My wife and I are big fans of haunted attractions and have been to them all over the world. Ravenwood is a moody, artfully executed take on the haunted farm/corn maze attraction found in New England. What makes it unique is the attention to detail in the design of the props, sets, and costumes, all of which come together to create a beautifully haunting atmosphere. The location helps to set the mood. We drove down dark and windy country roads and arrived at a farm with a large white barn in some state of disrepair. Parking attendants guided us to park in a field up a hill. There is a bit of a walk from the parking area to the attraction and it is almost all downhill on dewy grass, so consider this when picking shoes to wear. At the entrance, there were several vendors selling doughnuts, cider, hot dogs, and even a bacon-themed food truck! We purchased premium tickets but, in retrospect, did not need to do so because the line was not very long. Actually, it was surprisingly quiet there for a Friday night. However, reading other reviews suggests that we just lucked out as the lines can be much longer at times. After waiting for a few minutes, we were led to a tractor-pulled hay wagon for a ride to the attraction with a dozen other people. From there, we were whisked (okay, towed) to the attraction at the edge of the woods. The attraction itself featured several parts, including woods, several buildings, a "cemetery," and a corn maze. Most of these were executed very well. At times, I found myself in awe of the eerie beauty created by the lights, mist, and woods. The actors and costumes were excellent, and most seemed very into their roles. There were a few places which could have been helped by more actors, such as the corn maze, which felt a little long by the end. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would recommend it. The people who built Ravenwood have created an impressive attraction that should only get better as it becomes more popular. I look forward to going back next year.

I was very impressed with the character he was playing as the guide, a great mix of trustworthy and spooky. We made it about halfway through before the sudden loud noises were too much for her, and the guide didn't miss a beat when I asked him for help leaving. He found a good spot to ask the rest of our group to wait and then used the big prop lantern to guide us back. He immediately dropped the spooky character and went back to being kind and encouraging. I wish I could have seen the rest of the haunt because I was enjoying the effects! But I had to give major props to them for making sure we were safe and happy customers.

The wait was long, but I expect this for a good haunted house and for being so close to Halloween. It was nice that we didn't have to wait in a line but could walk around/ grab snacks etc. Also enjoyed that this is a non-profit and proceeds go directly to the town

This is probably one of the best haunted houses I've been too. Right when you get there you go to…read morethe ticket booth and pay for your ticket then pursue to the line.(ticket is $15, no refund) In line there are actors who have fake chainsaws and fake knifes who talk to you and make jokes about what's ahead and if you ask they will let you take a picture with them. Then the hayrides to the haunted house start at 7:00 or 6:30 ish so I would recommend getting there at like 6:00 or 5:50. Once it starts getting ready to start the line to go to the haunted houses they will tell you the rules; no touching the actors etc. Then you go on the hayride which only takes like two or three minutes. Then once your off you'll walk to the entrance of the haunted house where two people are standing and they remind you of the rules and if you have a group of eight or more to separate to groups of three or two. Then they ask for your ticket then you go right into the haunted house where your separated from the other people for about a three minutes difference. The haunted house was not to cheap about there scares every second there was a person here or there. But I don't really recommend the haunted house for children under 11 or 12. But there is hot cocoa if you wanna give the little ones a treat. Best experience ever can't wait for next year!
