The setting of this store is mysteriously romantic but with a very dark tone. I loved the floral placement, the lighting, how everything is perfectly placed. The most beautiful piece in this store is that huge, ornate mirror in the back corner. A stunning piece that I'm sure is not for sale. But what a stunner that added so a romantic feel to the store. On the other side of that romantic tone is the dark side of it. The decor, the art, the books are very dark. It's a lot to take in but at the same time very intriguing. It's eerie but not eerie enough to scare you. Honestly, the perfect shop for your decor if your lifestyle craves that rich dark note to it. Staff was friendly. Store is beautiful. I didn't realize that there was a tattoo joint in the back. My daughter wanted a tat while we were in Salem so that would have been dope to get one here. I don't know when we will be back in Salem but I look forward to stopping in and checking everything out again.

The interior was so beautiful and scary, but in a classy way. There were unique book editions and artwork everywhere. I took home an Ozzy Osbourne post card that fit perfectly on my refrigerator. I actually didn't realize that they are also a tattoo studio - that would have been cool to check out, but I was so distracted and intrigued with the front of the store that I never even noticed. Staff were very friendly and approachable! I highly suggest checking out The Black Veil Studio whether it is for a tattoo or to check out their awesome items for sale.

We're both pretty heavily tatted and generally sit great but both of us were twitching and flinching in obvious pain throughout the entire tattoo. Not sure if the machine speed was off or this was his standard style (he mentioned we sat super well which was funny to us since it was the worst we've ever sat). Besides the tattoo issues, the shop in general was definitely in need of a deep cleaning! There were lots of cobwebs and dust on fixtures and the bathroom was literally a construction site. We love supporting local shops and artists, but definitely won't be back here.

The guy at the front desk helped me align it and said it would fit well. I picked a woman's face framed by a rose. I wish they would have let me know that it was a poor placement before putting the stencil on. The first part went fine, but shortly after doing part of the initial outline he told me that it would hurt a lot more when he began the inside of my arm. I tried to get through it, but eventually we decided to ditch the rose and just keep the face. Even though I got half the tattoo, I paid the full price. It looks great (and his lines are incredible) but I only got half of what I paid for. If I been advised about the placement, I probably would have chosen a different spot. Overall, the art is great and the staff are accommodating, but you might not get the best advice and end up leaving with half a tattoo.

As I was talking to him on the phone, I thought he seemed like a decent guy. I went online and searched it up as anyone should do if they are paying for a service restaurant, hotel, or something thats getting put your body. You're not being a stan your being proactive. What I saw was impressive. Not only his work, that was bussin, but how he gives back to the community. When we got to the shop, I was even more impressed. Cleanest tattoo shop I have ever seen, and everyone was super friendly. We started to work on the tattoo, and then I was convinced he was dope and the shop vibe was dope. Professional, talented, and so chill. He took time to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The free hand drawing, along with the speed and accuracy of the tattoo, were fire. He has huge hands with a light touch. After he was finished, the area was hardly even red. I would highly recommend Jeffrey Brito and Expensive Pain Hood Ink Zoo. He is the GOAT! Mama Rose
