My old 87' Volvo was looking a little bit rough - not surprising considering I work next to a cement company, rarely drive it, and had it stored in a nasty old Limehouse Produce warehouse for awhile. It's still my best friend so wanted to get it ready for summer, and since it's a car, and doesn't work out, and doesn't have a drinking problem like most of Charleston (it's a car, once again), the next best thing was to get it detailed by someone other than random car wash A or B. I found Octavius and made a reservation on-line - it was very easy, and he was responsive. For a minute, I got confused because I've been in Charleston for awhile now, and even if you are waiving business at a company, a lot of places around here are on "island time" so if you call or contact them on Monday, it could be anywhere from two days to months before they respond. And even two of the other folks I had initially contacted got back to me - 5 days after Octavius finished the job! Spoiler alert, start businesses here, it's super easy to out compete the incumbents just by being responsive. Anyway, back on point, Octavius came to my office and after a few hours, the car was looking about as new as an 87 Volvo can look. Might be good hearted, but left us with water spots and swirl marks sealed under ceramic coating. Paid in full plus " Taxes" for his highest service ( ceramic coating). Should have known when he " completed" detailing and ceramic coating by 3:00 pm. Sad is that he demanded getting paid immediately despite the fact that I was still at work. I asked to lay eyes on the job before I paid. Now I wish I never looked. To the question are these water spots and swirl marks on my hood, now SEALED with ceramic, he replied, YES, ‍, anymore and I would have to wet sand it. Water spots, as in the car was dried in the sun leaving water marks and then coated with graphene making these permanent spots. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm sure he is great person, I do not know about his business manners or his knowledge beyond cleaning a car. read more

I decided to surprise my wife with a professional detailing for her dogmobile so I looked up best retailers in Charleston and born again was right near the top. I found out today why that is because Octavius came out and made that hairy suv look like it just rolled off of the lot. I had a weird situation on short notice and Octavius came through for me big time. I'm in the process of having my 1988 BMW 325i refurbished. I was in process of having the seats reupholstered and the convertible top re-done at Westside Upholstery. I needed someone to come out and clean the carpets while the seats were out of the car. I didn't want the rest of the car done yet because it's still being worked on. I had initially got some quotes through the Yelp request a quote feature before I brought my car into Westside, but it took longer to get the parts needed so we had to hold off on the job. By the time they were ready for me, nobody had availability in their schedule because of all the rain we'd recently had. I called BAMD and they happened to have a cancellation for the next morning... perfect. I scheduled and paid for the job over the phone since I wouldn't be at the shop. I gave Octavius all the details and he took care of the job for $70. The process was very simple on my end and when I went to pick up the car, the carpets looked as good as they could considering how old and dirty they were. I do wish that he had taken a moment to clean the floor mats as well... at least a good rinse, but we never discussed that and the guy doing the interior work thought I was tossing them. I did end up buying new ones (e46 model ones are a very close fit) because the back of them was deteriorating and would then make the carpets filthy again. They don't make them anymore and those specific ones are worth a fortune online, maybe I can clean them up myself to try and re-coop some of the fortunes I've spent on this refurb. read more

My 10 year old car desperately needed a good cleaning, especially the light tan cloth seats. It was getting to the point where I was truly embarrassed to have anyone ride in my car. After checking a few reviews on Yelp and contacting detailing companies for quotes, I felt confident that BAMD would be a great choice at a fair price and I was right! I scheduled an appointment with Octavius who was extremely friendly and helpful from the first phone call. I was a little nervous about mobile detailing because I live in a condo community without hose access but luckily BAMD has portable water tanks so they don't require a hose hookup! It took about 4 hours for Octavius to steam clean and detail my interior and give a great shine to the exterior (my rims and wheels look amazing). I'm thrilled with the results and with the convenience of BAMD coming to me, I didn't have to worry about rearranging my schedule. I'm disappointed that you decided to use a power washer on the RV roof, after I asked you three times not to use a power washer on the roof. I'm also disappointed you decided to not complete the RV wash/wax. The fact that this also was the third rescheduling is also disappointing. I would think making the reservation a year in advance would allow you time to to meet your commitments. I would not recommend this company. read more

Service is completely mobile and self supported right down to generating his own electricity. Octavius, the owner, has been detailing for over ten years. We had a discussion about how the leather seats should be treated. Car is fairly new with vented seats, so I didn't want to put any treatment on them. He stated that left untreated it would eventually dry out and crack. He asked about my specific concerns and recommended a treatment that would protect but not be shiny or affect the the ventilation.
