To paraphrase Full Metal Jacket and the US Marine Corp, " This is my Boston Pizza. There are many like it, but this one is mine." Now, I don't mean "mine" in a loving way so much as a "bound by geography and circumstances" sort of way. This is the closest location for trivia that my father-in-law and I and our merry band of triviators can go to, so here we are. Like all Boston Pizzas, the lounge/sports bar is on the right, and restaurant on the left. We post up in the sports bar area, naturally, as suburban families having happy birthday sung to them by staff (yup, that happens here) don't want trivia shenanigans going on during their meal. Which is fair. In the past, my teammates have had frequent mix ups with their orders. It isn't particularly surprising since I doubt BP or any of its ilk employs many graduates of culinary programs, but at least the friendly front of house staff always makes amends.   I've tried several different appetizers here, as generally I'm coming after dinner and/or am pretty uninterested in their entrees. I'll go through my accrued notes with the same cold efficiency of an oversized, chain restaurant menu, but with fewer pictures.  Salt and pepper dry ribs - these bite-sized ribs had a nice and crisp exterior from the deep fryer, but what little meat that was on them was still moist. Even with my deeply unhealthy love of salt, they were way over seasoned though.  Garlic pizza fingers - I don't know why BP doesn't just call them garlic fingers like everyboday else, but sure. They had a decent flavour and came with the generic donair sauce that's a bit sweet for my preference, and bread was too thick. OK in a pinch, but far from the upper echelons of G-finger greatness. Nachos - (a teammates, I wasn't touching this dumpster fire) - they put shredded lettuce on top, so that says it all. F'ing lettuce. One time they didn't even shred it properly, so there was long strips of wilted romaine on top. Cheese coverage and layering looks to be very poor. They do give you a ton of sour cream, but it's so much that they should just give less of that and more of the actual toppings and cheese. Plus it's indicative of bad management in the kitchen; that stuff isn't cheap and is going to waste en masse.  Wings - BP has four options for types of wings: boneless, untreated, breaded and oven-roasted, as well as eight ways to coat/season them. I had to go breaded, and went with the salt and pepper dry rub to get a feel for their wings, free of cloying sauces that doubtlessly come out of obscenely large plastic containers. There's a reasonable amount of wings in an order, and the wings are a good size. I enjoyed the simple salt and pepper dusting - I'm old enough that I'm not getting in pissing contests over wing hotness. Breading was crispy. A very solid wing! Spinach and artichoke dip - not as big a serving as at most bars or restaurants, comingin a 5" x 5", shallow dish. Triangles of a BP's Pizza Bread were the dipping implement. The dip was alright, nothing to write home about or to suggest to my dip aficionado wife, and the bread was a bit sparse. The beer menu is disappointing because it's all Molson branded products, so nothing local, which is a lost opportunity by the franchisee, although they may have their hands tied by corporate contracts.       Service is consistently really good, especially since we're regulars. Our usual waitress that seems to work Thursdays will bring the guys their usual beer, and make things right whenever the kitchen botches an order. They're the only reason this isn't a two star. They also win some good will back as you don't need a password for the wifi here.  This is my Boston Pizza, and there are many types of restaurants like it. If it were a rifle, it would be the fabled M16 - produced en masse and frequent misfires when not in ideal conditions. read more

I've never had good food here..ever. had a terrible experience with nachos and everything on their menu is tasteless and bland. I hate when people want to meet up here because I know it'll be a scrappy experience every time. The service is irrelevant, food is so bad they should start from complete scratch. I love their cheesecake and usually their noodles and pizza are good, but this time I ordered pickup for Alfredo noodles and the noodles were sticky with barely any sauce on them to the point I had to add my own sauce for them to taste good, hopefully the next time goes better. read more

Boston Pizza, that is all I have to say, and the moods change, smiles appear and it seems all worries are gone. What can I say, yes it is a little expensive and some might say it is the Big Box Store , But, hey, they make a good pie! We get: large, black olives, feta cheese (put on top) to make sure it roasts , pepperoni (on top, to be crisp) and mushrooms. It is always crisp bottom, and the cheese oozes with flavor and pulls apart in those long strings as you are taking a bite. We do splurge and get the garlic , 3 cheese bread as well. Yes I know , the arteries are yelling. But it is a great treat. The restaurants have two sides, one sports bar side and one restaurant side. We have gone and had to wait for a table, so it can get busy. It is a nice way to end a busy day of shopping. read more

Reallllllly bad service. Second time we have been here this summer and had the same very poor service. Basic bland food. Nothing at all special. Only here because we had a gift certificate. Don't expect anything out of the wait staff. Refills will never come. They will not check in to see how things are going. I have to say that I may be a little biased on this location as I was a server here when it opened in 2005. (haven't worked here since 2008) That being said, I have been to many many BP locations over the years and still love the service at this location. Most of the original crew are gone, though there are a few who keep coming back time and again. The lounge always feels welcoming and the hosts are always super friendly. BP on its own is a bit pricey and the meals are a bit large (but work for the price you pay) and you can get the same meal here in Lower Sackville as well as in Moncton, NB. Can't go wrong for traveling and enjoying BP's across Canada (special note though, they do have region specific mens. ie: the summer lobster roll is atlantic specific only!). My faves have to be the nachos (for their in house hand cut tri colored nacho chips, add bacon! little added bonus a lot of people don't think of), the thai bites (fried chicken tossed in a slightly spicy tangy sauce served over crunch asian noodles, shredded carrot and green onion), the tuscan pizza (sun dried tomatoes, feta and mozza cheese, pomodoro sauce, roasted garlic, spicy chicken i get mine regular)and last but not least just simple penne pomodoro (pomodoro sauce is fire roasted tomatoes, roasted garlic, olive oil and parm. sweet and delicious!) of all the things about any Boston pizza i have to say they have fantastic pizza. it's gourmet and better than Jesey's down the street. It's pricier than most of the local pizza joints in Sackville, lets face it there are a LOT of pizza joints in Sackville, but it's worth the extra dough (sorry... bad pun). It's hand made every day and goes through a 3+ hour mixing and rising and resting schedule before it's even loaded with awesome ingredients. Even if i NEVER worked for a BP, i would love their pizza! it's got a nice crunch and a soft centre in their crust. it's what every pizza fan dreams of! Boston Pizza may be a run of the mill franchise as many view it, but it's well rounded with something for everyone and great flavour combinations. They cater to vegetarians, food allergies (everything from nut & shellfish to celiac and gluten) and people who are lactose intolerant. This location in particularly friendly and very helpful. Went tonight for my birthday supper with my wife and daughter. Order our meals wife only wanted veggies with her steak and they had none. My chicken sandwich was alright. We ordered a quesadilla for my daughter she's 2 and did not really eat Asked server to pack it up and we skipped dessert. Server threw out the kids meal said she didn't hear me say pack it up. Didn't offer to take it off the bill. So we bought a kids meal to go in the garbage. Probably will not be returning to this location. Went to Boston Pizza in Sackville this.evening as a fundraiser for sackville ringette. This was my first time at this location but certainly not my first BP experience. All things considered, a pretty consistent meal. Mine was the butternut squash and pumpkin soup followed by the yam fries. My husband has the French onion soup and chicken parmigana. My soup was nice with toasted pecans and a touch of sour cream. Yam fries were the standard offering. French onion soup was quote "not too bad" not quite the ringing endorsement. the chicken was good, spaghetti was ok... The server was nice and the meal arrived promptly and to temp. Will i come again? Sure, but not tomorrow. read more

We only go to this restaurant for both eat in and take out because it is close to our home. We always have the same items each time we go, but there is never any consistency at all. The serving size is never the same from visit to visit, Tai Bites come with less and less sauce or are burnt one time and not the other, items missing from the order, the list goes on. The staff is friendly, but the quality of the food and the quality control of the food is atrocious. We have politely commented about this over the years we have frequented this restaurant, but nothing ever changes. This time there was definitely a change in our order as my Cesar Salad came with the added benefit of a human fingernail. Gotta love the extras. Got a call from my parents who were here this evening, this was there experience. Went to Boston pizza for salad and ribs. 45 min later they came out to us that they ran out of dry ribs. So they were giving me free wings. Half hour later someone brings out two plates of wings. Wrong ones. Sent back . Half hour later they com out with some kind of salad and said it was spinach and 1 plate of wings cold. We left. read more

Not much to say. If you've had Freemans, Alexandras, Jack Astors, etc, you've had Boston Pizza. I'm talking about the food. I can't speak for the service or in restaurant service. I've have food delivered twice and the first time I was unimpressed and the second time I almost got a hernia trying to kick myself. The nachos were way overpriced. I was expecting enough for my girlfriend and I based on the price. Instead, we got soggy, bland nachos that seemed like they were made in a couple of minutes and the ratio of nacho chips to cheese was heinous. To their credit, the lady on the phone said that they usually deliver the nachos uncooked to avoid the soggyness, but that doesn't explain why there was about 50 grams of cheese covering a mountain of nacho chips. Moreover, I've ordered nachos since for years and have often gotten fresh, crisp nachos via delivery. Perhaps Boston Pizza is more about going there, watching the game, drinking beer, wearing your habs hat on backwards with your bros, etc. I would not recommend BP for delivery. read more

We have been sackville Boston pizza fans for years. They always have the best quality in comparison and the service is amazing. One day we sat down and waited 29 minutes for a server to come take our drink order. One staff member took the reigns went out of his way to Make the meal and drinks as quick as possible and covered our desserts! Doesn't matter where we are in HRM, if we want Boston pizza we travel out of our way for this location. I can't say enough good things of the service and quality of Food. read more

Came back today to try this restaurant again and they really did so much better. Our food was delicious, solid 10/10 waitress and the wait time for our food might have been ten minutes and the restaurant was fairly busy. Usually, I don't give any chains five stars, because I often find I don't like them as much as local, hole-in-the-wall places. But this location of Boston Pizza is great! Personally, I find that you definitely get what you pay for and that is good quality food, just like it should be. Usually, I find chains will slack on the quality of the food they serve so I tend not to go to them, but this is a place that my friends and I enjoy going for birthdays or just nights out. But, what stands out the most about this Boston Pizza is the service. As you can see from the other reviews. It is pretty fabulous. They are always checking up on their guests, even when it gets busy. For me, this is what can make or break my experience at a restaurant. I cannot tell you how many times I have been to a restaurant where the only time we saw the server was to take our money. Whenever my friend or my family and I go here, there is no doubt in my mind that I will have a good meal and service. I haven't gone wrong with Lower Sackville's Boston Pizza, and I don't intent to be in the future. Good job, Boston Pizza! read more

I received a gift card for Xmas to eat here and I'm so glad I didn't wastey own money on this garbage. The food is terrible! The pizza crust was a joke, basically cardboard frozen crap. My meat on what my husband ordered smelled and tasted way funky. He couldn't even eat it, yet still had to pay for it. I gave this place two chances to impress me and I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone read more

I always enjoy their pasta, wings and nachos here. Although when I've tried to stray from that in the past, I've been very disappointed. I'm not one to complain or send food back but I have had to here. I ordered the steak off of their healthy alternatives menu and the steak was almost 50% fat/grissle that I couldn't eat. I was so disappointed since I'm a big fan of trying out different steak houses. For a few dollars more than I paid I could've gone to the keg instead... I spoke to the waitress and she discounted my meal for me which was nice of her, but it just wasn't worth the evening out since I was hoping for a meal I would enjoy more than something I could've made at home. On a different occasion my mother ordered a sandwich and requested the bread be lightly toasted. When she received the sandwich is was very soggy and looked like it had been buttered on the outside and warmed up, it wasn't toasted at all. Again, the waitress was very nice and took the sandwich back and when brought back the sandwich was perfect. I really enjoy their garlic cheese toast but sometimes it seems like they make a large batch of it and just leave it lying around because by the time I get it, it seems very stale. Way too pricey. We ordered an Alfredo pizza to try and it was awful. The Alfredo sauce tastes like it was watered down and looked more like a vessel for dna rather than real alfredo. Really never thought I'd be able to write a review for Boston Pizza in Sackville with a half decent rating. It's taken them years, but I think they've finally got the kinks worked out and the restaurant can both: 1. serve clients, and 2. cook food. My complaint was the kids meals are still too expensive. Shouldn't kids eat free? Or cheap? But the menu continues to evolve and the soft chicken tacos were nice, my husbands ribs were better than expected and the kids stopped whining long enough to trade some food and everyone ate something. Good food, fun atmosphere, and it's pretty conveniently located near the movie theatre in Sackville if you want to get a bite to eat before or after a movie. The service is really friendly...once they attend to you. It feels like every time we go we stand inside the door waiting to be seated for a long time, even when it's not busy. I have to admit I usually get very good service in HRM and all the times I have been to BP that has been the case. Food is tasty but Portion sizes are relatively small for the price. I am not a fan of humongous portions but like a good price to size ratio...:-) A nice spot for a get together but I wouldn't ac-use them of being cheap. read more

DO NOT order steak of any kind from this place , I've had better meats from a frozen dinner in a Sobeys. DO not order a hamburger of any sort from here. They are frozen patties and I've had better burgers from frozen from Wal-Mart for 8$ for 8 patties as opposed to 14$ for one cheap meat patty from BP. Caesar Salad's are worse here than at Swiss Chalet.. ( and they make terrible ones) stick with pizza and pasta if you're not looking to waste your money. read more

I am a frequent patron to this Location, and I have to say, after my last visit I will not be going back. When I arrived at the loaction, the hostess looked stunned, and didn't know where to seat us. My 8 year old wasn't given a coloring sheet or a kids menu, and our waitress didn't arrive until 15 minutes after we were seated because the hostess told her we were waiting for more people to arrive. Our order was taken and put in the system at 6:08. By 6:40 we were still waiting for food. My mother called the establishment complaining about the wait time (which is a lot considering we ordered a child sized pasta and a sandwich. Then, when the order finally came, my food was wrong. When We called the manager to tell him about our service, he said he spoke to me while I was there and everything was fine. That's a lie and never happened. We left and proceeded to call the owner, who then decided it was appropriate to scream profanities on the phone when dealing with a customer. I have since contacted BP corporate and the Better Business Bureau and filed complaints. Unspeakably bad customer service and I will never be going back. Be warned; If you're willing to deal with this woman and her poorly run business, you will get nothing but a migraine and a stomach ache. read more

It took 10 minutes to be seated when there was few people there. The food came pretty fast, but the quality was not good. We ordered pasta, pizza, and cactus cut chips. The pizza was ok. It was a little hard. The pasta lacked flavour; the sauce was very watery, and there was way too much sauce. The portions were small for the price. The cactus cut chips were delicious at this location (only in this location!). If we decide to eat here again, we will not be getting any of the pastas. read more

i cannot give any stars for rating this establishment.I started to order from pick up as I do enjoy BP pizza when its done the way I order it ;as my family and I stopped coming in as the wait staff are really slow and there is usually an issue with the food.That said I ordered and went to pick up the pizza and it was wrong again!!I was told that they were going to have to cook another one and I said that is not acceptable.I spoke with the manager and he agreed with me and was willing to refund my money and to give me a proper pizza that I ordered,as I was always under the impression that the customer is always right.WRONG...the owner aggressively made her way to tell me that if I was going to get a pizza I had to pay for it even though it was the wrong one...I demanded my money back.The FRANCHISEE OWNER threw my money at me which landed on the floor that she picked up and laid her hand on my upper arm "to throw me out".I told her to get her hand off me as this is assault and informed her I will be getting in contact with the BBB and Head office.This was very unprofessional and is a not customer friendly establishment.I was appalled to be treated so very badly knowing children are in attendance witnessing this terrible behaviour!!!I will never ever step foot in another BP restaurant. read more
