Dr. Smith was great. Listened to what I needed and provided a contact prescription upgrade addressing all I had going on. The exam rooms are clean, modern, and well kept. The staff are friendly, helpful, and pleasant to interact with. There were no high pressure sales tactics like you will sometimes suffer at the national "McVision" stores. The office is tastefully decorated and they have a significant selection of frames. I love the fact they are a local business and are invested in the community. They don't seem to have an in house optometry lab, but very few, if any, doctor's offices do. This means they order your glasses from a vendor and are beholden to that 3rd party company for timing, warranty, etc. one thing to bear in mind is that even for the best customer service companies, mistakes are going to happen. The real measure of an organization is how they handle the customer in difficult situations. Businesses should be evaluated on how they handle the problem and customers in difficult situations, not if a situation occurred. Over the years I have had several interactions with this business, and never have had any issues like what I did in Florida with a former optometrist. read more

Dr was fantastic. then I order a $1200 pair of prescription safety glasses that came with a one year warranty. When the glasses arrived over 3 weeks after ordering, I was told the warranty began the day I ordered. When I asked, why I was losing over three weeks of warranty, they blamed it on the prescription lab. I should have been made aware of this prior to ordering. read more

The eye doctor was great, but we had an inexperienced optician that made several mistakes in placing our glasses order. When my son's glasses arrived, they were a completely different frame from what was ordered. It was an obvious mistake because the glasses were way too big on my son. The company agreed to remake the glasses, however it would be an additional 2-3 weeks to get the new glasses back. My son needed his glasses for school so I requested they refund my order and we would go to another optical shop that could cut the lenses immediately. They refused and said the issue was that the insurance would not allow this. I called the insurance who had no problem fixing the issue, but Boering still refused stating it was their policy that sales are final and they do not issues refunds even when it is their mistake. They may have saved one sale with that policy, but they have lost all future glasses sales from our family. read more

Dr Boring & staff are GREAT! Everyone there are friendly & go out of there way to help. While doing exam he spotted something that required a specialist. By doing so he postponed my getting glasses 1 month. In today's world of "hurry up & close the deal" I was impressed. I will refer my friends to Dr.Boring. read more

I ordered a pair of glasses from Boring to replace a pair I thought I lost on a Friday. Found them Saturday so I called Borning to cancel them 8AM Monday. No way they would do it. Said lab is already processing it, which I doubt since it takes 2 weeks to get them. All sales are final which is unusual these days. We are talking $675. Same Rayban frames cost more than the actual Rayban sunglasses. Stay away it's a rip off. You can get your glasses made online just as good for a fraction of the cost. read more

I would not recommend Dr.Boreing to my worst enemy. I paid for glasses 2 months ago. The first set if lenses were completely incorrect due to him writing down my prescription for the lab incorrectly. The second set were completely blurry, and he claimed it was the labs mistake. When I asked for my money back he came unglued and told me I was being obnoxious and rude for asking. He refuses to give me a refund. He yelled at me for at least five minutes while I stood there shocked. I also witnessed him verbally abuse his staff. So unprofessional and scary. Beware!!! Terrible office staff, incapable of billing properly. The last thing you want to have to do is deal with the office manager. Hidden fees and only out for money. I guess someone has to pay for all their advertising fees. read more

First experience with Dr. Boreing was excellent. Waited less than 5 minutes. Staff was pleasant, professional and courteous. All staff from check in, insurance and technician were very knowledgeable. Dr. Boreing was first class, not rushed, explained everything. He could have prescribed new glasses but due to what he discovered as a potential eye problem he said it would be best to wait for new prescription and he and staff set up referral and appointment with an MD specializing in retinal surgery. During the COVID pandemic, I arrived and everything was as I was told it would be...call when I got there and somebody would come get me and I would be the only person in the lobby. After my exam, i was ushered into the fitting/viewing room for my glasses where 4 other people were trying on glasses. Most were wearing a mask in various manners with one woman even protecting her throat. I told the young lady that I wanted the same frames as I currently have. She stated that she didn't have them before even checking availability - she found them. She then made at least 3 trips to the office to verify different charges before she told me the final price and advised that it would be 2 weeks for my glasses to come in. The next day I got a phone call stating that a "co-pay" was overlooked and i now owed an additional $126 and that my glasses would come in 3-4 weeks. I asked for an itemized statement only to have my name misspelled and the wrong address!!! This was after all of my information was updated! Absolutely no customer service, you are just a number. Dr Boreing was the only positive part of my entire experience, unfortunately he isn't the one you deal with 90% of the time. I'll take my business else where!!! read more

Dr Boreing is always very nice, helpful and informative. The overall experience was great. When you pick out your glasses you are assigned someone to help you choose the right pair. They are very patient and know the inventory very well. Once you order your glasses they come in quickly and are fitted right there if some adjusting is needed. I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more
