really paying attention to how many employees were working that day. There was another table across from us, and when a waitress came over to help them, she looked at us and basically said, in a pretty snarky tone, "I guess I'll go get you menus too." She definitely did NOT seem like she was in a good mood. Thankfully, we ended up getting a different waitress, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was super friendly, helpful, and from New Jersey, so we had a nice little conversation with her. As for us, we were pretty simple. My nephew ordered a sweet tea, I grabbed a beer, and we shared some jalapeño poppers. We hung out for a while, enjoyed our drinks and snack, and then headed off to our next stop. We weren't difficult customers at all--we were literally just looking for a quick snack, a refreshing drink, and then onto the next place. Despite the slightly awkward start with the first waitress, I'd definitely come back. Great service and atmosphere at this great-vibes beach place. We love the colorful tables and tons of outdoor decor throughout. We ordered the mahi bowl, shrimp bowl, and mahi Rubin. The Rubin had a healthy portion of blackened fish and it was served with all of the traditional Rubin fixings on marble rye. The bowls were equally delicious with hefty servings of protein. This was a great lunch! We decided stop and were able to get a great seat at the bar, our bartender was very helpful. We had delicious cocktails, called take the pain away (pain killer vibes) so tasty, and tiki-ish I also had amazing tuna and mussels, and I was lucky to sample the wings and mexi fries my sister and mom got! Stopped here because we read how iconic it is to the area. I ordered the beef nachos, which came with processed cheese, ground beef, chopped iceberg lettuce, and diced tomatoes on top. The portion was big, but I felt it could be improved with freshness such as real cheese. It was pretty basic and something you would get from a make your own nacho stand. The sour cream and jalapenos were extra charge and it came out as a single packet of sour cream and pickled jalapenos in a container. I hadn't had nachos in a while, so I gave them a try--they were filling and nothing memorable. We didnt have any adult beverages so we can't comment on them. My wife ordered the chicken tenders tossed in hot sauce, but they were drowned in it, and she couldn't finish the last two. She also ordered a Caesar salad, but what came out was really a house salad--onions, tomatoes, and no croutons. Definitely not a Caesar. The food overall was just okay, but the service was amazing. The servers were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. This definitely looked and felt like a drinking and fun spot to hang out after the day at the beach. The service was the only reason this was a 3 instead of lower. Definitely a drinking spot and fun place to people watch. Still a great spot to checkout because of the friendliness and service. They did have an extensive menu as well. I probably didn't get their best table fare. Another thing I noted in this area -- credit card fees are added to the bill. While the charge is disclosed, I personally feel businesses should absorb this cost rather than pass it on to customers. Credit card companies have charged merchants these fees since credit cards were first introduced, and in most industries outside of food service, merchants don't pass them along to the customer. We're from Melbourne, Fl area and maybe one spot that I used to eat did this so I stopped going there. In town for a staycation. We love beachside, oceanside, and all the seafood we can eat. We were excited to be here and we're blown away by the beautiful views and fun atmosphere of Archie's. Fantastic venue - a must see. The food was great. The service from our waiter was unfortunately very rough. No happy greeting or kindness throughout our interactions. Almost felt like he hated us or hated life. This part is important bc it does bring down the entire experience. We have come to this location several times while in the area and always have good experience with the food and service. I love the beachy and casual vibes it has and the food is seasoned and delicious. On our last visit we had a variety of shrimp , mussels and a mahi sandwich. Ok so let's start with one word MARGARITA!!! Chris was our server and he makes the best Margaritas EVER!!! He made us a jalapeño margarita that I just couldn't get enough of!!! Now when it came to service he was top notch!!! We sat outside and dined under the trees in their outdoor dining area which was sooo cool and has so many things to do!!! Had dinner Saturday night - ordered Mahi Basket dinner - the dinner was served on a huge tray with two small pieces of Mahi with a bag of chips- wish I had taken a photo - the presentation was awful and the dinner was not worth the price I paid. The server was ok but disappeared at times for several minutes. I'm a visitor to the area so I will not be a frequent patron. This is my second time here and the first time around I was not impressed . So, I don't know why I let My husband convince me to come back here. We sat at a super dirty table with bird or frog poop. Our waitress brought us water, and didn't bother to even hint at cleaning the table. So, naturally we asked could you wipe off the table and she was like, maybe move to another table so You're more comfortable. Okay?? We ordered a bowl with rice beans and chicken for my son, and my husband had the chicken wings. The rice and beans tasted like it was straight out of a box and can. No seasoning whatsoever. The chicken was grilled to the point my son thought it has bones in it. Meaning one side was super "crispy ". Atmosphere gets a 5, service gets a 3 and food is a 2. This would best be described as a dive, but it has a fun beachy vibe. You almost feel transported to the Caribbean when dining here. When we visited, it was "seat yourself" and staff shrugged when we asked about where to sit as a large party. We ended up dividing ourselves among 2 tables and added some chairs that were stacked along the perimeter. The drinks were great, I had a couple pina coladas and felt like I was on vacation. Food was meh. I will say the fried pickles were a star; they are made with sweet pickles and provide a different take on the usually sour dish. I'd suggest skipping the guacamole. A bit pricey for a tiny serving and it tasted like the pre-made guac you get at the grocery store. It was also served with thick, dense, cheap chips. I got the coconut shrimp appetizer with a side of onions rings. So delicious! The sauce for the onion rings was really good. My advice to the owner of this place is LET GO OF YOUR STAFF!!! Specially the bartender Hire new people that wants and needs a job. I've been going to this place for years with family, my boyfriend was in town so we figured we would stop by for lunch and some beer and when we got our appetizer (the grilled scallops) when they came out they just looked like gelatin and had red dye on them from the paper they served them on when we asked to order another appetizer instead and to take them off the order the manager CHRIS said "well I can't take it off just because you don't like them" when it was clear as day they didn't look edible nor should they have been served with red dye all over them from the paper they were served on, we won't be coming back with the family anymore. This is what you look for in a beach bar with out a view of the ocean: a bit quirky, eat outside or in, great beach bar food, and great staff. Stay outside and enjoy the weather and views. Oh yeah, plenty of shade too. I got the 1/2 lb peel and eat shrimp, the crunchy Swai fish sandwich w/ chips, and my son got the blackened Mahi-mahi with fries. It hit the spot. We split the sandwiches for variety, and a bucket of suds. Delicious on all counts. I am soo very disappointed with my last three visits here. The table was sticky and disgusting. Waitresses became rude, took over an hour to be served food, quality has become poor. I usually came here twice a week for the past year and always tipped 50% or more of my bill either to the bartenders or waitress. Going downhill fast. The last visit Erica told us good luck, no she couldn't serve us, and fend for yourself when I asked if we can get service at a table. The time before that Todd an Chris were so slammed I waited patiently for 38 minutes to order drinks at the bar to take to our table. On our bill of $75 I tipped them $50. Tonight we had a friendly waitresss, she worked hard I could tell, and could see she was overwhelmed. Our food came out half cooked and very late. I would have ordered more drinks but never had the chance. I absolutely loved the times I met Patty and her whole concept of the restuarant she started here, which makes me more sad as I was happy to support her business. I have not seen here around at night so not sure she knows what is going on. The last straw was tonight being sooo slow over an hour for food to come out and as we ordered dessert to go. Pretty sure it is a health violation as we received key lime pie with fish juice all over it. Opened the pie and the smell alone was gross, the liquid fish juice that poured out of the container of the pie was even worse. Shame on the kitchen for storing food this way. read more

Stopped by when it was chilly and not busy at all. They have tons of space! Ready for a big crowd! I Have to say the bartender we had made horrible drinks. He doesn't even drink himself... so how can he know what a good drink is?? They were expensive and not good at all. I tried the Cadillac Margarita and their version of a pain killer. Neither tasted remotely like the drinks that we know and love. Did I mention the price? Exorbitant! You can stop by Little Jim's Bait and Tackle for an excellent (strong) drink for half the price.
