So much better than the average PC's at every other library) - Printers that state of the art, and double-side paper! - Never crowded - Cool coupon bin "take a coupon, leave a coupon" - Organized and clean library - Decent variety of DVD's - Decent variety of books, that doesn't make it impossible to find something - For a branch, more than generous hours: Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri and Sat 10-5 and Tuesday 1-9. - Friendly, helpful staff, who are always around and always friendly! (especially Lisa and Pam) - Great atmosphere for the community. I see a lot of the same people, and especially in the senior community, this place gives seniors a great place to go on a regular basis. Love the frequency of the same people who use this place. Cons: Literally NONE. This is a great find in Dedham for anyone in the area to enjoy. Normally I don't say to go out of your way to go somewhere, but I prefer this over my local library by 1000% (the Westwood Library is so bad!). Highly suggested for a Minuteman Library in the Dedham area. Hopefully, Dedham always keeps their branch open, it is such a great and convenient stop. 5 stars for life. Love this place.

We entered right at opening, and the initial gasp of enjoyment my Granddaughter let out was worth the visit. We explored for hours, enjoyed lunch in the café (attached) and reasonable priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were people at almost every table on three different floors. The children's section was very cute. The library appeared to have an extensive collection for both adults and children. We walked into the older section of the library and we were amazed. It was definitely more like a museum. The murals on the wall and ceiling were stunning. The outside fountain area was beautiful. There were people taking photos for special events and many people like us just in awe of our surroundings. So, if you take your time and sit and watch the many movies they have and marvel at the Medals and Gifts and all the photos of the 1960's as President and the outfits Jacqueline Kennedy on display will show you her slim look and exquisite style ! My 1.5 year old and I love this library! It has everything we need. In addition to a wide book…read moreselection, it has so many activities throughout the week that keep us occupied and stimulated. There is story time, block building, and music sessions. There are even more activities for older kids. The space is always clean. It is wheelchair (and stroller) accessible and a decent amount of parking next door.

Still the worst library in existence. Wouldn't it be nice…read moreto live in a town that has a decent, well-run, well-built library. Well, I guess for me, that's just too much to ask. I used to come here all the time and never had issues, and then things changed. There were leaks, things braking, mice and just overall an unpleasant place to be. Then they rebuilt the library for only more issues to occur. The library has now needed to be closed on three separate occasions, each for three weeks, or more, for issues with the ceilings. Honestly, ridiculous. Staff are eh-eh, and the book selection isn't anything great. It's a shame coming here, while the Dedham Library (and Endicott Branch), Needham Library, and Natick Library all just completely pound this library into the ground.... they are ALL so much better. I am not proud to live in a town with a place that runs so horribly. Every time I go to the Dedham Library, I drive by here, and remind myself of all the reasons I don't stop here instead. Horrible.

This one-story library was much bigger than I anticipated (in comparison to the Upham's Corner…read morelibrary and the Field's Corner library, this is much bigger) so this was a lovely surprise. Since this was my first time here, I am not sure if they recently went through renovations or not, but it sure looks like it. The library has high ceilings, couches towards the middle of the floor, and the tables next to the windows that make it a bright spot to work at. What I also liked was the courtyard section (make sure you don't bring food inside since you won't be able to eat it in the courtyard & FYI it was locked so you will need to ask for the doors to be opened). There are a lot of tables and seats so if you feel like reading outside this might be a good idea once it's officially spring weather. It might not be ideal if you're trying to work on a laptop since the tables are made out of wood and the wood does not have super smooth finish.

I have lived around the corner from this branch for over 15 years and it has been one of my…read morefavorite resources in this neighborhood for many reasons. The librarians are wonderful, smart and resourceful. I never go downtown for anything or even to another branch when I order online and pick up there. When my children were younger we spent hours on the rug in the childrens section enjoying the best children's books before they could talk. I spent hours there writing my dissertation and still appreciate the encouragement and support I got from the staff. Special programs in the big add even more to this branch which is almost as a community center as a library for the Lower Mills and surrounding community. When we had to fight to keep it open, the neighborhood and local merchants were fighting for an invaluable and treasured community resource. We love the Boston Public Library Lower Mills Branch!
