I spoke with another of his customers after losing my deposit and they said he completed a single job after many excuses for not showing up at agreed upon times, didn't have the proper tools and needed to borrow necessary items to complete the job, didn't properly invoice the work he did and then never showed up again. I signed a contract with Ryan on October 19, 2025 after several conversations regarding my need for communication about when he'd show up. He showed up for the first meeting to assess the job with his "wife" in the truck. I was told that he had his HIC license, was insured, etc (he didn't actually get insurance until 10/25/25 AFTER we signed the contract. I know this because I have the screenshot of the liability insurance with the policy number on it). Ryan and I agreed to a start date of November 12, 2025. At 10:21 am Ryan texted that he had to pick his sick son up from school claiming that his wife would take over so that he could come to work. By 2:47 pm I heard nothing from him so I called him to establish that he would arrive before 9 am on November 13, 2025 to begin work. I gave it until 12:23 pm with no call, no text or communication of any kind knowing that we had explicitly discussed the need for him as a business owner to NOT leave clients waiting on him for hours when they have jobs and lives too. I texted him to let him know that his lack of communication indicates that we cannot work together. I sent him a termination text and email. As of November 17, 2025, I have not received any communication from Ryan of RP and Sons Home Improvements to acknowledge receipt of the termination email, explain his absence, or discuss returning the deposit as is normal in the termination of a contract with no work rendered. This man showed up to my home within 20 minutes of me saying I had read over his proposal and was ready to provide a deposit but he couldn't be bothered to show up for an hour of work. BEWARE of this guy and his "business."
