So I wanted to share to help someone else find a good mechanic. They will not rip you off like a lot of those other places. Services that I have had so far: oil change, car check, tire rotation, new wheel bearings and some other stuff around this done, they have fixed my tire on another occasion and most recently helped me to secure something to my car for a fraction of the price another place was trying to charge me. You can't go wrong. Not to mention their waiting room is very comfy and has large cushioned seats while you wait. They also have a fair price on gas also. The owner of Ridge made an immediate good impression with me when he offered to pay for my car's release from an uncooperative auto shop where the car was being held (Craig's Auto). The shop owner was extremely friendly and dealt with me personally in every step of the process. He developed an estimate for me using after market parts in order to save money. It was entirely my choice as to whether to use after market or OEM parts. The owner provided me with an extremely reasonable estimate and offered me a 10 percent senior discount. I am a 27 year old graduate student. He offered me 10 percent off because he knew I didn't have a lot of money and he wanted to help with the costs. I was even more surprised when I went to meet him and he showed me my car. As a part of their free estimate, they completely dismantled the car in order to provide me with an accurate estimate. The estimate for the repairs was itemized, detailed, and more importantly precise. He charged me exactly what he had estimated for before the repairs began. Moreover, he never once tried to get me to spend more money on parts or repairs I didn't need. The work was done quickly and skillfully and the car looks and runs the same, if not better, than before. Ridge is honestly one of the best auto services I have ever dealt with. It is a relatively small family owed business, but that doesn't take away from the quality of their service. The people are friendly, they perform quality work in a timely manner, the work is guaranteed, and more important than anything else, they are honest. I understand charging for diagnostics, but the whole amount doesn't even apply to your balance If you decide to get your car repaired there. I went for what I thought would be simple part replacement but they turned it into a whole ordeal, adding three new issues which turned a $500 repair into a $2000 repair. I ended up taking it off Calhoun close to Martin Luther King Blvd. in the back where they fix cars there and they got the part for $500 and repaired it. Lastly, when I took my car there for the power steering repair, it still worked, but when I picked it up to leave, it stopped working completely as if they sabotage it because I didn't let them repair it. Never again.
