Intimate experience to go to a game here, but two things confused me: ~ Overpowering stench of greasy food. I felt sick to my stomach for much of the game just due to the smell! ~ Our seats were located under some sort of huge deck, so we couldn't see the Jumbotron. I live basically across the street from the park, so what's hilarious is that I can actually see half of the Jumbotron from my apartment window. I attended the historic loss 21-2 for the Angels against the Sox.. and was super surprised of the support from the Sox fans! They did not leave till the end even with the clear notion that the game had no hope. -Great fan base! read more

Oh the Red Sox. 86 years of suffering, 4 years of kick-assness. How do I feel about thee? As a fan of the Oakland Athletics I really hate to say nice things about the current champs and the team that really is dominating baseball 2008 but I can't help it. The Red Sox are NOT the new Yankees. I still hate the Yankees way more than I could hate the Sox. Here are a few reasons why: -Seeing Sox Gear On Everyone: The red and blue looks good on you Boston, everyone wears a Red Sox shirt in this town and you guys look good in them, cool confident, it works. -Fenway Park: Fenway is right in the middle of this town and it's like the beating heart of Boston in the summertime. There's something magical about paying $50 on stubhub for a really uncomfortable seat in the third to last row out in the right field grandstand and watching the Sox clobber their opponent to death. -Wally: Maybe it's because I just saw WALL-E but I really enjoyed seeing Sox fans clamour over your big green mascot and yell his name. -Manny and Big Papi: Sure, they are overpayed superstars but they get the job done and they smile and Manny has a whole lot hair. So yeah, I can't really like the Sox but I can't hate them either. Just destroy the rest of the AL (Yankees, Rays, Angels, Twins) for the A's and we'll gladly get together in October. I love my Sox! The one thing I really miss since moving to California is getting to go to Red Sox games. I get a bit of the feel when I go to see the Sox play the A's and most of the stadium is wearing red, but it just isn't quite the same. At least the tickets in California are easy to get and cheap. Having grown up in Canada I never really knew had a true understanding for what baseball was all about. For us growing up as kids hockey is where boys turn to men and playing hockey growing up was and still is a way of life. So after my half dozen trips to Boston I knew the Red Sox were like religion (maybe obsession) similar to how life is for a Habs fan in Montreal or a Leafs fan in Toronto (it's been a while since both of these teams won a cup). However in Canada we've demolished all the old rinks. To come see the Sox at Fenway (even though their 2015 team is not as good) is still pretty amazing! The history of the team and the fact they've won three championships in the last 15 years is pretty cool. People will love and people will hate the Red Sox. I hope to come understand them more and enjoy a few more games in that old ballpark eating a sausage on bun. read more

Why do the Sox not score perfectly with a big fan? Simple, they have become too corporate lately. The ticket prices continue to rise, the food prices are outrageous at Fenway too. They are just doing too many cheesy gimmicks at the games now. You can thank Dr. Charles for that garbage. Also, the NESN broadcasts are commercials and advertisements with a baseball game sandwiched in-between. I'm sick of Remy hawking all his garbage during broadcasts and Don Orsillo has zero personality. I enjoy watching people walk AWAY from the stadium with a purposeful stride, like they know where it is. All decked out in Sox gear too. The park is over that way. I am a new transplant to Boston, so I don't have much room to talk. I grew up a Mets fan. So I hate the Yankees for a different reason. I started liking the Sox when they started dressing like pirates. Then Pedro would stride to the mound like "Yeah whatchoo got?!?" and just make batters look silly. First let me say if there was a way to do NEGATIVE stars this Organizations ticket office and Naomi Calder the Sr. Director of Ticketing would have most definitely earned ZERO or NEGATIVE starts !!! This organizations ticket office "customer service reps" (and I use the term Customer Service very lightly) have NO clue on how to get and keep fans. They obviously have ZERO clue on making sure a fan stays a fan and no interested in helping fans either! I live out of state and planned to bring my sister to Fenway for the first time in September, by the time our plane lands, we drop our stuff at the hotel and get to Fenway, we won't have time to buy tickets in order to get in on time. There is a ridiculous $19 in fees to order on line and a $10 fee to order on the phone and NO FEE to go down and buy them from the stadium. We live OUT OF STATE so I called 1-877-RED-SOX9 and spoke to ticket rep "Cameron" who went out of his way to be rude to me, that he actually HUNG UP on me. When I called back to speak to a Supervisor, I was told there were none there and wouldn't be for days. I called back today and spoke to Naomi Calder (Sr. Director of Ticketing) and explained our time constraint and asked if the $10 phone fee could be waived, $10 ! She refused. I explained again our time constraint ..again flat out refusal. I guess the Red Sox need my $10 so bad. I realize they suck this year and are in the basement, which is all the MORE reason to want to (a) bring in more fans and (b) make the fans happy. I will NEVER EVER go to Fenway Park for anything - concert, game, nothing. read more

Being a life long native of New England I love and support the Boston Red Sox. This poor review is specifically for the Red Sox ticket services. Operating a tour company that transports groups (via deluxe motor coach) to Fenway Park I am here to vent my dissatisfaction with 1. Bus Parking- There are very few spots to park buses in the Maitland Lot (the only lot at Fenway that provides bus parking) and half the time I reach out to reserve a spot there are none left to have. Leaving us to have to drop off the group and create grid lock in Boston. My suggestion to Fenway Park is to have a designated lane for buses to drop off groups at the stadium where they can be out of the way of local traffic. 2. Every time I call Red Sox ticket services I am put on hold averaging 25 minutes per call. If the organization can afford to pay pitchers an annual salary of 31 million I would have to believe there is some money laying around to get a couple of more associates to answer phone calls. read more

Visited Fenway Park as part of a trip to New York and Boston watched game versus Angels on 24th June. Thoroughly enjoyed the game, the entertainment and the night overall. We were sat in a block furthest away from umpire opposite end of stadium. Liked the view could see all the action. Will mention though that I didn't enjoy somebody's knee in my back through to the top of the 7th and I think we sat in the middle of a group of people that travelled together I stood up when others around me stood up which seemed to annoy the lady next to me who moved along one seat. read more

I am a transplant. I grew up a Chunichi Dragons fan. Then I moved to US, ah 16 years ago, and met this team. It made me happy, it made me sad, it made me ecstatic!, it made me mad, and it made me cry (among other things). They gave up a homerun to Arron Boon, traded my favorite player (Nomar) and won the whole thing. I thought the best time was behind us, I thought I could finally relax. THEN they got the pitcher, the best Japanese pitcher, in Daisuke Mastuzaka. They will make me sad, happy, mad, and make me cry (happy or sad) for years to come, I am sure. read more

RED SOX ROCK!!! Here's a tip wait with about 2-4 people outside gate E before the game on Landsdown St about 3-4 hours before the game usually between 2-3, before the line starts getting long. A guy comes out with vouchers, you still have to remain in your spot in line until the gates open and don't lose your voucher or your place in line. Once the gates open at 6pm you can order face value whatever they have left from the ticket window. You usually dont get in till about the 1st-2nd inning but its worth it if you get a ticket for like $20....for a Yankees game and they hit four home runs in a row like the did at the Dice K game when I went in 2007. You might have to stand, but at least you're in Go in a group or at least one other person so in case you need to use the restroom or order food while you wait one of you can save the spot in line (And dont go between 3:30-5pm) That's when they usually hand out the vouchers DO NOT PARK AT THE BALLPARK OR NEAR IT. They RIP YOU OFF PARKING TIPS: Park at the Sullivan Square lot $3.50 or the Overflow lot $6.00... (Much better than $60 near the park) Take the Orange line to Downtown Crossing - walk the tunnel over to Park St. and take any B,C,D train to Kenmore Square. Make sure you have your return fare on your charlie ticket in advance so you don't have to wait in long lines for a charlie ticket. Park at Oak Grove or Wellington Stations and Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing walk the tunnel 5 min to Park St and then B,C,D, to Kenmore. Coming back you want to walk up to the Citgo Sign turn left up Comm Ave and go to the first subway stop (Blandford St.) To catch the Green Line or BU East.....- This way you might luck out and get a seat before the crowd comes on board at Kenmore. Or Walk up to the Copley Place Mall (Via Boylston St.) and walk through the Copley Place Mall to Back Bay Station and get the Oak Grove Train there. (orange line) Park: At the Courthouse By Lechemere, on Cambridge St or nearby at the meters. After 6pm the meters shut off (Free Sundays). one quarter is 30 minutes of parking time so you can come about 4pm, pay $2.00 to park catch the green line "E" car from Lechemere to Copley Square, change to B,C, or D at Copley and take to Kenmore. Coming back you could walk up to Back Bay Station through the Copley Place Mall up Boylston St. from the park---(about a 20 min walk). And get the T to Haymarket, change at North Station for the Green Line - (When you exit the Orange Line at North Station walk upstairs to the left up the escalator and get the Green Line Lechemere Car. (Note: Sometimes a North Station car will come (you cant get on that one, its the last stop) (Wait for Lechemere) (On a nice day you could even walk from North Station, just go down Causeway St. Take a right along the driveway by the building (BANK NORTH GARDEN) and you'll see the River on your right with a park, walk along the park to the light and turn right onto route 28 McGrath Highway, cross Carefully and walk along the Museum of Science -past the T-REX At the end of the Garage turn left through a driveway near the police parking and then you'll take a right along the Charles River Canal----pathway to the Cambridge Galleria. When you reach the Cambridge Galleria take a right on the main st. and it'll take you to Cambridge St where you can get your car, up 2 more blocks past the "T' Station Other parking options include: Parking meters by Boston University in the Back of the Shaws Supermarket near Packards Corner off Comm Ave. Other option: Arlington - Park in Arlington Heights or Arlington near the Capitol theater on Side Streets (Oxford, etc.) -- You can leave your car all day and most of the night (not overnight) but most of it. Then catch the #77 bus to Porter Square Station and take the Red Line to Park St and change for the B,C,D, to Kenmore. The Red Sox Can be an enjoyable experience if you do it right!!!!!!! And avoid the old cliche of getting drunk before the game! Its stupid to get drunk and then not remember an exciting game! Have some class people!!! Drink AT the game not BEFORE it. read more

We have a 10 game pack holders for 12 years (straight out of college) and we have 9 seats together. The past two years they offered BP for all of their season ticket holders (10 game pack, 20 games, half season and full season), which I thought was amazing. Much respect to an organization that takes care of their dedicated fans. HOWEVER, this year they decided to only offer BP to half season ticket holders and up, claiming "timing" issues. TIMING? The Red Sox won the World Series last year and we still went. Dedication is a two way street. You usually offer more to those dedicated fans that have stuck with you through the good and the bad, NOT take things away. This is a 1* review for the Red Sox MANAGEMENT, not the ball park or team. We all have our ups and downs but MANAGEMENT shouldn't kick the fans while they are down. We still went to the games in losing seasons and this is how we get repaid. Lets just say that I used to love this team. Not anymore. After the last two years in last place and seeing the fiasco in spring training with third base, I am not a fan anymore. Used to go to a few games a year, but with the rising ticket prices and lack of excitement around the team, I don't think I will go until they turn their ship around. Which probably won't happen this year. They did a little something this year by getting an ace, but they have a hole to dig out of from the past- I just don't see it happening this season.
