Boston Tree Service removed some fallen trees and debris from our backyard for a good price. They were prompt and professional.

Halls Tree Service

I wished I had read about this group. NEVER USE THEM!!!!!!!! Did not complete the job, even after I…read moreoffered to pay them to come back. I hope Monica Hall will read this and do what is right.

Halls tree service (out of Lexington, NC they said) gave me awful service, and ripped me off of…read moreabout $200. They came to my door offering to give an estimate on tree trimming, removing limbs overhanging my roof, tree-shaping, etc. I said I probably needed that work done, but I also needed a 80 ft. dead oak tree taken down. They said they'd do that too. They priced everything at $900. They began immediately with the "little jobs" and worked between 1.5 and 2.0 hours. When they finished they asked for $400 in CASH to cover their work that day and as a "down payment" on taking the big tree down the next. I was surprised they wanted any payment before completing all the work, but relented and gave them $300 cash (all I had) and a check for $100. They came back the next day and looked over the big tree, and told me it was too wet to take down then, and that they'd be back later. Later never came as they never returned and refused to return my calls. Finally, 3 days later, I got up with Monica Hall, the alleged owner, and she said they had decided they couldn't remove the big tree, since it was more than they could handle. Why I wasn't told that 3 days earlier is beyond me. I told her that I had overpaid them for their less than 2 hours of work and I wanted $200 back. After all, part of the $400 cash was a "down payment" on taking down the big tree. She refused to listen and terminated the call. I called the bank and stopped payment on the $100 check, so I was ripped off only $100. But what a bunch of scam artists. Don't ever use them!
