The midwives answered any questions I had and gave me all the information I needed to feel secure in my decisions, leaving me feel very empowered! I loved my births with Heritage and was sad at my 6 week appointments that I wouldn't get to come in for visits any more. The birth center feels so homey and the staff so friendly and welcoming. I will never have a baby anywhere else (unless medically needed of course!) I didn't just have a baby, I grew as a woman and learned to believe in myself as a woman and a mother.

Don't bother asking questions. They can't answer. All I received was endless "I'll have to research it and get back to you" answers without ever receiving an answer. They couldn't even manage to find my child's heartbeat muchless tell me what to do when I was in the beginning stages of miscarrying her twin that they had failed to notice was even there. And don't even get me started on their billing procedures. You might as well prepare for out of pocket bills because I got landed with a TON due to incorrect referrals and mistakes made by then during billing. I feel so insanely deceived. I chose this facility because it felt so much like a home and what I received was a nightmare and a miscarriage followed by months of agony. And did they even bother to follow up and see how I was doing?! Hell no. Smh. Not one single phone call. Btw ladies, next time someone is pregnant with twins and facing the possibility of miscarrying one, how about do your damn research and give that mama the meds to stop it and then transfer her to a damn doctor?! The life of my child could have possible been saved if it weren't for your incompetence and cold hearted treatment of my situation.

When I got pregnant with my son in 2021 I wanted to transition out of the hospital modality into something more personal. Because of my "high risk" I was unable.to get a midwife to help me and my husband was not on board. With my following pregnancy everything changed. I found Haven amd Bethel , I felt seen and understood. Not just as a pregnant woman but for my lifestyle and my desires for care and birth.I loved my previous care provider but Bethel was like a freind who got it. Because of state law I had to have a home birth instead of birth center but it all worked out. To have a home birth was mindblowing. So peaceful, no rushing to the hospital, being separated from my family. Bethlehem and Laura were incredibly perfessional and so sweet. Especially being called out in the middle of the night. I felt safe and wouldnt change a thing. My following pregnancy was hard, complicated and so stressful. My son and I developed a rare condition that required me to be under the care of a specialist in Anchorage. Haven't continued to provide care as well in co operations with the specialist. Without this partnership I dont know how I would have made it through. Every test was discussed with Bethle and care was managed with her input. I had to have a hospital birth, induced and against the specialist recommendations (he advised a csection). Bethel came to the hospital and supported me through the whole induction and delivery. I did not want to do it and probably would not have if she hadn't agreed it was the best course of action and stayed with me. If I had to chose to have Bethel (or Laura) at my side for another birth or my husband.. id chose them hands down . Lol. No matter what pregnancy you have, uncomplicated or high risk I recommend these lady's. They will be straight with you. Find answers when they don't know, reach out for help when its beyond what they can provide if that is what's in your best interest. 100 the best.

Bethel took the time to answer all my questions with patience and clarity, making sure I felt confident and informed every step of the way. Their warmth and compassion made me feel truly loved and supported throughout my entire journey. They even offered me raspberry tea and a 24-hour stay with meals at the time of delivery, which made the experience even more comforting and special. Each visit was a testament to their dedication and expertise. I was able to utilize the placenta dehydration service with Asher, to ingest my placenta in the form of a pill. If you're looking for a midwifery practice that goes above and beyond to make you feel like family, Haven Midwifery and Birth Center is the place to go. They are exceptional in every way!

Though our birth plan ended far unlike any way we planned it, I cannot imagine going through that process without the help of this phenomenal team. They have a knowledge, passion, and respect for empowering and healthy community birth that is unparalleled. It meant so much to have their advocacy by my side each step of the way during times I felt I was at my worst. Having Barbara at the hospital to help navigate and communicate my needs with the nurses was so valuable. She truly cares for each client and supports them through this process. We only have positive things to rave about this birth center and their staff. Would wholly recommend choosing them for your birthing needs. We hope we are fortunate to cross paths with this talented team once again!

I received attentive, professional, respectful care throughout my pregnancy and always appreciated the friendliness of the entire staff when I would come in for visits. My toddler daughter loved to come to appointments with me to play with the great toys, visit with everyone, and learn about things like blood pressure and heart beats. It really is a very family-friendly experience throughout. When I went past my due date, I really appreciated the explanation of the process for making sure everything is okay, and of course the patient, non-pushy approach to due dates. This all put me at ease about being overdue. Four days after my due date, I went into labor in the morning and had a weird pattern of contractions accelerating and then slowing down, depending on what I was doing. I really appreciated how the midwives carefully assessed, based on my pain and the pattern of my contractions, etc. whether there was a physical cause for this, such as baby in a funny position, and then helped me think through options. Ultimately, they suggested something that turned out to be just what I needed -- attempting to rest, changing the environment so as to get out of my head. They understand that the brain is the most important organ in birthing. I had a very quick active labor after that. They trusted me to know when I needed to push, and gave me choices but offered really helpful suggestions to make pushing more effective. I felt so at peace with their help, which was neither too hands off nor too pushy. Baby came out crying, big, and healthy and they took good care of me and him in the hours afterwards. We had come up with a plan during my pregnancy to prevent hemorrhage and it was a relief to have that all put in place right away. Because I was able to talk through my concerns during prenatal visits and have my questions answered, and because I was encouraged to access high-quality birth support services, such as my doula, Jen Allison (who teaches classes at Geneva Woods Birth Center), and because of the well-earned reputation for evidence-based, safe, and compassionate care, I was able to labor and birth without fear, trusting that I would get the care I needed. And I did. Even though the labor had gotten off to my difficult start, I felt so powerful at the end. I'm truly grateful for this kind of quality of care. I am especially grateful not only have a healthy baby but also very straightforward recovery with no tears or episiotomies or forceps or anything else -- this prevention of tears I credit to Barbara telling me to wait and let baby's head stretch my perineum when I just wanted to push him out, and to all of the other experiential wisdom they employed on how to reduce the risk of tearing. I really do wish this kind of care for every pregnant and versing person.

I was a little late (not realizing that coming via Benson, that A street was one way going left, and I needed to turn right on it) however Kate was super sweet about that. She had checked my insurance benefits prior to my visit, and it's unfortunate that I'm with a very weird company through my husband's job. As it turned out, it was cheaper for me to pay for the device outright than go through insurance. But that is not the fault of Prodigy, and not much i can do about it. I checked in, and went into the room at the back for my "class" with three other students. 3 of us had the same device, another lady had something different to us, but Jim our instructor seemed to know every little thing about both devices, and went through everything with us. I was extremely anxious and nervous about the whole sleep study/CPAP machine, not knowing what to expect, or how it would feel when we try to sleep with it on, but at least this class gives us all the information we need to know regarding the equipment. During the class, Kate came in, and explained very comprehensively to the other students about their insurance coverage, and the requirements that you need to meet to have it covered. This didn't apply to me though. Once we had been taught how the machines worked, we were each individually fitted with the type of headgear called for in our prescription, and completed some paperwork. A thorough and well taught class. Questions were welcomed, both from Jim the instructor, and Kate on the front desk. I do feel as though I'd have no problem calling them if i were to need any additional help or instructions, and my visit was not nearly as bad as i had anticipated.

The midwives along with the rest of the staff was really warm and welcoming. The birthing center itself, was clean, it was bright, and the rooms were very comfortable and homy. I knew nothing about out of hospital births and though I was excited and very interested, I was nervous about the pain and care in case of an emergency. The midwives and the staff did an awesome job at educating me on out of hospital births versus hospital births and, needless to say, I transferred my care to One Family. My birthing experience went better than I could have imagined. I was able to move about as I pleased, I ate and drank whatever I wanted, the setting was calm and comfortable, people I didn't know weren't coming in and out of my room, and though they were with me the whole time, my midwives didn't bother me unless I needed them. That being said, if you are looking for a natural and empowering birth experience and would like to make your own birth choices, within reason, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to One Family Birth Center and checking it out yourself! It is a choice that I am glad I made.
