I needed help to get out of charges. The cops told me if I blame it on on someone else, they will release me. So I did, and then the cops still arrested me! And then the cops even told my friend that I blamed it all on him! The police were so unprofessional! And I was having a bipolar meltdown and the police intimidated me into confessing to national crimes, which I didn't even know about. My husband was referred to B&A through the NYC's Bar Association's Lawyers Referral Service for a labor-related issue. Unfortunately, our experience during the initial phone consultation was very disappointing. The assigned attorney dismissed two significant concerns that other 2 lawyers have identified as a breach of Employment contract /non-compliance employment terms. When my husband offered to provide documentation for clarity, the lawyer said that reviewing the materials would require a $3,000 retainer, from which hours would be deducted even before deciding whether to take the case. He was more concerned about fees than reviewing the details of the case. Not sure whether the attorney lacked experience in labor law or simply didn't take the time to consider the facts . Either way, we left the consultation without serious guidance or confidence in the firm's ability to represent clients. She spoke in a condescending manner and proved to me that my business is not valuable to the law firm. After explaining my very valid case, she gave me a 50/50 answer with no clear indication of what she thinks. Gave them a $10,000 deposit, was charged an extra $14,000 and counting for "services" rendered and I say that lightly, but they stopped representation. My original attorney left the firm and I was eve notified until I asked for an update. I'm still no closer to going back to my job. I Should've read the Google reviews before I hired them. Now I'm taking them to mediation. I Refuse to pay you another dime. You guys didn't do anything but charge for conversations, a few emails to the other party and a retracted case. For $5,000 my new attorney has filed an article 78 and done more work than your firm has. My review is based on facts. The amount of money you charged is ludicrous. They will take your retainer for sure AVOID any legal consultation with the company. I contacted B&A P.L.L.C., regarding the situation I experienced in the company I work for. Promptly scheduled the meeting to see if my discrimination at work, humiliation at wok place, diminishing and discrediting my intelligence based on my nationality, hostility and targeting based on my origins and threatening at work place, is something worth to report. After 2 discussion with the attorney, I was advise that there is the case and I need to put retainer in amount of $2500. I decided to proceed with retainer, because of fear for my work. After i paid retainer, I did not hear back from attorney for 2 months. Finally I reach out back and they said, I was assigned with another attorney and they were working on my case. I received from new attorney a bill in approximately $400 for the letter they sent to my employer. After two weeks, attorney contacted me and said that if I want to proceed I need to pay additional $10,000.00 for the legal fees to sue the company. At that time I realized that B&A P.L.L.C. was misled me whole case and at that point did not have money to continue and I lost close to $3000.00. The worst part in all of that, I find out that my 5 other coworkers made a settlement through other attorney offices and they did not pay a dime out of pocket upfront. The whole game of B&A P.L.L.C., with my case, was to collect close to $3,000.00 and tell me I need to pay additional $10K. I was left without money and legal protection and uncertainty for my future. The firm supposedly has good reputation but I had pretty bad experience. First consultation was pretty abrasive and quote for retainer given based on very preliminary information. Not to mention 1 hour delay to our appointment. I asked for a second consultation with Pooja to see if we can resolve our differences after her being impatient with me the first time around. Once I arrived, she was 45 minutes late and when I asked to change attorneys I was first advised it's a possibility but then received a follow up call saying the firm won't help me. Very strange and unprofessional firm. Replied to my case on Legal.com. Called me after I emailed them THREE TIMES not to call but instead to contact me via email. I called THEM a few times, told the receptionist to tell this Jean/Jane (depends on when you ask who the person is) person not to call but to email. Not two hours later she calls AGAIN. Interestingly, the "receptionist" claimed they did not have voicemail. A few hours later, I called and - surprise! - they have voicemail. Needless to say I did not even get to consultation stage as I told them in my VM not to bother as I refused to deal with such unprofessional, disorganized people. Borelli and associates offered me afree consultation years ago on a matter concerning the NYC DOE, and I had been completely misled from the beginning. They had no clue how to properly advise me and I had to shell out $100 for a 2nd consultation. When I was finally ready, the 3rd consultation was $250 and the rude paraprofessional questioned what I was told by Leon, a former lawyer at the practice. I was advised to search for another lawyer and I did. I went to Pardalis and Nohavikca in Astoria, far superior and knowledgeable lawyers when dealing with problems with the NYC Department of Ed. They took my updated situation and steered me in the right direction for free, meanwhile I probably would have ended up paying 250 just to hear the same thing! Moving forward, I am dropping borelli and associates as per advice from friends, family, and my own gut. They do not care, and I never even got to meet borelli! I must agree with the other comments. Borelli and Associates is a completely useless firm. I was fired from my job on Broadway due to union activity. I was harassed by the employer, sent my W2 after April 15, was denied overtime pay, received a death threat which is on file with the FBI and was arrested for calling in my availability as an at-will employee. Borelli lead me on for months, then suddenly dropped me. It was a horrible and degrading experience and I was victimized twice. Borelli and Associates are indeed clowns with an impressive office that want nothing more to suck money from you, and then leave you hanging. Shameful! read more

Once they were contacted by opposing counsel Saul Zabell within one week of hiring Borrelli, they told me Zabell doesn't negotiate and they were unwilling to see this case through.I didn't understand and only then did they point out the retainer was to send a ITS letter and negotiate.If I wanted to proceed I would have to pay $10,000 additional to file a claim with the State and Federal governments.Stay clear away from this firm, they are deceitful by omission.Go to Saul Zabell for a good attorney. Do Not! Do Not use this law firm if you are an NYC employee. I read a bad review on Avvo after hiring this firm and they sabotaged my case by with holding my evidence and refusing my numerous requests to present it ( They said they knew best as the attorneys). I contacted the previous reviewer who said they had also sabotaged his case only to find out we both worked for the same city agency and he was taking them to court. When I did my consultation it was with Coleman whom I thought would handle my case, but after receiving my money they gave my case to a new attorney named Russell Platzik in their office who is an ex-in house staff attorney for the agency I hired them to represent me against. You would think his knowledge of his and my former employer would be invaluable, but he refused to present my evidence to them, even though he said he had an identical case with similar evidence when he worked for them which settled immediately. Needless to say I lost every hearing and investigation. Once I fired this firm, hired another, made it known that I had evidence and filed my case in court, hearing decisions against me got reversed. There is a very small clause at the end of their contract, next to the clause saying you agree to go to arbitration if you have a dispute with this firm that must have been added within the past two years ( since the last negative review was written). This clause prohibits you from going public if you disagree with a major part of their contract after seeing how they perform their services. If you publicize it you automatically lose in arbitration (this is a sneaky way to stop people from posting negative reviews, so their ratings look great!!! I too will file a complaint with the NY Bar Assoc. and the ethics review committee. read more
